[Top 10] Watch Dogs: Legion - Best Masks

Best Masks
Updated:
16 Nov 2023

Masks are used for more than just robbing banks and crime despite what TV and movies depict. In Watch Dogs: Legion, masks are used to protect your operatives and keep their identity a secret from the overbearing security of Albion and Clan Kelley.

But don’t worry, there are no secrets here!

Today, we’ll be talking not only about the best masks in the game but also where to find them.

10. Paper Pig Gold

The Golden Pig - worth even more praise than a golden cow!

This paper mâché pig mask comes in various colors: pink, silver, and gold. But I believe the flashiness of gold is a perfect fit for the resistance.

This mask is stunning in this metallic shade, but there’s more to it than just beauty. Gold represents the fight against hoarded wealth, while the pig shape symbolizes the struggle against the pigs of the Legion Universe - Albion.

How to Acquire:

This mask is found in the borough of Nine Elms in the Embassy Garden, which is a public access area. It is located on a balcony so it is recommended to use a cargo drone to reach this area.

9. Hackbot

This killing machine is low-cost, made of cardboard!

This mask is for gamers who like to present themselves as light-hearted and playful while taking down enemies. There are a variety of different versions of the cardboard box mask, such as the plain or angry one. But this colorful cardboard masterpiece is by far my favorite.

And look at those eyes! Aren’t they just adorable? I bet Albion and Clan Kelley would surrender in a heartbeat.

How to Acquire:

The Hackbot Mask resides on the roof of a building in Camden Market. This area is located at the very top of the Camden borough when looking at the map. I suggest using a cargo drone to help you get to this location.

8. Alpha2Zero

Show Albion you don’t mind getting messy with the Alpha2Zero Mask!

This mask is a more colorful design based on the standard gas mask in the game. It has accents of pink and blue, as well as a design that makes your operative look like they took paintballs to the face.

The Alpha2Zero Mask is aesthetically perfect for operatives with an artistic background, or even just civilians that carry a paintball gun.

How to Acquire:

To add this mask to your wardrobe, you must complete a side mission called “Royal Treatment.”

After you complete the 404 storyline in the campaign mode, a character named Nowt will appear in the safehouse. If you speak to her, she will periodically give you side missions throughout the story, with her sixth and final mission being “Royal Treatment.”

(Be aware that you must finish the other five quests that Nowt offers before this one becomes available.)

“Royal Treatment” requires multiple tasks, such as locating and photographing abandoned mansions, accessing networks, and infiltrating restricted areas. After this mission is finished, you will have completed the achievement titled “A Roof Over Your Head,” and will receive the following:

  • Nowt Collectibles (Text Files)
  • 700 ETO

And finally: the awesome Alpha2Zero mask!

7. Night Black Prince

Image
Body Image
The type of knight you weren’t expecting to save you!

The Night Black Prince Mask is a dark spin on a classic knight helmet found throughout history and other games. There are other colors and designs in the game, but the crown and all-black metal of this mask is both sleek and elegant.

And best of all, it’s easy to find!

How to Acquire:

This mask can be found in Cemetery Park, which is at the top right corner of the Tower Hamlets borough. This park is patrolled by Clan Kelley and the mask is inside a room which is locked.

If you want to stay stealthy, there is a Spiderbot entrance on the side of the building. If you prefer a more aggressive playstyle, you can shoot at the closed circuit terminal through the window on the side of the building. The door will then be unlocked and you will be able to collect the mask inside.

6. Konefal

Keep a watchful eye with the Konefal mask.

This pale yellow mask has an interesting design that resembles monsters and has eyeballs on it. The eye being in the center of the mask made me think of the evil eye which is a symbol of protection against negative energy.

Personally I love the design on this mask but it is unclear what the origin and meaning of the illustration is. Watch Dogs Wiki named this mask “Konefal,” although I couldn’t find the meaning behind this name. If anyone knows, drop it down in the comments!

