[Top 3] Team Fortress 2 Best Scout Loadouts That Are Great

In Team Fortress 2, your playstyle is influenced just as much by your loadout as it is by your class. TF2 has a wide array of weapon choices with all sorts of gimmicks that allow you to lean into certain playstyles.

While it’s widely agreed upon that the default weapons are the best and the most versatile choices, the question of “best loadouts” is so popular because playing these weapons is simply fun. And in a game like TF2, fun is  enough! So, with that aside, here are some of my favorite loadouts for the Scout from TF2.

Force-A-Nature + The Winger + Atomizer

This loadout is one among many variations of Scout loadouts involving the Force-A-Nature, which is the main piece of the loadout. The idea is to use your secondary and melee weapons to aid the function of your primary; dealing high knockback and damage at close range. In this case, the Winger and Atomizer gives the Scout extra mobility he can use to get close with the Force-A-Nature.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any video footage of this exact loadout, but the concept is still the same, as long as you’re using the Force-A-Nature. In this case, the person in the video is using the Stock Pistol and the Candy Cane, which are also viable options.

Loadout Details:

Force-A-Nature

  • +50% faster firing speed
  • Knockback on target and shooter
  • +50% bullets per shot
  • 10% damage penalty
  • -60% clip size

The Winger

  • +15% damage bonus
  • +25% greater jump height when active
  • -60% clip size

Atomizer

  • Grants triple jump when deployed
  • Melee attacks mini-crit when airborne
  • -15% damage vs. players
  • This weapon deploys 50% slower

Advantages:

  • The Winger and Atomizer provide boosts to the Scout’s vertical mobility, adding onto the Force-A-Nature’s capability of giving Scout a third jump.
  • This vertical mobility can then be used to get as close to enemies as possible, using unconventional routes to throw off their aim and dealing as much damage and knockback as possible.
  • The Force-A-Nature deals a very high amount of damage and knockback on close range. The Scout can knock enemies away or quickly pick enemies off!

Force-A-Nature + The Flying Guillotine + The Sandman

Unlike the previous loadout, the main piece of this loadout is the Sandman and Flying Guillotine combination. The idea is to stun the enemy with the Sandman’s ability to bat a ball at enemies, then hit them with the Guillotine. Unlike Scout’s primary, this combination is effective at mid to long range, which gives him the ability to effectively damage enemies while closing the distance.

Unfortunately, ever since the Sandman has been nerfed, it has lost its ability to stun people. This loadout has seen little use due to that nerf. However, as the video demonstrates, it still has its uses, especially when paired with the Force-A-Nature, which can knock enemies back in a single direction, making aiming with the Guillotine easier.

Loadout Details:

Force-A-Nature

  • +50% faster firing speed
  • Knockback on target and shooter
  • +50% bullets per shot
  • 10% damage penalty
  • -60% clip size

The Flying Guillotine

  • Throw at your enemies to make them bleed. Long distance hits reduce recharge time.
  • No random critical hits.

The Sandman

  • Alt-Fire: Launches a ball that slows opponents.
  • -15 max health on wearer.

Advantages:

  • The Guillotine and the Sandman allows the Scout to stall enemies at longer ranges while closing in.
  • The Force-A-Nature’s knockback provides an opportunity for the Scout to line up an attack with the Guillotine, dealing bleeding damage and giving Scout the edge in a fight.

Backscatter + Pretty Boy’s Pocket Pistol + The Sandman

This Scout loadout is a lot more gimmicky than the others and, unlike the Sandman, the Backscatter was always a rather mediocre sidegrade to the Scattergun. However, I think that its concept (being a mini-Spy by dealing mini-crits when shooting enemies from behind) is fun enough to try and make it work, which is certainly possible, as the video demonstrates.

The concept of this loadout is to use the Scout’s mobility to get behind enemy lines, and use the Backscatter to deal mini-crits by shooting the backs of opponents. It’s a similar playstyle to the Spy, but the Scout doesn’t have quite the same tools, so you’ll have to be very crafty to manage with this loadout!

Loadout Details:

The Backscatter

  • Mini-crits targets when fired at their back from close range.
  • -34% clip size
  • No random critical hits.
  • 20% less accurate

Pretty Boy’s Pocket Pistol

  • +15% faster firing speed
  • On Hit: Gain up to +3 health
  • -25% clip size

The Sandman

  • Alt-Fire: Launches a ball that slows opponents.
  • -15 max health on wearer.

Advantages:

  • The Sandman can be used to slow enemies down, giving you either an advantage in a fight or a chance to escape.
  • Use the Pretty Boy’s Pocket Pistol to gain health in a fight, making you less reliant on healing sources.
