Animals have been living alongside humans for thousands of years. Over time, plenty of different animals species have become domesticated, and as such, have become the responsibility of their owners to look after and care for. However, animal abuse and neglect are extremely common, resulting in animals that are without owners or owners who care for them.

‘Animal Shelter: Prologue’ puts players in charge of a small animal shelter. Players must find and rescue a variety of stray pets, bringing them back to the shelter to be processed and taken care of.

Injured rescue animals must be given medical attention and have their wounds and diseases treated. Players must then clean up the animals and put them comfortably in their new home at the animal shelter. They must be fed and kept healthy.

At the animal shelter, due to a large number of different animals in the same space, there is bound to be a potential conflict. Players must make sure that the animals do not tear each other apart when they are together and not in their separate cages.

They must complete a variety of different tasks related to running an animal shelter, including taking the dogs for walks, feeding the animals, keeping the shelter clean, and conducting general maintenance.

As the game progresses players can expand their shelter to include more animals., being sure to give rescued animals plenty of love and attention to keep them healthy and happy. The end goal is for rescued animals to be given to new, loving homes where their owners will love them and care for them.
