[Top 3] Team Fortress 2 Best Sniper Loadouts That Are Great
In Team Fortress 2, your playstyle isn’t only decided by your class, but your loadout as well. TF2 has a wide array of weapon choices with all sorts of gimmicks that allow you to lean into certain playstyles.
However, the Sniper is a different case from other class loadouts. Many of its weapons (with one exception) don’t significantly change his playstyle or role. You’re still meant to stay in the backlines and score headshots on targets. His different sniper rifles are just variations on how you can approach that role. Nonetheless, here are three of my favorite sniper loadouts!
1. Bazaar Bargain + SMG + Kukri
When you’ve equipped the Bazaar Bargain, your playstyle revolves around one simple goal; scoring as many headshots as possible in a single life. The Bazaar Bargain rewards such proactive behavior from an otherwise static class and any other secondary/melee weapon can be used in support of this playstyle.
I would also recommend using the Razorback (for safety against spies) or the Cozy Camper (for easier aim), if you think that you’re not using the SMG during your match.
Loadout Details:
Bazaar Bargain
- Base charge rate decreased by 50%.
- Each scoped headshot kill increases the weapon’s charge rate by 25% up to 200%.
SMG
Kukri
Advantages:
- In exchange for an initial debuff, the Bazaar Bargain challenges you to get as many headshots as you can in one life. If you do, you’re rewarded with a faster charge rate, allowing you to score high-damage shots easier and faster than the stock sniper rifle.
2. The Huntsman + Darwin’s Danger Shield + Tribalman’s Shiv
The Huntsman is the Sniper’s only primary weapon that significantly changes his playstyle. Instead of a sniper rifle, you’re equipped with a single-fire bow that can score headshots without having to zoom in a scope. This allows Sniper to stick to its aim-and-headshot gameplay while giving him a place at mid-close range fights.
While the player in the video used the Darwin’s Danger Shield and the Tribalman’s Shiv, these two can be swapped out for other options. The most common ones being the default SMG and Kukri, which can be used to back up the Huntsman, if it lands a hit but doesn’t kill.
Loadout Details:
The Huntsman
Darwin’s Danger Shield
- +50% fire damage resistance on wearer
- Immune to the effects of afterburn
Tribalman’s Shiv
- On Hit: Bleed for 6 seconds
- 50% Damage Penalty
Advantages:
- Allows the Sniper to participate in mid and close-range combat while still being lethal by retaining his ability to score headshots with the Huntsman.
3. Machina + Cozy Camper + Kukri
Under normal circumstances, the Machina is a rifle meant for staying at long range, dealing mass amounts of damage with its damage buffs and its ability to penetrate through players. However, the player in the video takes it a step further and tries a playstyle that involves getting close to the enemy lines to score easier shots with the Machina.
It’s a very gimmicky playstyle and it won’t always work depending on the match you’re playing, but as the video shows, it’s still a very fun experience, even if you get vote-kicked a lot! The secondary and melee weapons can be switched out for other options as well. I recommend using the default SMG to make up for the Machina’s inability to fire when not scoped.
Loadout Details:
The Machina
- On Full Charge: +15% damage per shot
- On Full Charge: Projectiles penetrate players
- Cannot fire unless zoomed
- Fires tracer round
Cozy Camper
- +4 health regenerated per second on wearer.
- No flinching when aiming and fully charged.
- Knockback reduced by 20% when aiming.
Kukri
Advantages:
- Use the combination of the Machina and Cozy Camper to get as many advantages as you can when fully charged. At mid or close range, the Cozy Camper can help you aim even when under fire, allowing you to aim Machina shots and deal mass amounts of damage!