How to Acquire:

This unique mask can be found at the Southwark Incinerator, which is right next to the southern border of the borough of Southwark. It is a restricted area that is controlled by Clan Kelley.

Once you go into the building, go all the way up the stairs and to the right there will be a ladder. Climb up the ladder and the mask will be in the right corner.

5. London Bites

Dedsec - the climbing royalty of London’s underground.

London Bites is a vibrant version of the Horse Guard Mask. The purple areas of the mask are accentuated with gold, making its aesthetic royal and elegant. This is contrasted with the lower half of the mask with flashing lights that show sharp teeth biting down.

It’s time to prove to the corrupted forces that London really does bite.

How to Acquire:

To acquire this mask, you must first complete “Smoking Gun,” which is the fifth mission of the SIRS storyline. This specific mission involves defending drones and rescuing operatives. For the sake of avoiding spoilers, I won’t say any more!

4. Legendary Lion of the Thames

Image
Body Image
Please spare me, King of London!

I truly wanted to title this section “King of the Jungle,” because that’s what this mask screams to me. With the protection of this lion mask, your operatives could be kings or saviors of London.

This mask has a crown that flaunts the title of “King,” making it clear to enemies that DedSec is in charge and ready to defend. Golden glowing eyes could traumatize enemies wide and far, giving them nightmares.

That is, if you keep them alive.

How to Acquire:

To acquire the Legendary Lion of Thames, you must complete “The Malik Dossier” mission, which is yet another objective in the SIRS storyline. This mission has major spoilers, but I can tell you what type of activities to expect. Be prepared to destroy drones, fight through enemies and reboot multiple servers.

3. King Richard Fireth

Image
Body Image
This mask is so cool it will make your jaw drop!

The King Richard Fireth Mask is one of my favorites of all time. The discoloration of the skull is not only menacing, but it also has wax dripping down the front. And the best part of all - it has actual flames that move and don’t go out!

I’m starting to sound like an infomercial now, aren’t I?

How to Acquire:

This flaming mask is in the City of Westminster borough, specifically at the Perry Harris Redevelopment site. This area is restricted and patrolled by Clan Kelley. The mask itself is located on top of a scaffolding, so having a cargo drone could help you go right over Clan Kelley’s heads.

2. The Merge

Image
Body Image
Glow as bright as DedSec’s future with The Merge mask!

The Merge is exactly what it sounds like - a merge between the original skull masks and the futuristic vibe of the game. The glowing purple and green is a color scheme that is rarely ever seen in Watch Dogs: Legion, making this mask shine above the others.

How to Acquire:

To obtain this mask, you must finish all missions in Project OMNI, which is a type of online mode.

Players and the creators of Legion claim that these quests are extremely difficult and are “high-intensity.” For that reason, this mode can only be unlocked when you reach level 5 in online. It is recommended to play this mode with four players, but only three are required.

There are five missions in Project OMNI. They are listed below:

  • Kept Under Glass
  • Mindjack
  • Deep Thought
  • Mind Master
  • From Within

Once all of these are complete, you will receive the following:

  • 5,400 ETO
  • 600 XP
  • Weapon Skin

And last but not least: The Merge Mask!

1. Defalt Mask

Image
Body Image
A villain or a hero  - sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference.

The Defalt mask is not only unique in the way it looks, it also has a significance to the Watch Dogs series. The mask resembles a rat and is worn by an antagonist in the first Watch Dogs game named JB Markowicz.

This means it earns points for its cool appearance and nostalgia for long-term players of the series.

How to Acquire:

The Defalt Mask also differs in that it can only be found at a certain time: at 2 AM in-game time.

To find it, first fast travel to Cannon Street, which is at the most southern point in the City of London borough. Keep going south towards the river and you will see an orange ladder that leads down into the water.

Once you are in the water, you will see a door with a padlock on it. Swim up to the door and it will give you the option to open it. After the loading screen is done, travel further into the area and you will easily find the mask.
