[Top 8] RDO Best Stirrups (And How To Get Them)

Living the Life of a True Westerner

Let’s get to know the stirrups in Red Dead Online

Stirrups are a type of Horse Tack available at the stables. They work along with saddles to boost the stats of your only buddy in the Wild West. The effect of stirrups can be very subtle. You might not even recognize it if you’re an occasional player. But for casual and competitive players, stirrups can be a big deal.

8. Slim-line Stirrup

Cost: $59.00

This is usually the first stirrup that gamers buy in the first few hours of the game. This is the cheapest saddle in the game and rightfully so. This can be a good early-game choice for you if you’re not playing competitively.

Effect

  • Speed: +1
  • Acceleration: +1
  • Core Drain Rate: +15%

How to get it:
Buy it from the stables.

7. Deep Roper Stirrup

Cost: $64.00

This one is just your average saddle that the NPCs use. It is a good one to accompany you the first few days of the game but that’s about it. You’ll want to get a new saddle as soon as you can afford good saddles.

Effect

  • Speed: +1
  • Acceleration: +1
  • Core Drain Rate: +20%

How to get it:
Buy it from the stables.

6. Belled Oxbow Stirrup

Cost: $68.50

This is the best early-game stirrup you can get. It’ll save you some bucks because it has very little difference from the Oxbow. So, if you want to save off for the Hooded Stirrup, use this one ‘till you get there.

Effect

  • Speed: +1
  • Acceleration: +1
  • Core Drain Rate: +25%

How to get it:
Buy it from the stables.

5. Oxbow Stirrup

Cost: $74

Though this stirrup is not the best option for you, you can get this one anyway. If you don’t want to spend much yet you wish to get a stirrup that’ll do fine then an oxbow can be a good option for you.

Effect

  • Speed: +1
  • Acceleration: +1
  • Core Drain Rate: +30%

How to get it:
Buy it from the stables.

4. Bell Stirrup

Cost: $126

Bell stirrup can also be a good option for you in RDO. It will cost you a little less money but you’ll have better core drain rates than some of the stirrups.

Effect

  • Speed: +2
  • Acceleration: +2
  • Core Drain Rate: +35%

How to get it:
Buy it from the stables.

3. Safety Stirrup

Cost: $130

You may find the safety stirrup interesting in Red Dead Online. In my opinion, it’s not the best but it will give you better core drain rates than a bell stirrup and you can save up some money as well.

Effect

  • Speed: +2
  • Acceleration: +2
  • Core Drain Rate: +40%

How to get it:
Buy it from the stables.

2. Tapaderos Stirrup

Cost: $139.50

Tapaderos Stirrup is one of the Horse Stirrups which can be your second favourite in Red Dead Online. This stirrup will help you to get better core drain rates than a safety stirrup. If the hooded one doesn’t seem budget-friendly to you then you can go for this one.

Effect

  • Speed: +2
  • Acceleration: +2
  • Core Drain Rate: +45%

How to get it:
Buy it from the stables.

1. Hooded Stirrup

Cost: $144

The hooded Stirrup is one of the best Horse Stirrups in Red Dead Online. Horse Tack can be purchased at Stables, allowing players to customize their Horses' loadout. You might also be interested in Horse Grooming. This is the best you can get in the game because it’ll provide you with the best core drain rate boost.

Effect

  • Speed: +2
  • Acceleration: +2
  • Core Drain Rate: +50%

How to get it:
Buy it from the stables.
