Deckbuilding card games are one of the oldest forms of video games and are similar to many original card-based deckbuilding games in real life. What makes deck builders great are the endless possibilities for different card combinations and unique storylines.
‘For the Warp’ is a roguelike deckbuilding game set in a future where space travel and trade are everyday experiences. Players are part of a team working a highly dangerous trade route in space.
The crap hits the fan when their closest warp gate was put out of action, forcing players to take their team on a long and dangerous mission through space to reach the nearest functional warp gate.
Succeeding in this endeavor will not only save the lives of the player and their crew but will make them all stinking rich if they can safely deliver their valuable cargo.
‘For the Warp’ has 6 different spaceships for players to choose from. Each ship has unique characteristics that can have a significant impact on the battlefield and will be uniquely suited to different playstyles.
The worlds in ‘For the Warp’ are procedurally generated, making each run different from the previous one and keeping the story interesting. As players explore the galaxies they will need to fight enemies, evade natural hazards, and pull whatever stunts are necessary to keep them alive.
There are 120 different cards for players to play, giving them a plethora of options for badass card decks. Players can stock up on ammo, repair their ships, and keep their crew fed and happy with 34 different equipment/supply cards.
‘For the Warp’ is being developed by ‘Massive Galaxy Studios,’ and came out on Steam on March 28, 2022.
