Refer to this video by Virtual Panda if you ever plan on getting invested into VRChat, and wish to find avatars to use of your own. This video is by far one of the best videos to have a head start on where a player should look into for avatars, specifically by going to avatar worlds (and even avatar search worlds) to find something that fits them best
When it comes to the world of VRChat, the amount of avatars is limitless, and there’s so many to choose from. Whether it be from your favorite games or shows, to some of your favorite internet memes or just genuinely beautiful designs, VRChat is the game to go to to find something that fits you best. In this list, we’ll be going over some of the best looking avatars, albeit based mostly off of my own opinion because there’s no singular subjective way to judge the best looking avatars on VRChat

There isn’t much backstory to this model, however, I absolutely adore the design it goes for, let alone the shark tail that it comes with. Not only that, the model itself comes with lots of clothing and hair customization that allows you to change the character however you see fit. Clothing customization allows for you to change some tops and bottoms as well as allowing the player to add more accessories, while the hair has 3 options of more female-esque or male-esque hair designs.
Not only that, the world has lots of options featuring the same base design by the creator Comet, so be sure to visit the world to give their models a shot!
#13 George Foreman Grill Protogen, by Glitch Skirata
Found in Glitch’s Protogen Avatars
When it comes to furry avatars, the Protogen genre of avatars are by far the most popular… and with good reason too. They’re slick in terms of their design, incredibly customizable, and have lots of facial features and body expressions that can be tailored for just about any player.
This one in particular I enjoy for its clean colors of black and white, but I do adore the facial expression options this one offers as well. There’s also an additional option to make the avatar’s tail wag when the player is AFK, which is an absolutely adorable addition to the avatar.
#12 Kimiko, by Mai♡
Found in Mai’s Avatar World
Humanoid avatars can be incredibly pretty, and this avatar is no exception to that belief at all. Featuring a base brown color palette, the player is also able to adjust the colors of the outfit to whichever they want, on top of being able to add/subtract clothing pieces to the avatar. With that as well, the player is able to change the avatar’s hair color, even allowing the classic constantly changing colors of RGB
Not only that, the avatar comes with a bunch of prop toggles too: toast, glasses, facemasks, and much more. There’s also a toggle for an Among Us Crewmate pet that follows the player around everywhere, how cute!
#11 Madeline, by ilikecorndogs
Found in Corndog’s uploaded avatars
Based off of Madeline from the popular platforming game Celeste, this avatar replicates the original artstyle of Madeline incredibly well, as well as having some neat visual toggles and props. It allows the player to change Madeline’s hair color, add a strawberry or backpack prop to the model, and even change into her alternate form Badeline.
As this is one of my favorite video games ever, I was bound to come across a Madeline avatar eventually, but this is by far one of my favorite Madeline models that VRChat has to offer to players.
#10 Empapua, by Whataman
Found in Japan Avatars Hub 2022
I have a bit of a bias for jellyfish-based avatars, but this is personally one of my favorites to appear as of lately. It doesn’t offer a lot of prop, emote, or gesture options, but it does allow the player to change the color of their model as they want… albeit it’s very limited with color choice.
Besides that, it’s a really nice jellyfish avatar and would highly recommend taking it up!
#9 Andi, by CodeAldnoah
Found in Enominya Andi Avatar Pedestal Showcase
This avatar is an original character, but it gives off large amounts of magical girl vibes to it. There’s lots of ways to change the avatar up such as changing the characters expressions, and adding/subtracting some clothing from her model however you see fit.
In addition to all of that, she’s quite a bright model in some worlds, which really makes her stand out a lot. Not only that, there’s lots of nice flowy physics with the clothes on the avatar, which really adds to the experience!
#8 Synth-Rusk, by oxooo
Found in Azur Infiniti
Rusk avatars are by far the most popular set of avatars available within VRChat, and they’re available in many flavors too: cartoonish, Mario-themed, Devil May Cry-themed, spooky, specific color-themed, and way more options. However, the one that stands out to me the most is the Synth-Rusk avatar, which is just a Rusk avatar with a synthwave-themed flavor.
Synthwave is one of my favorite musical genres, but the looks of the avatar itself are also quite nice as neon is one of my favorite personal designs with things; bright purples, reds, oranges, yellows, and just about any other bright color.
When it comes to this Rusk avatar, it has lots of props such as VHS’s, keyboards, glasses, and even allows the player to be a walking jukebox of synthwave. Not only that, it also has lots of options for emotes and gestures to truly give off the vibe that you’re at a party with synthwave blasting in the background.
#7 Hina, by Prima
Found in Blue Archive Schale
This model is based off of Hina from Blue Archive, one of the more popular and fan favorite characters from the game. The purple and black colors on her outfit and general attire are super pretty, let alone the oversized coat is really nice too. In terms of props, this outfit offers held firearms and also a firearm holster, as well as adjusting her halo, jacket, and wings. She doesn’t offer all too many emotes or gestures, unfortunately, but the quality of the avatar makes up for it already.
It’s certainly a nice avatar, but there’s still a bunch more to talk about that I absolutely adore.
#6 Popcat, by Topi_
Found in Just POP!!
This is an avatar based off of the legendary Popcat meme back in 2020. It looks simple at face value, but there’s a bunch of physics and additions that really add to its quality, where the player moving around will lead to the avatar moving like a sort of bobblehead. Not only that, there’s also a toggle that allows the player to pop frequently, even with the classic “pop” sound effect that goes with it too.
May not be very pretty to some, but it has some incredible meme value for those who wish to goof around with it and be silly!
#5 Elysia, by * Sleepy *
Found in Sleepy’s Avatar Teahouse
The model is a recreation of a very prominent character in Honkai Impact 3rd’s story, Elysia, who has become what’s essentially a form of “god” representing humanity itself, and her beauty radiating the love she has for humanity as well.
The model itself features tons of props and extra additions to the model. Some of the props include weapon toggles such as bows and staves, as well as adding extra parts to her outfits like some extra rings, bells, and even a pet pink manta ray that follows the player around everywhere! It’s an adorable addition
Would highly recommend it due to how accurate it is to the character, on top of lots of incredibly fitting props to add to her incredibly pink design.
#4 BeegSmolSanaEN, by BluezKaito
Found in Hololive Galaxy
Based off of one of Hololive English’s Vtuber content creators, this design was created by Sana herself before she’d finally leave Hololive to pursue other content creation paths. She was a joy to watch for many people, so being able to see her immortalized within the VRChat realm is quite a beautiful sight
The model features props such as a big bread car, comically large wearable crocs, as well as lots of expressions to choose from such as fear, sleepy, or happy faces

