[Top 5] Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes Best Rogue One Teams

One of my favorite entries into the Star Wars universe, Rogue One has produced several great characters for the franchise and Galaxy of Heroes. Below I will list out the best Rogue One teams that will include the core members, and some surprise cameos (a character from a certain hallway scene).

5. Tighten the Grip: Grand Moff Tarkin, Director Krennic, Stormtrooper, Shoretrooper, Death Trooper

Starting off the list we have the calculating and ruthless Grand Moff Tarkin. While I believe he is in need of a rework, his Empire synergy continues to make him an excellent choice as a leader.

Tighten the Grip Unique Team Abilities:

  • Empire allies gain 30 Speed. Inflict Defense Down and Expose for 2 turns on enemies that fall below 100% Health during Empire allies' turn. This effect can't be Resisted.
  • Intimidation Tactics: Gain Potency Up for 3 turns then inflict Critical Chance Down and Offense Down for 3 turns on all enemies. Rebel enemies can't Resist these debuffs. Then gain a 15% Turn Meter for each debuffed enemy.
  • Shoretrooper’s Stand Guard: At the start of each encounter Shoretrooper gains Taunt for 1 turn. Whenever another allied Empire unit uses a Special ability, if Shoretrooper is Taunting, they gain 15% Turn Meter and Shoretrooper recovers 10% Max Health.
  • While Shoretrooper is active, Imperial Trooper allies have +10% Max Health.

Loyal to the end, K-2SO provides an excellent tank unit in any team

The fourth entry brings us to our first Light Side Rogue One characters. While Jyn Erso is an extremely competent character to run as a leader, I will be highlighting the importance of Cassian and K-2SO in this group. 

Groundwork Unique Team Abilities:

  • At the start of each encounter all Rebel allies gain Protection Up (20%) for 3 turns, all Rebel Attackers gain Defense Up for 3 turns, all Rebel Supports gain Potency Up for 3 turns, and all Rebel Tanks gain Tenacity Up for 3 turns. If K-2SO is present, he gains all of these buffs.
  • Inflict Ability Block, Defense Down, Healing Immunity, Offense Down, and Speed Down (once each) on random enemies for 2 turns. If the primary target is Empire, Expose them for 2 turns. If K-2SO is present, he is called to Assist. Then, gain a 20% Turn Meter for each debuffed enemy.
  • K-2SO’s Conductive Charge: Deal Physical damage to target enemy and Daze them for 2 turns. If Cassian Andor is present, he is called to Assist

While the fiery Rebel Jyn Erso was not committed, she quickly became one of the most important members of the Rebel Alliance

The essence of Rogue One, this team features a powerful combination of characters. Baze and Chirrut, K-2SO, and Cassian, both these duos could be the cornerstone of their own group. However, it is Jyn Erso’s leadership abilities that truly harmonize Rogue One.

Into the Fray Unique Team Abilities:

  • Rebel allies have +35% Potency and recover 5% Protection whenever they gain a buff. Enemies that suffer debuffs during Rebel allies' turns have a 50% chance to also become Exposed for 2 turns. This Expose can't be Resisted.
  • Chirrut’s Indomitable Will: Chirrut Îmwe gains +17% Counter Chance and Health Steal for each living enemy, doubled for Empire enemies. If Baze Malbus is present he also gains these bonuses.
  • Baze’s For Jedha: Baze Malbus gains Taunt and Retribution for 1 turn at the start of each encounter, whenever an enemy is defeated, and whenever Chirrut Îmwe falls below 100% Health. Baze Malbus gains a 5% Turn Meter whenever an enemy gains a buff.

2. Director of Advanced Weapons Research: Director Krennic, Death Trooper, Grand Moff Tarkin, Stormtrooper, Darth Vader

At odds with everyone, Director Krennic only seeks power. But at what cost?

The slimy Krennic will try to seize any opportunity he can, no matter the cost. In Galaxy of Heroes, he makes a formidable leader, and with the addition of his loyal Death Trooper: this team can be tough to beat. Against opponents with a higher power, it is best to team him up with Grand Admiral Thrawn when possible.

Director of Advanced Weapons Research Unique Team Abilities:

  • Empire allies gain 25% Critical Chance and 25% Potency. Debuffed enemies who are Critically Hit during an Empire ally's turn suffer Ability Block for 1 turn. This effect can't be Resisted. Empire allies recover 10% Protection whenever they score a Critical Hit.
  • Death Trooper’s Krennic’s Guard: Whenever Death Trooper scores a Critical Hit, he and Director Krennic recover 20% Health. Death Trooper has a 50% chance to gain a 100% Turn Meter whenever Director Krennic takes damage. Director Krennic can't be Critically Hit while Death Trooper is alive.
  • While Death Trooper is active, Imperial Trooper allies have +10% Health Steal.
  • Death Trooper Assault: Director Krennic deals special damage to all enemies with a 70% chance to inflict Stagger for 2 turns. If any enemies are debuffed, revive Death Trooper with 20% Health for each debuffed enemy. If Death Trooper is present, he is called to Assist

The mighty Sith Lord is a worthy addition to any team in Galaxy of Heroes

The king himself, Darth Vader tops our list off as the number 1 Rogue One team. With his rework, he remains one of the strongest characters in Galaxy of Heroes (that isn’t a Galactic Legend). The addition of Chirrut Imwe may seem strange, but his healing abilities are universal and can be applied to Light Side and Dark Side characters.

Inspiring Through Fear Unique Team Abilities:

  • Empire and Sith allies have a +30% Offense and have a 50% chance to remove 20% Turn Meter when they damage an enemy.
  • Darth Vader gains 8 Speed until the end of the encounter for each of the following: Empire ally, Sith ally, Jedi enemy, Rebel enemy
  • When Vader’s Merciless Massacre is applied, he gains Merciless and a bonus turn. Merciless:+50% Offense, +25% Critical Chance, and +50% Critical Damage; immune to Fear, Stun, and Turn Meter manipulation and Darth Vader's bonus turns do not trigger other characters' effects based on bonus turns or Turn Meter gain
  • While Darth Vader is alive, enemies immediately regain Damage Over Time for 2 turns whenever Damage Over Time expires on them
  • Chirrut’s As the Force Wills: All allies have their current Health percentages equalized. Dispel all debuffs from all allies and grant them a Heal Over Time effect for 4 turns for each effect dispelled. Allies that were not debuffed gain Tenacity Up for 3 turns.
