ori blind forest farming areas
The indie platformer game with a variety of unique enemies.

Where do you get the most loot?

While playing Ori and the Blind Forest, some enemies will drop Spirit Light, Energy, or Life Cells. By manipulating some of the game's mechanics, you can farm Spirit Light and level up quicker. Here are the ten areas in the game that are best for farming.

1. The Hollow Grove - Forlorn Ruins Junction

Ori and the Blind Forest - Farming in Hollow Grove

To the left of the teleporter in Hollow Grove, where there are two green beetles and a magma-rock enemy, you can collect a lot of Spirit Light very easily. You could either take the more active approach of going back and forth while killing the magma enemy, or you could stand in the fork of the branch and let the two green beetles respawn and destroy themselves continually.

Why Hollow Grove is a good farming spot:

  • Offers a farming method that requires little input.
  • Close to a save point and teleporter.
  • The enemies you are farming from respawn after a few seconds.

2. The Hollow Grove - Mount Horu Junction

Ori and the Blind Forest - Farming near Hollow Grove.

A little further left of the first point, there is a magma enemy that respawns when you kill it. You can easily kill it multiple times by using ‘Bash’ to repel its projectiles back at it. Though this offers fewer points, it’s a much easier active method.

Why Hollow Grove is a good farming spot:

  • Simple and easy method.
  • Only one enemy you need to avoid.
  • The enemy respawns after a few seconds.

3. Mount Horu

Ori And The Blind Forest - Farming in Mount Horu.

In Mount Horu, there is an upward tunnel full of magma-rock enemies that you have to use ‘Bash’ to make it through before you enter a door on your right. These enemies would likely be destroyed as collateral damage while you make your way up, but they respawn after a few seconds. You can use this to your advantage to farm Spirit Light.

Why Mount Horu is a good farming spot:

  • It’s towards the end of the game. By farming here you can make your endgame much easier.
  • Lots of enemies to farm from.
  • This method is a lot of fun.

4. Valley of the Wind - Near Sorrow Pass

Ori And The Blind Forest - Farming in the Valley of the Wind

This is a method that will require some skill. After acquiring ‘Horu’s Feather’, you will be able to ride the current up to Sorrow Pass. Along the way and at the top you will encounter quite a few enemies as well as a crystal that offers Energy. With enough practice, you can utilize this area to its full effect.

Why the Valley of the Wind is a good farming spot:

  • Farming includes harvesting from a crystal for guaranteed Energy.
  • Destroying the bird enemies yields a lot of experience.
  • You can farm here before moving on to the next area.

5. The Middle of Thornfelt Swamp

Ori and The Blind Forest - Farming in Thornfelt Swamp.

In the middle of Thornfelt Swamp, there is an area where you will encounter several purple enemies shooting big projectiles. They respawn whenever you are standing in a specific position, so you can use whatever method you find easiest to continuously destroy them and collect from them.

Why Thornfelt Swamp is a good farming spot:

  • The enemies respawn with minimal turnaround time.
  • There is only one type of enemy to worry about.
  • You can use several different methods to kill them.

6. Hollow Grove - First Green Beetle

Ori And The Blind Forest - Farming in Hollow Grove

This spot comes earliest of the methods so far. You can accomplish this farming method without having that many skills. At the time you first encounter a respawning green beetle, you can dodge its attacks and let it destroy itself to farm points.

Why Hollow Grove is a good farming spot:

  • It’s part of the early game.
  • The enemy respawns every few seconds.
  • The method requires very little input and no combat at all.

7. Mount Horu - Second Door

Ori and the Blind Forest - Farming in Mount Horu.

Once you unlock the second door, there is a rather small area where several magma-rock enemies await you. They can be killed by repelling their projectiles with relative ease, but the quickest way to farm is to kill the first one with ‘Stomp’ as they respawn when you move to the left.

Why Mount Horu is a good farming spot:

  • Quick turnaround time.
  • Easy method with minimal risk of death.
  • A good farming spot before the endgame.

8. Sorrow Pass’ Entrance

Ori and the Blind Forest - Farming in Sorrow Pass

This is the area directly above point 4. After defeating the birds and collecting from the crystal, there are a few lamps that respawn when you move off-screen. Cycling between destroying them and the birds is an effective farming method.

Why Sorrow Pass is a good farming spot:

  • Easy access.
  • The lanterns provide no danger.
  • Lanterns providequite a lot of Spirit Energy.

9. Thornfelt Swamp - Post Learning ‘Stomp’

Once you’ve reached the map marker, you can use your newly acquired skill to kill many enemies while you navigate to the nearest teleporter. The proximity to the teleporter makes this area very convenient.

Why Thornfelt Swamp is a good farming spot:

  • Gives you practice with the skill.
  • Gain many points by killing several different enemies.
  • Close to a teleporter.

10. Misty Woods Entrance

Starting in Misty Woods and moving back towards the Valley of the Wind, you will encounter a number of enemies, Life Cells, and Energy Crystals. Navigate this area with enough skill and you’ll be able to gain a lot of experience too.

Why Misty Woods is a good farming spot:

  • Offers practice before reaching harder areas.
  • Plenty of Energy Crystals and Life Cells to find.
  • Enemies are not too difficult.
