Heroes (and Villains) are the most powerful reinforcements you can summon to the battlefront, each with its own unique set of abilities. These abilities and the general playstyle of the particular character benefit significantly from using the right Star Cards.

Generally, Heroes and Villains have at least three abilities to dominate their foes and aid their allies. The player can use up to three Star Cards to increase these abilities’ effectiveness or improve the effectiveness of a unit’s damage output, maximum HP, stamina, and other attributes.

This guide will explore the best combinations of cards to use for each character and how to maximize your lethality, robustness, and efficiency as one of the most mighty units on the battlefront.

1.
Yoda (Agility + Jedi Mentor + Feel The Force)

“Do, or do not. There is no try.”

Master Yoda is one of the most iconic Star Wars characters in the entire saga. Known for his short stature and odd speech patterns, he is a great support unit that can inflict a lot of damage on units that get too close.

He is armed with his green lightsaber, as first seen in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, and he has three abilities: Unleash, Presence, and Dash Attack. Yoda is available in the Original and Prequel trilogy eras.

Unleash is a Force ability that damages units in a cone in front of Yoda, with the damage and range growing when he blocks enemy fire.

Presence is an ability that benefits Yoda and his immediate teammates by giving them a health boost (+150 for Heroes and +70 for regular reinforcements), and it also breaks Yoda out of any immobilizing effects.

Dash Attack is a powerful, swift attack that can damage enemies through blocks and close gaps in short order.

Star Card Details

Agility

  • Adds an extra dash attack (from 2 to 3)
  • Increases dash attack cooldown (25% for tier 1, 20% for tier 2, 15% for tier 3, 10% for tier 4)

Jedi Mentor

  • Increases damage resistance (5% for tier 1, 6% for tier 2, 7% for tier 3, and 8% for tier 4)

Feel The Force

  • Increases the bonus health granted (+30 for tier 1, +40 for tier 2, +50 for tier 3, +60 for tier 4)

2.
Chewbacca (Bonus Health + Echoing Roar + Shocked And Vulnerable)

“Rrrraaawrgh!”

Chewbacca is perhaps best known for being Han Solo’s trusty co-pilot. Still, he was also present at the Battle of Kashyyyk in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and the whole Sequel Trilogy, so he is playable in all three eras.

He is armed with his trusty bowcaster and is generally a tanky Hero, great for soaking up damage and defusing volatile situations. He can charge up the shots on his bowcaster to deliver devastating damage. His three abilities include Shock Grenade, Furious Bowcaster, and Charge Slam.

Shock Grenade splits into several smaller projectiles, which then shock their targets - this damages and temporarily stuns them.

Furious Bowcaster allows Chewbacca to fire fully charged shots from his bowcaster for 25 seconds without charging them up.

Charge Slam grants Chewbacca 30% damage resistance and allows him to run towards his enemies and then trigger a slam where he pounds the ground with his fists. This slam damages any units in its area and can knock them off their feet.

Star Card Details

Bonus Health

  • Increases base health (from 700 to 750 for tier 1, to 775 for tier 2, to 800 for tier 3, and to . Unlike50 for tier 4)

3.
Anakin Skywalker (Tenacious + Raw Strength + Attraction)

“This is where the fun begins.”

Anakin Skywalker is one of the most powerful Heroes in the game and in the films. He was famously Obi-Wan Kenobi’s apprentice before being seduced by the Dark Side of The Force and ultimately becoming Darth Vader at the end of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. He is playable only in the Prequel era.

Anakin has his blue lightsaber as his primary weapon. Unlike most of the other Heroes and Villains in the game, he has four abilities: Passionate Strike, Heroic Might, Pulls Dominance, and Retribution.

Passionate Strike unleashes a powerful attack on Anakin’s enemies that breaks blocks with the first swing and deals a lot of damage with the second swing. The first swing inflicts 70 damage to regular units and 40 to Heroes, while the follow-up delivers an additional 180 damage to regular units and 130 to Heroes.

Heroic Might grants Anakin 90% damage reduction while he holds it in, and the more damage he takes, the higher the range of the ability. When he releases it, he damages normal units with 100 damage and Heroes with 90 damage within a 10-20 meter radius around him.

Pull Dominance allows Anakin to pull enemies to his front and center, leaving them vulnerable to his lightsaber strikes. It delivers 120 damage to regular units and 80 damage to Heroes.

