Sniper rifles are known for their devastating single target damage and pinpoint accurate shots. But anyone who has played Warframe knows that players prefer weapons that can efficiently clear out hordes of enemies without much thought.
That doesn't mean snipers don't have a place in the game. Though they're most often seen during Eidolon hunts, some bring practicality that makes them viable for regular missions.
5) Komorex
The Komorex defies all preconceived notions of a sniper rifle. Instead of relying on critical chance, it depends on applying status effects. In fact, it has the lowest base damage of all snipers. However, with its large magazine size and fast rate of fire, it also defies the stigma that sniper rifles can't work in regular missions. In addition, the Komorex has two unique zoom modes: zoom once to reduce recoil and add punch through, or zoom twice to fire a viral round that explodes on contact.
- Second highest status chance of all sniper rifles at 35%.
- Fastest fire rate of all sniper rifles at 6.
There's no reason to try out the Komorex since the blueprint is easily researched at the Dojo's Energy Lab.
4) Sporothrix
A potent status sniper rifle, this infested weapon shoots viral laced barbs, which explodes in a small radius. Sporothrix is a viable weapon for players interested in the sniper class but can't land consistent headshots since it relies more on its insane base status chance. To top that off, the delayed explosion after the initial hit also applies status separately.
- Second highest status chance of all weapons at 53%.
- High base critical multiplier at 3x.
- A prime candidate for a bleed build based around its high slash.
The Sprothrix requires a significant amount of time to acquire as the component and blueprints drop from Level 50-60 Isolation Vault Bounties. Fortunately, players can trade the parts between each other.
3) Lanka
Lanka is a reliable sniper for Eidolon hunts. This railgun's charged shot comes with a high critical chance and innate electricity, which is one element needed for radiation. Additionally, it has a high riven disposition with relatively cheap rivens on the market.
- Shots are projectile; hence they need to be led on a moving target.
- + 50% critical chance on the third zoom.
The Lanka is acquired through researching the blueprint in the Dojo's Energy Lab.
2) Vectis Prime
The Vectis Prime is the Primed version of the original Vectis sniper rifle. Even though the magazine size is small with only two bullets in the chamber, it more than makes up for this with its raw power. If the list were based on the look and feel of the snipers, Vectis Prime would take the top spot.
- Fastest reload speed of all sniper rifles.
- It Synergizes well with (Primed) Charged Chamber because of its fast reload speed and small magazine.
The Vectis Prime's blueprint and components can be acquired through cracking open Void Relics. Since it's currently vaulted, it can also be traded with other players.
1) Rubico Prime
The Rubico Prime is the Primed version of the regular Rubico, a sniper rifle in the style of a revolver. It is the best sniper in the game because it boasts the highest critical chance of all sniper rifles and its forgiving magazine size and fire rate. Thus, not only is it an ideal choice for Eidolon hunts, but it is also practical for regular missions.
- Tied with Sporothrix for the best critical multiplier of all sniper rifles.
- Fastest fire rate of all the snipers.
- Easy to rack up combo multiplier because of the small start-up requirement.
As with any Primes, you can earn the component and blueprints by opening Void Relics or trading with other players.
