There are multiple factors in Valorant that allow players to outplay others, but there are two that matter most: aim and agents.
Which agent you play is the first choice you make whenever you load into a game of Valorant, and that is by design. No other factor in the game can dictate how you play more than your choice of agent, so knowing who to pick is as important as knowing how to aim.
With an ever-growing number of agents to choose from, it can sometimes be a struggle to find your main. Luckily, you’ve come across the perfect list.
As of patch 5.03, these are the best agents in all of Valorant!
S Tier
Fade (S Tier Initiator)
Fade’s signature ability is called Haunt. Hanut can detect enemies, much like Sova’s Recon Bolt. On top of that, Haunt creates trails that allow Fade to pinpoint enemy locations and easily send Prowlers that cause nearsight.
With an unmatched ability to gather information with very little effort, Fade easily ranks as the number one agent in all of Valorant.
Chamber (S Tier Sentinel)
The reason Chamber is so broken, and likely the reason he will forever remain broken is Rendezvous. Rendezvous allows Chamber to teleport on command. This allows him to play off angles that would otherwise ensure certain death.
If the teleport wasn’t enough, Chamber’s ultimate provides him a free Operator with an upgraded fire rate.
KAY/O (S Tier Initiator)
Aside from suppression, KAY/O also has great utility with the ability to throw flashes for his team, throw molly-like grenades, and even detect the presence of enemy agents.
A Tier
Neon (A Tier Duelist)
What Neon provides better than any agent is speed. With High Gear, Neon can slide into a site and take first blood in the blink of an eye. Beyond that, she also provides a wall that can cover angles and Relay Bolts that can cause a concussion.
If you’re the type to rush into battle first, then look no further!
Jett (A Tier Duelist)
Although she isn’t as good as she used to be, Jett is still a force to be reckoned with and her dash still allows her to play dangerous off angles and not be punished for it.
Breach (A Tier Initiator)
Breach excels at locking down enemies with a barrage of status effects. This allows you to set up for teammates and provide them with easy kills.
The only downside to Breach is teamwork. Working with the four random teammates you get can be a challenge.
Raze (A Tier Duelist)
Raze is all about big explosions. She is packed with rocket launchers, grenades, and even a droid that can scout for her… and also explode.
Phoenix (A Tier Duelist)
Unlike other duelists that aim to pull off flashy plays on the regular, Phoenix is all about helping out the team with walls and winning duels with perfectly placed flashes.
And when the itch to be flashy arrives, you can always rely on Run it Back.
Omen (A Tier Controller)
As a controller, Omen has the godly ability to block angles with smokes and nearsight enemies.
When not providing valuable cover for his team, Omen can create off angles with a teleportation ability.
Omen’s ultimate allows him to teleport anywhere on the map. This allows him to instantly rotate to any site or instantly flank the enemy team.
Sage (A Tier Sentinel)
And don’t be mistaken, Sage is more than just your healer. Sage can easily hold off enemy pushes on her own with a single wall.
Sova (A Tier Initiator)
And once every enemy has been found, there is nothing more devastating than Sova’s ultimate, Hunter’s Fury.
Although Fade has recently eclipsed Sova’s greatness, the Russian archer will always have a place at the top.
B Tier
Yoru (B Tier Duelist)
Yoru is the quintessential trickster, creating decoys and faking teleports to confuse his foes. There are moments when Yoru can appear broken with insanely flashy outplays, but the one thing Yoru lacks for certain is consistency.
Chaos can be hard to create over and over, but even though Yoru is in B tier, a great Yoru player can make him feel like the best agent in the game.
Astra (B Tier Controller)
If having your presence felt anywhere on the map is something you might be interested in, then Astra is the agent for you.
Viper (B Tier Controller)
Toxic constructs that can obstruct vision and decay the enemy's armor, that is what Viper is most known for.
Viper is one of the few agents in Valorant that can completely take a site by denying vision. With her absurdly long wall and Poison Orb, she can execute site setups like no other.
The only thing that holds Viper back is her situational usefulness. In some maps having a Viper in your team can be godly, but in others, she is easily overtaken by other agents.
Skye (B Tier Initiator)
As an agent capable of setting up duels for teammates and even healing them after, Skye provides unmatched utility for her team. The only issue with her jack-of-all-trades play style is that she is a master of none.
Killjoy (B Tier Sentinel)
Armed with nothing but a turret, traps, and a few swap grenades Killjoy is capable of denying entry to any would-be attacker.
Like Viper, however, Killjoy is more a situational pick depending on the map being played.
Brimstone (B Tier Controller)
On top of a smoke, Brimstone can also aid his team with a trusty stim beacon.
With a simple kit and powerful area-denying abilities, Brimstone will always be a great agent to choose.
C Tier
Reyna (C Tier Duelist)
Though she was often credited as the best solo queue agent, Reyna has since been outgrown by other duelists in Valorant who can provide good utility, even if they can’t provide kills at the moment.
D Tier
Cypher (D Tier Sentinel)
Cypher is the agent with the worst ultimate ability. On top of that, all his abilities have been completely power crept by agents that are simply better than he is.
Though Cypher mains still exist, I’m sure even they can agree that their main needs an overhaul.
