Dreams are often described as building castles in the sky. Something that isn’t real, and won’t easily become real. ‘Airborne Kingdom’ turns dreams into reality with literal cities built in the sky. ‘Airborne Kingdom’ is a city-builder, but everything that gets built is built high up in the clouds.
According to Windows Central “Airborne Kingdom breathes new life into the city-building genre with its unique concept, innovative mechanics, and enjoyable exploration.” Windows Central rated the game 4.5/5.
According to developers, the “mythical” ‘Airborne Kingdom’ was a massive metropolis up in the sky that “united all the nations of the world under its banner.” However, the city disappeared and without it to guide and rule the other nations, they fell apart and disintegrated.
In ‘Airborne Kingdom’ players are required to build a new ‘Airborne Kingdom,’ starting with a small airborne town and gradually expanding and improving it, building it up into a new metropolis to rival the power and prestige of the old one.
As they expand, players must modify their city to keep it afloat, with more lift for increased load, etc. Additionally, players must collect and manage resource collection and manufacturing, ensuring that their citizens have access to everything they need including food, shelter, healthcare, and recreational facilities to keep them happy, among other things.
The game includes a lot of exploring, searching for secrets and clues to the way the old city worked and functioned on a daily basis. This information can help to build up players’ cities into the greatest airborne city of all time.
‘Airborne Kingdom’ is developed by ‘The Wandering Band LLC’ and is available on Steam.
