[Top 5] Rainbow 6 Siege Best Sledge Loadouts

Rainbow Six Siege Sledge Loadouts

Sledge probably has the crudest gadget in Siege, but its simplicity is what really makes it more effective. It’s a big ass hammer that can open up holes through soft walls and hatches. That’s it. No fookin’ laseh sights. But it can breach through walls quieter than most breaching tools in R6, and it's quicker too. Making Sledge one of the best rushers and entry fraggers in the game. But his breaching hammer can only truly be effective when partnered with loadouts that suit the player’s playstyle.

Going all out with the firepower

This is the most basic Sledge loadout and the best for players who are new to the game. The compensator and vertical grip will give you the most stable recoil control, and the 1.5x scope has just the right amount of zoom which is not that far, and not that close to make you disadvantaged at close range.

Shoot cctv cameras with your suppressed pistol so that the defenders won’t be alerted by the sound of gunfire. You can also use the breaching hammer to punch holes through wooden floors when the enemy’s objective is on a lower floor. That way you’ll be free to frag the enemies below or throw grenades at them. And the one who controls the high ground has the advantage. Just ask Anakin.

Excels in:

  • Recoil control/accuracy
  • Any range

The SMG-11 burst fire is nasty

Another loadout that excels in any range. You can use the SMG-11 during close range encounters, and the L85A2 for medium to long ranged ones. Like the image caption says, the SMG-11's bursts are nasty because of its very high fire rate, and that is why it's best to equip it with a flash hider instead of a compensator because with only 16 bullets per magazine and an almost 1.3k fire-rate, you won’t be firing it for long. And the flash hider is best for recoil control when it comes to short bursts of fire.

You’d want to have the suppressed L85A2 at the ready for destroying defender cameras silently, especially when the enemy objective is below a wooden floor and you're planning to do a vertical attack. That way you’ll be able to go to the above floor without alerting enemies.

Destroy the wooden floors with your breaching hammer and rain down stun grenades on them while you and your teammates strafe them from all angles.

Excels in:

  • Any range
  • Accuracy
  • Stealth

Sledge is one of the deadliest grenade throwers in the game

For players who excel at using shotguns even when not performing a rush. The shotgun without a laser is for you to still have some degree of stealth which is very important in Siege, even when you’re not using a stealthy operator. This is another great loadout for a vertical attack, because chances are, some enemies will attempt to hunt you on the above floor, and that will most likely result in a close-range engagement. And close range is where shotguns are at their most deadly.

This is also a great loadout even when you’re not doing a vertical attack. With the shotgun, you can open up holes on the soft wall part above reinforced walls, and you can use those walls for throwing over your grenades- hopefully score a Kobe.

Excels in:

  • Close range
  • Vertical attack

The joys of shooting blinded enemies with a shotgun

The best Sledge loadout for rushing and entry fragging. You’d want to surprise the enemy with speed as much as possible. Will work best with a Lion and Dokkaebi in the team. Don’t let your drone be destroyed during the prep phase, but don’t leave it too far from the objective area as well. Use it to get a feel of the enemies’ positioning.

As soon as the round starts, sprint with your team towards the objective and through the hole that you’re gonna open up, and proceed with the rush. With the laser aiding your hip fire, you won’t have to ads, and you’d have a more open front view. Throw your stun grenades to where you think the enemies will be and then make all the kills as you can with your shotgun and once it needs to reload, switch quickly to your SMG-11. Don’t stop shooting until the objective area is clear.

Excels in:

  • Rushing
  • Entry fragging

Just the right blend of rashness and prudence

The most well-rounded Sledge loadout. And one that will suit any playstyle. Be it rushing, or pushing with controlled aggression. For rushing, proceed with a similar tactic that was mentioned in #2, but with this loadout, you’ll have frag grenades instead of stun grenades. While stun grenades are great, frag grenades offer different kinds of surprises aside from dealing damage. It can be used as an area denial tool by throwing it to the side where you don’t want enemies to be as you enter, or you can use it to flush enemies out of cover.

Even if the rush somehow fails and you manage to stay alive. With this loadout, you can regroup yourself and recalibrate your strategy. The second-best thing to do is probably a vertical attack, but if the objectives are not below a wooden floor, this loadout will still be effective with a more conventional approach using the principles stated in the previous items.

Excels in:

  • Well-roundedness
  • Any range
