There are multiple ways to get crystals in Galaxy of Heroes, whether you’re purchasing them or collecting them through completing challenges; what you spend them on can increase or decrease your overall performance drastically. This list focuses on farm-to-play players, but the advice can also be used with crystal purchasers.

- While sometimes costly, using your crystals on Cantina refreshes can help you level your characters much quicker.
- Use up to 2 energy refreshes, unless you have the resources for more (after this it becomes quite expensive)
- Complete all the battles beforehand, so you have your pick of shards
- You should focus crystal uses on Cantina Energy twice a week

Another one of the best ways to use your crystals in Galaxy of Heroes is farming. When building a specific team, you need those character shards to level up. Use crystals to help speed this process up.
- Stick to one character with your energy refreshes, but only up to 100 crystal shard refreshes. After this, it is costing you more in the long run.
- Hard nodes have the best value, avoid easy
- Budget how much each character will cost you in crystals, then, farm accordingly
3. Shipments

Shipments are a forgotten resource. They provide valuable material that is hard to come across. Be wary however, the cost/value ratio can be off on some materials. Use crystals wisely.
- Check for hard to find gear
- Only spend crystals on character shards when you are in a time crunch, or close to 7 stars.
- Shipments refresh frequently, so keep an eye for any needed materials

Crystals provide a variety of uses, however, if you’re a free-to-play player you need to get them when available through a multitude of challenges and completion rewards.
- Save more crystals than you spend
- Complete all required challenges for your rewards, these crystals are easy to get and add up over time
- A higher rank in Arena will give you higher crystal rewards

- You can have all the crystals in the world, but if you don’t have an effective plan you won’t use them as efficiently as possible. This works for free-to-play and paying players.
- Create a game plan on what you want to accomplish. Want a stronger Dark side team? Figure out the best characters and squads available, then begin farming shards and gear pieces
- Think realistically: have a timetable on when each part of your plan should be completed. For example, If you only have half of the characters required for Emperor Palpatine, chances are you won’t unlock him this go around.
- While being meticulous, have fun. Yes, you should have a plan in place, but it is a game. If you want the newest character pack, treat yourself to it. (Although I strongly recommend against Chromium packs, they never come through in terms of quality materials)