Retribution is an ability that builds up as Anakin and his nearby allies sustain damage. Once the meter is filled, he can unleash retribution which chokes and pulls all enemies within 15 meters towards him and inflicts up to 200 damage to regular units and 150 damage to Heroes. Hereafter, he releases a Force push which inflicts up to 100 damage on regular units and 75 damage on Heroes.

4.
Obi-Wan Kenobi (Perfect Defense + Jedi Resilience + Think It Over)

“That’s… why I’m here.”

Obi-Wan Kenobi is a Jedi Master who is known for being Qui-Gon Jinn’s apprentice in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, as well as Anakin Skywalker’s master in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, and Luke Skywalker’s savior and mentor in the Original trilogy. However, he is only playable in the Prequel era.

He is armed with his blue lightsaber and three unique abilities: All-Out Push, Restrictive Mind Trick, and Defensive Rush.

All-Out Push is Obi-Wan’s Force Push ability which can charge up. While he is charging, he has an 80% damage reduction. If he unleashes the push before it is charged, it deals 170 damage to regular reinforcements and 150 damage to Heroes. When it’s charged up, it deals an additional 30 damage to both classes of units.

Restrictive Mind Trick affects units within 20 meters of Master Kenobi. Its effects are two-fold: firstly, it reverses the directional inputs (so forward becomes backward and left becomes right and vice-versa), and secondly, it prevents the units from using any of their abilities. This lasts for 5.5 seconds, which gives Obi-Wan a lot of time to lay waste to his enemies.

Defensive Rush sees Master Kenobi run headfirst into the fray, swinging his lightsaber and deflecting any blaster fire directed towards him. This ability inflicts up to 200 damage on any units in his path.

Han Solo’s Shoulder Charge allows him to run into an enemy, breaking their block and knocking them over. It delivers 200 damage to regular units and 150 damage to Heroes.

Sharpshooter allows Han Solo to fire his DL-44 faster than would usually be allowed, dishing out large amounts of damage in a short time.

Luke Skywalker is the main Hero of the Original Trilogy and the Rebel Alliance’s greatest weapon. His strengths lie in his mastery of The Force, speed, and maneuverability, all of which make him an excellent Hero for hit-and-run attacks and ambushes.

He is a Jedi that wields his lightsaber with ease. He also has three Force abilities at his disposal: Push, Repulse, and Rush.

Push is an ability that Luke can quickly use to inflict damage and knockback on any foe within 12 meters ahead of him. Push inflicts 150 damage to regular reinforcements and 90 damage to Heroes.

Repulse sees Luke striking the ground with The Force, damaging any unit that might be within a 12 meter radius around him. This ability is handy for dealing with crowds trying to corner Luke, inflicting 130 damage to regular reinforcements and 75 damage to Heroes.

Rush grants Luke a temporary speed boost that allows him to swing his lightsaber in any direction while covering great distances. It causes 100 damage to whoever is unfortunate enough to be in its path.

Her blaster is a defender blaster with an alternate firing mode that seeks its target. Leia Organa’s abilities include Thermal Detonators, Rapid Fire, and Squad Shield.

Leia’s Thermal Detonators ability allows her to throw up to three thermal detonators that explode shortly after they are thrown, inflicting 250 splash damage apiece.

Rapid Fire makes Leia draw her E-11 in place of her defender pistol, and this E-11 is highly modified. It fires its blaster bolts at a very high rate and punishes any foes that dare to come too close to our princess.

Squad Shield deploys a large shield that protects its inhabitants from external damage and heals them, excellent for securing chokepoints or objectives.

Lando’s X-8 Night Sniper is equipped with a night vision scope that highlights enemies with their heat signature when zoomed in.

Lando is playable as a Hero for the Rebel Alliance, and his abilities include Smoke Grenade, Sharp Shot, and Disabler.

Smoke Grenade obscures the vision of units that attempt to look through it. This does not affect Lando’s X-8, and he can snipe enemies right through the cloud of smoke when he zooms in.

Sharp Shot allows Lando to lock on to up to five targets and then deliver a flurry of shots that delivers 200 damage to each victim. This is an instant elimination for most of the regular classes.

Disabler is a sticky device that can be thrown onto a surface. The device acts as a radar jammer that reveals nearby enemy units to Lando. It can also be overcharged, triggering a shock for any surrounding units, leaving them vulnerable to attack.

