Music is one of the things that has united people across the globe for centuries. An incredible example of this was the soldiers in the trenches of WW1 taking a break on Christmas to sing Christmas carols together.
Making music is what drives some people in life, and others are motivated and driven by the music they listen to. Music can bring joy and sadness. ‘Sonority’ is a puzzle game built specifically with the goal in mind to make solving puzzles more rewarding with epic tunes being made as puzzles are solved.
The puzzles in ‘Sonority’ are music puzzles. They must be solved by the correct arrangement of musical notes that will unlock and solve the puzzle with an epic tune. According to developers, the game requires no musical knowledge to play and is easy to learn and follow.
The main protagonist of the game is named Esther, and in her journey of exploration and puzzle-solving, she is aided by singing rocks and a talking raccoon. Raccoons have a reputation for being incredibly smart and cute so it's no wonder that the developers chose a talking raccoon as the perfect feel-good problem-solving companion.
Esther’s journey takes her back in time to an era of music and art that has been lost in silence as the world has lost its love and taste for beautiful music. The story explores not only music but “mossy works of art” akin to historical artifacts and sites found in ancient Mayan temples and settlements.