#3 Nanachi, by Averiff
Found via Prismic’s Avatar Search
Based on Nanachi from Made in Abyss, she’s an absolute fluffball of a character that has a much darker history to her than meets the eye. But of course, we’ll be paying more attention to looks, props, and other options available with the model.
With this avatar, there’s options to add/unadd her hat and armor, spawning a dome called the Safety Tent, make silly noises, and also spawn her friend Mitty to walk around any world with her. There’s lots of fun to be had with this Nanachi avatar
#2 Namielle, by KingPilot
Found in KingPilot’s Avatar World
Based on Namielle from one of Capcom’s most popular video game series, Monster Hunter, this avatar really allows you to become the monster. It’s a perfect replica of the monster from the game itself, and not only that, it allows you to really roleplay as the monster: perform actions like the monster such as flying around, roaring loudly, and even being knocked down just like how it is in the game.
It’s a beautiful model, and albeit it’s incredibly intrusive to one’s vision, it does give you quite a lot of options to really make the player feel like the monster.

#1 Jill Stingray LITE, by iDreamTheater
Found in The Midnight Bar
The model is a recreation of the main character Julianne Stingray, also known as Jill, from the hit cyberpunk bartending game VA-11 HA11-A. Visually, it’s a pixel game, but it’s a visual novel that allows you to take up the role of Jill, just casually serving drinks to customers and saving lives along the way, however way you wish to go about it anyways.
Within VRChat, the model itself replicates Jill incredibly well, maintaining her in-game looks along with a bit of VRChat-specific flare. Not only that, the model itself gives the player options to change their look (coat, casual shirt), provide props (cigarettes, a drink shaker), change expressions on the fly, and even become a walking jukebox.
I would highly recommend this model just due to how accurate it is to the character, let alone allowing any player to easily fit into the role of Jill Stingray.