Lightsaber Throw allows Vader to throw his lightsaber up to 20 meters away to inflict 130 damage on his target one way and another 130 on its way back. This means it is an instant kill for most regular reinforcements.

Force Choke traps Vader’s enemies in a group in front of him, suspending them in the air and inflicting 86 damage per second for a total of 1.5 seconds before dropping them. This makes it an excellent ability to drop enemies off of dangerous heights to let gravity do the deed.

Focused Rage reduces Darth Vader’s stamina costs for his lightsaber strikes by 50%, increases the damage each strike deals by 15, and grants him a temporary +200 health boost. Focused Rage lasts for a total of 10 seconds, which is plenty of time for Lord Vader to obliterate any Rebel scum foolish enough to cross him.

Stun Droid deploys Iden’s droid to an enemy she is facing and stuns her, with the potential to chain the stun to nearby units.

Pulse Cannon puts away the TL-50 and draws Iden’s modified DLT-20A, an excellent weapon for longer-range engagements. Charging up the shots for this ability delivers maximum damage.

“Everything that has transpired has done so according to my design.”

Emperor Palpatine is widely considered the most powerful Sith Lord in the films, and he is the leader of the Galactic Empire and master to Darth Vader.

Although he wields a red lightsaber in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, he would be Chancellor Palpatine or Darth Sidious. He is instead armed with his devastating Force powers in the game, including Force Lightning as his primary weapon and Chain Lightning, Dark Aura, and Electrocute as his abilities.

He is playable in the Original trilogy era as a Villain for the Galactic Empire and the Sequel trilogy era as a Villain for the First Order.

Palpatine’s Force Lightning can be fired from either (or both) of his hands, dealing 14 damage per second per hand.

Chain Lightning is a lightning strike that targets one unit and chains up to six of them if they are close enough to each other, causing 120 damage to each affected enemy.

Dark Aura fills the air around Palpatine with Dark Side energy that damages all the units in a 10 meter radius around him for 15 damage per second.

Electrocute emits a shockwave that immobilizes any enemies in front of Palpatine for 1 second.

Star Card Details

In Full Control

  • Reduces the stamina drain for Force Lightning (-10% for tier 1, -12% for tier 2, -14% for tier 3, and -16% for tier 4)

Amplified Aura

  • Increases the damage per second for Dark Aura (from 15/second to 17.25/second for tier 1, to 18/second for tier 2, to 18.75/second, and to 19.5/second for tier 4)

Surge of Lightning

  • Increases the number of units that Chain Lightning can affect (from 6 to 7 for tier 1, to 8 for tier 2, to 9 for tier 3, and to 10 for tier 4)

19.
Boba Fett (Focalize + Fuel Efficiency + Quick Refill)

“He’s no good to me dead.”

He is outfitted with an EE-3 that fires in tri-bursts, a wrist-mounted flamethrower for melee, and a jetpack that makes him the most mobile Hero or Villain in the entire game. He is a playable character for the Galactic Empire, and his abilities are Concussion Rocket, For The Hunt, and Rocket Barrage.

Concussion Rocket dazes any targets within a 25 meter radius of impact. While it does not inflict any damage, it obscures vision for 5 seconds, blocks weapon usage for 1.2 seconds, and breaks any lightsaber locks that a Jedi might have in effect.

For The Hunt activates Boba’s radar that highlights enemy units for him and his allies, removes Boba from their radars, and stops fuel consumption for his jetpack for 8 seconds.

Rocket Barrage fires a salvo of five explosive rockets at Boba’s target from his gauntlet, dealing 75 damage for each successful hit.

Star Card Details

Focalize

  • Increases the damage inflicted by Rocket Barrage within 1 meter of the explosion (+4 damage for tier 1, +6 for tier 2, +8 for tier 3, and +10 for tier 4)

Fuel Efficiency

  • Reduces the rate at which jetpack fuel is consumed (-5% for tier 1, -8% for tier 2, -11% for tier 3, and -15% for tier 4)

Quick Refill

  • Increases the fuel refill rate for the jetpack when it is not in use (+8% for tier 1, +10% for tier 2, +12% for tier 3, and +15% for tier 4)

20.
Kylo Ren (Bloodlust + Solid Freeze + Harsh Pull)

“Let the past die. Kill it if you have to.”

