Aleks is a tech writer based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

On top of his 23+ years of gaming, he also holds a National Diploma in Information Technology - for which he attained 23 distinctions across 26 subjects - and a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language.

From the age of 12, he has been able to disassemble and reassemble computer systems. These skills came in very handy for discovering LAN - a technology that would consume years of his and his friends' lives.

He has a lifelong passion for information technology, PC gaming, Star Wars, music, and Internet culture in general and looks forward to sharing his views with other like-minded individuals.

In his free time, Aleks is also a contributor and copy editor for the English Wikipedia where he has made hundreds of meaningful contributions, including several articles.

Some of his favourite games include (but are not limited to) Star Wars: Battlefront, Knights of the Old Republic I and II, Age of Empires III, StarCraft 2, Borderlands and Borderlands 2, Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth, Plants Vs Zombies, and Call of Duty.
