Don’t let his high ban rate discourage you from practicing this very valuable, teamplay-centric, operator. Especially with the releases of newer operators, there are actually times now in ranked mode when he’s not banned. His unique gadget, the “Eyenox Model III”, is based on a real-life tool used by the FBI to track down terrorists. It lets you track enemy defenders’ footsteps, and with the right set of weaponry, you’ll understand more why Jackal is one of the most feared attackers in Rainbow Six Siege.

For shotgun junkies

Some players are just gifted with using shotguns, and with the right kind of play, this high damage shotgun can be a perfect partner for Jackal’s tracking device. Since Jackal’s main role is to track and focus on foot prints while watching what’s in front of him, the claymore will come in handy when it comes to watching your back.

Always have the suppressed handgun at the ready and destroy defender cameras with it. Your enemies might hear the camera being destroyed, but they won’t have a good idea where the shot came from. Once you get close to the enemy you’re tracking, be ready to surprise him or her with the ITA12L shotgun.

Excels in:

  • Close range

It wouldn’t be a specops game if stealth is not valuable

The C7E assault rifle does lower damage with a suppressor, but makes up for it with high fire rate and low recoil. And for a tracker like Jackal, stealth is very important. Imagine that you’re a defender and jackal is tracking you, and you have no idea where the shots are coming from. That’s what this loadout brings.

There will be situations where tracking a roamer will involve a high-speed chase. Either by you, or by the enemies counter-tracking you. And having a shotgun as your secondary will come in handy during those situations. Say for example you’re tracking a Caveira on the 2nd floor but she’s quickly running towards the 1st floor. You can cut her off by destroying a hatch and going down on it.

Excels in:

  • Medium to long range
  • Stealth

Reaction speed brings the W

The PDW9 submachine gun has lower damage than the C7E assault rifle, but makes up for it with more bullet capacity per magazine. Its short length is also an advantage because it lessens the probability of enemies seeing your gun barrel when you’re peeking around a corner. And with the angled grip, you can make flick shots and pre-fires faster, especially when you already have a good handle on your enemy’s position through the Eyenox.

And with the compensator, you’re ensuring that most of your shots will count, because it will give you the best recoil control for long sustained fire.

Excels in:

  • Close to medium range
  • Flick shots and pre-fire

2. PDW9 with 1.5x Scope, Flash Hider, and Angled Grip + ITA12S with Laser + Claymore

Deadly flick shots and short bursts

Because of Jackal’s main role, you’ll spend a lot of time looking down while tracking enemy footsteps. This leaves you vulnerable to enemies flanking you. Luckily, with the angled grip available to your guns, you’ll be able to react quickly. Since the flash hider provides really good recoil control during the first few shots, and the angled grip allows you to go into ads position faster, this loadout is perfect for making kills with quick flicks to the head. Just partner it with good cursor placement and rack up kills.

Excels in:

  • Close to medium range
  • Flick shots and pre-fire

Always leave a claymore behind you

Because of the inherent low recoil of the C7E, it’s still stable even without the vertical grip. And that’s why it’s best to attach an angled grip to it instead, so that you’ll be able to aim down your sights faster and be able to react and strafe enemies quicker. And with the flash hider giving your enemies some delay before noticing where they’re being shot at, this loadout gives you a lot of reaction time advantage, which is very important while tracking footsteps.

Excels in:

  • Any range
  • Flick shots