Kylo Ren is one of the main antagonists from the Sequel trilogy of films and is notorious for his unbound rage, mask, and unique red lightsaber with a crossguard near the hilt. He is very tanky, and his abilities allow him to inflict Pull, Frenzy, and Freeze on behalf of the First Order, which he leads.

Pull allows Kylo Ren to pull enemy troops towards him, making them fall forward and inflicting 10 damage to them in the process.

Frenzy has Kylo Ren enter a rage that grants him a 40% damage reduction and allows him to mercilessly lash out on his enemies, dishing out 160 damage per strike on regular troops and 115 damage per strike on Hero units.

Freeze immobilizes units within 15 meters ahead of Kylo Ren for a period of 2.5 seconds, leaving them open to attack.

Star Card Details

Bloodlust

  • Frenzy strikes inflict additional damage (+5 for tier 1, +10 for tier 2, +15 for tier 3, and +20 for tier 4)

Solid Freeze

  • Increases the effective range of Freeze (+15% for tier 1, +20% for tier 2, +25% for tier 3, and +30% for tier 4)

21.
Captain Phasma (Safety First + Easy Shots + Come Closer)

“You were always scum.”

Captain Phasma is a high-ranking officer of the First Order, and she is armed with a modified F-11D and her staff and a droid that doubles as a shock-turret for anyone foolish enough to stumble into its vicinity. She has shiny chromium armor that distinguishes her from the rank and file troops.

Captain Phasma’s abilities include Staff Strikes, Survivor, and First Order Sentry Droid, and she is playable for the First Order only.

Staff Strikes is a unique melee ability that sees Phasma whipping out her staff to deliver devastating blows to her foes in chains of up to three, with the third one delivering bonus damage.

Survivor is an ability that immediately grants Phasma a +200 health boost.

Phasma’s First Order Sentry Droid ability spawns a defensive droid that acts as a turret that can open fire at enemies from afar. Where it shines, though, is its ability to shock and stun any units that come within 15 meters of it. This makes it an excellent fixture in any situation where a chokepoint needs or objective needs to be locked down.

Star Card Details

Safety First

  • Survivor grants even more base health (+20 for tier 1, +40 for tier 2, +50 for tier 3, and +60 for tier 4)

Easy Shots

  • Reduces heat buildup on the F-11D for each kill (-30% for tier 1, -40% for tier 2, -50% for tier 3, and -60% for tier 4)

Come Closer

  • After Phasma defeats three enemies, the First Order Sentry Droid’s shock radius is increased (+20% for tier 1, +30% for tier 2, +40% for tier 3, and +50% for tier 4)

22.
BB-9E (Full Reconstruction + Faster, Faster! + Potent Bacta)

-intimidating beeping noises-

BB-9E is the last Villain to have been added to the game, and he is a First Order astromech droid that we see aboard Snoke’s flagship in Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi. He bears a remarkable resemblance to BB-8 in that he is small, cute, and round.

He is also an excellent support character that provides passive buffs to his teammates.

He is armed with a shock prod as his primary weapon and Smoke Screen, Shock Spin, and Charge Up as his abilities.

Smoke Screen emits a cloud of smoke that obscures the vision of foes while also revealing their potential.

Shock Spin will damage nearby enemies and push them back. Anyone pushed further away will experience a weapon malfunction that overheats their blasters and disrupts their grenades. Closer enemies will be damaged for the rest of the time the ability is active. It is active for 8 seconds and deals 60 damage upon being triggered and then 30 damage every 1.8 seconds.

Charge Up is an ability that buffs BB-9E and his teammates by preventing the overheat mechanism on their weapons and also boosting ability cooldowns.

Star Card Details

Full Reconstruction

  • Increases maximum health regeneration (from a base of 250 to 275 for tier 1, to 300 for tier 2, to 325 for tier 3, and to 350 for tier 4)

Faster, Faster!

  • After multiple enemies have been affected by Shock Spin, its damage is doubled for the remainder of its active time (5 enemies needed for tier 1, 4 enemies needed for tier 2, 3 enemies needed for tier 3, and 2 enemies needed for tier 4)

Potent Bacta

  • Increases the healing radius of Bacta Support (from 7 meters to 8 meters for tier 1, to 8.5 for tier 2, to 9 for tier 3, and to 9.5 for tier 4)

Conclusion

And there you have it! The definitive guide to the Heroes and Villains of Star Wars Battlefront 2 is at your disposal, and now you are destined to take on the various risks and challenges in a galaxy far, far away.
