This list considers many of the different fighters reach when it comes down to their attacks. 

10) Link

Breath of the Wild Link’s new Final Smash shoots across the stage.

It was hard deciding which Link to choose, but the latest iteration takes his place. Now equipped with a longer master sword, this Link retains all his projectiles but comes with a new trigger activated bomb. Also, his new sword comes with a sword beam that is activated when the fighter is at 0% which creates an extra option to keep opponents away.

Why Link is Great

9) Simon/Richter

The Belmonts bring the various items from their games, creating a tricky and well-armed zoner.

It's a no-brainer putting these two in a best-ranged list. The duo manages to carry an arsenal of far hitting projectiles like the axe and the cross, but they also come equipped with their signature, the Vampire Killer. This whip acts as their neutrals and smash-attacks, which can really reach opponents with great power.

8) Inkling

It’s best to keep your distance because you wouldn’t want to be covered in that ink.

The Inkling kids come from a game where having the most range wins the day. These kids have a variety of weapons that cover the arena and opponents in their goop. The more the ink gets on an opponent the higher damage they take. Not only that but the Inkling can get across the arena quickly while avoiding other projectiles due to them dipping into the floor. A big drawback is a recharge.

Why Inkling is Great

7) Cloud

Once he reaches his limit, all bets are off. So many moves become powerful especially his projectile.

Cloud manages to strike his enemies near or further away with his sword’s massive hitbox. Not only that but his specials have great reach and become greater once his limit gauge is filled. His drawback can be that he only has one projectile, but it can be deadly once it is upgraded. He shines in his neutrals and smash-attacks.

Why Cloud is Great

6) Corrin

The morphing body parts threw me and many players off when first encountering this fighter. 

I can't tell you how many times when I first faced Corrin and got beaten because of that damn arm. It pierces the ground or, for my case, an opponent and leaves them open for a hit. Not only that but Corrin can morph their other arm into the Dragon Fang Shot which is a projectile and a great close up attack. Many of their moves have second uses and work great close up but better ranged.

Why Corrin is Great.

·      Best Reach Side-smash

·      Stun Attacks

·      Versatile Attacks

·      Wide Hitbox with Up-special

·      Multi Counter

5) Samus/Dark Samus

Samus is the original ranged fighter due to their charged shot.

The charge shot still manages to travel across the stage while dishing out the damage fully charged. Not only that but she also comes equipped with missiles and a grapple beam that can grab opponents from afar and reach ledges. If a fighter comes too close, Samus has enough power to fight them off the close range as well.

Why Samus/Dark Samus is Great

4) Palutena

Toned down from her last entry, but a more tight and focused fighter.

In her first iteration, Palutena was a weird character. She highlighted the custom-move mechanic by having about twelve different special moves. She's been cut down to four, but I guess fives since the counter and reflect are part of the same move. Her side smashes offer a lot of range due to her wings and her up beam but her special also have range. She can even teleport great distances.

Why Palutena is Great

·       Great Move-set

3) Wii-Fit Trainer

A prime example of a troll character. They are not to be underestimated.

The Trainer is one of those joke characters who turned out to have a powerful and versatile move-set. They chuck soccer balls and sunbeams across stages, hitting opponents and causing great damage. They also can enhance said moves with their meditation which allows moves to be performed faster and hit harder.

Why Wii-Fit Trainer is Great

·       Fast Fire-rate

·       Enhancable Moves

2) Snake

Still one of the great ranged fighters in the game. Snake shoots first then sets off the explosions.

Ah yes, Foxhound's very own Solid Snake. Besides being great close quarters, he excels at fighting ranged. His weapons can be shot across the screen and one, in particular, can be controlled. Another is a bomb where he can place anywhere on the map and detonate it from a wherever distance. For his up smash, he fires a missile towards the sky, covering great height. He also has wide hitboxes due to his weapon-based attacks.

Why Snake is Great.

1) Robin

I know there are many Fire Emblem characters, but that Thoron is no joke. 

A decent close fighter, they shine their best fire off their tome's magic. Each spell can be charged into three levels depending on how long you hold the button. This increases the range and the damage, making the fighter dangerous when long-ranged. Even their Elwind is a great recovery while hitting opponents from above. with all their great moves, Thoron beats them. Once Thunder is charged it is able to output a high amount of damage while being able to travel across two omega sized stages. 

Why Robin is Great
