Red Dead Redemption 2 offers a variety of options and controls over the controls themselves so that you can tweak them according to your playstyle and needs. Granted, not all of them make a significant difference, and some demand to be matched with other settings to offer a substantial change.

Here, we will explore the best settings you can put together for the best Aimy shooty experience.

1. Modern controls

If you have only played  RDR 2 in the recent rockstar games, then the controls might seem a little odd. It's not just you; the problem here is RDR2 controls are based on GTA 5's controls which are based on GTA 4's, so they are a bit outdated if we're being nice with words.

These Modern controls will solve that problem; as the name suggests, for the sharp-minded readers, we will make the game feel like a modern shooter.

The advantages of these settings:

  • Better Aim
  • Better experience as the game wouldn’t feel dated
  • You can switch between playing other games without having to readapt

How to get Modern controls :

  • Open the settings and go to controls
  • Turn the Aim/Look Dead zone all the way down to zero.
  • Turn the Aim/look acceleration up to a 100.
  • Turn the Aim/look sensitivity to about 80.

2. Maximum responsiveness

Some Red dead redemption players who got the hang of the control start to notice some shortcomings on the responsiveness side.

This is the solution to that; for maximum responsiveness, you can follow these tweaks.

The advantages of these settings :

  • Quicker Aim
  • Advantageous to have against groups of enemies
  • Easy to adapt to it quickly
  • It fits any play style

How to get Maximum responsiveness :

  • Open the settings and go to controls
  • Chose ‘’Standard’’ for the third person controls
  • Look sensitivity 75%
  • Aim sensitivity  75%
  • Aim/look acceleration 90%
  •  Aim/Look Dead zone 00%

3. Online PVP optimized

There's a massive difference between playing solo and online; for once, the people you shoot at and shoot at you are actual people looking to ruin your day, so you have to tweak your settings accordingly so you can ruin their day.

These settings will help you get a better grip in the online mode so you can AIM FOR THE TOP OF THE LEADERBOARD. I will not apologize for that.

The advantages of these settings :

  • Quicker Aim
  • Advantageous to have against groups of enemies
  • Easy to adapt to it quickly
  • It fits any play style

How to get  the Online PVP optimized :

  • Apply the same settings for both 3rd person and first-person shooter.
  • Chose ''standard FPS.''
  • Lock-on mode (on foot)  set to Normal
  • Aim assist strength (on foot) set to max
  • Lock-on mode (vehicle/ Horse)  set to Normal
