With an increasing user-base every month, SWGOH is quickly becoming a fan-favorite mobile game. However, to be the best, you need to have the best.. Below I have compiled a list of the best stand-alone characters in the game today. It should be mentioned that these characters are all maxed to their abilities: so start saving up on those zeta materials! While the Galactic Legends characters are all represented, some of the others may surprise you.

 

10. Grand Admiral Thrawn:

Although he came from humble beginnings, Thrawn quickly rose to become one of the Emperor's wisest, most calculated Admirals.

The Chiss legendary tactician is missing after his battle with the young Jedi Ezra. However, in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes he is still strategizing ways to defeat his enemies. Thrawn can inflict his fracture ability: crippling opponents' leaders at the get-go. With his leader ability zeta’d, a squad of empire characters can prove difficult to overcome even for the mightiest of Jedi.

  • 50% counter chance when any enemy is fractured
  • Empire allies gain protection         
  • Thrawn’s Maneuver ability removes all debuffs while gaining 50% turn meter
 

9. Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker:

May the force be with you, Jedis!

The galaxy’s most respected Jedi, he has brought peace through the will of the force. As he grows his powers, he increasingly becomes tempted by the Dark Side, will he be able to resist? With his Jedi Knights Resolve zeta’d, he can lead a Jedi team to victory. With Hermit Yoda as an ally, his increased protection proves difficult to defeat.

  • Highest physical damage increase in-game    
  • Excellent Armor Penetration and Resistance Penetration
  • One of the highest Max Health’s in-game

 

8 . Darth Vader

Robot, human, demon? Many myths have circulated as to what this terrifying Sith lord is. Those that knew him never lived to tell the tale

The most famous Sith of all. The Dark Lord had a Summer 2020 rework; he has once again become a powerhouse with Dark Side teams. He deals devastating blows and with proper timing, his abilities can be used 3 times in a row after his Merciless Massacre is applied. 

  • Offense up makes him extremely powerful    
  • Works well against Jedi   
  • Culling blade deals bonus damage when an enemy has debuffs

 

7. Darth Malak:

Terror, humanized. One of the most powerful Dark side users, Malak is a seemingly unstoppable force.

While the brutal Sith tank isn’t the easiest character to unlock, he can provide a useful taunt, and with his Jaws of Life ability being zeta’d will drastically improve your team.

  • Defense, health steal, and critical avoidance increase as his health decreases  
  • Once used, dark fusion cannot be dispelled or prevented. (Dark Fusion:+35% Offense per stack, max 3 stacks)    
  • While inflicted with Shock or Fear, Sith enemies can’t gain bonus turn meter

 

6. Jedi Knight Revan:

Revan's purple lightsaber symbolizes his constant temptation and struggle with the Dark side

An Old Republic attacker, the tabled leader has a wide variety of abilities. His flexibility makes him an interesting choice among any teams. His zeta’d Direct Focus attack followed by Ferocious Charge is extremely powerful, especially against Dark Side enemies.

  • Ignores taunt (while other Jedi ally is active)
  • Immune to stun and ability block
  • With Revan active, the first time a Jedi ally is at 1% health, they recover 100% of their max health and protection

 

5. Darth Revan:

A legend for the Sith, and nightmare for the Jedi: this Sith lord will stop at nothing to achieve his goals

Scourge of the Old Republic! This ruthless Sith lord is extremely effective at defeating the enemy leader. His lacerate ability (affects team leader) can be used to its full advantage by having his villain ability zeta’d.

  • Can inflict Fear (Miss the next turn, can't use abilities, can not beevaded. Increase cool-downs by 1, and Fear expires on taking damage from an attack).    
  • When Revan’s health is below 50%, it equalizes to the healthiest ally’s current percentage

 

4. Supreme Leader Kylo Ren:

The brutal Supreme Leader will stop at nothing to earn respect throughout the galaxy

Best used with a First Order squad, a FO team equipped with a high turn meter can gain additional speed with his leader ability zeta’d. Once his ultimate charge is activated, he dispels all debuffs from himself and deals physical damage to all enemies. (this attack cant be evaded.)

  • Immune to stagger and can’t gain taunt effects (when zeta’d)    
  • Enemies defeated during his turn can not revive    
  • While in ultimate charge, Kylo Ren is immune to damage and cannot be defeated

 

3. Rey:

Rey, confident with her completed training, aims to bring balance to the galaxy

While Kylo Ren may have told her she came from nothing, Rey is taking up the continuation of the Skywalker mantle. Although farming her character shards can seem daunting, it is valuable to do so as she is one of the strongest characters in arena. Her ultimate charge requires 100% to activate, when used she can’t be defeated and upon being activated again deals true damage to the enemy team. The attack can’t be countered or evaded. While her ultimate charge is active, light side allies' damage taken is reduced to 1.

  • The first time an ally falls under 50% health, damage immunity is gained for 1 turn
  • Rey become’s inspired, if she is already inspired then another ally becomes so. Inspired: character dispels all debuffs when they use a basic ability   
  • Becomes immune to stun effects with Galactic Legend ability zeta’d
 

2. Jedi Master Luke Skywalker:

a shell of his former self, Luke Skywalker stares into the horizon. Can the battle hardened Jedi regain his faith in the force?

The man of legend himself, This older, methodical Luke is best used with a Jedi crew. While his ending led to quite the controversy, in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes Jedi Master Luke Skywalker reigns supreme amongst the light side. Make sure to mod him focusing on protection as it is a large part of his mastery. Luke’s  Legend of the Jedi zeta is a game changer if running with a Jedi squad. Jedi’s gain turn meter, protection, and are granted inherited teachings. (Inherited teachings let light side allies come to assist in attack, and gain turn meter)

  • When a light side ally falls below 100% health the first time, they regain partial health and protection, doubled for Jedis. (zeta’d)    
  • His Efflux ability deals damage to all enemies while making them lose 20% turn meter   
  • After his transformation to his heroic version, Jedi allies receive 35% offense up for the rest of the match

 

1. Sith Eternal Emperor:

Have you heard the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise?

“Stand together, die together!” One of the ultimate Galactic Legends characters, the Sith Eternal Emperor should have his So Be It, Jedi ability zeta’d immediately. This character is capable of soloing squads and does especially well against Rey. Unlike most strategies, it is useful for your opponent to have a higher turn meter, as this charges his ultimate attack, Power! Unlimited Power!

  • When a Sith ally is defeated, all other Sith allies have debuffs dispelled and recover 100% Max Protection /health (Sith Eternal zeta’d)    
  • Immune to taunt effects   
  • When his “Power! Unlimited Power!” is used, linked enemies are instantly defeated. This attack can not be evaded
