Best Batman Arkham Game Revealed (All Batman Arkham Games Ranked Worst To Best

Batman Arkham trilogy
The phenomenal Arkham trilogy!

We've seen a slew of games featuring the fabled caped crusader throughout the years. Most recently, Rocksteady reintroduced the bat signal with its Arkham series, and its impact can still be felt in every contemporary superhero game afterwards, with several games even outside the Marvel/DC universe drawing inspiration from the crunchy fighting.

Let’s take a look at Batman Arkham games ranked worst to the best!

7. Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate (2013)

You may have forgotten about this spin-off, which is probably for the best. Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate brought the caped crusader and his daring exploits to the tiny screen, more precisely the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita. It's a 2.5D side-scroller that continues off just where Arkham Origins left off, with Batman dealing with an explosion at Blackgate prison that frees the Joker, Penguin, and Black Mask.

6. Batman: Arkham Origins Mobile (2013)

Despite sharing the same name, the mobile version of Arkham Origins is an entirely different game from the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, or PC version. Primarily because the game is a brawler on iOS and Android, not an action-adventure title.

Additionally, it is a freemium game, so expectations were never great. The battle is simplistic, and Batman's opponents lack diversity. However, because of the game's limited stamina system, players are unable to battle for extended durations unless they pay money.

5. Batman: Arkham VR (2016)

It was just a matter of time until Rocksteady Studios sought to integrate The Dark Knight's many features with a VR headset. And, for the most part, playing Bruce in first-person was a surefire way to captivate new PlayStation VR users. However, even with a creative plot and a novel approach to virtual reality, it fell short of one-upping the previous console releases, which were, predictably, still regarded as absolute masterpieces for their time.

4. Batman: Arkham Asylum (2009)

When Rocksteady Studios pitched the first Arkham chapter, they genuinely created something extraordinary, with all the components necessary to create a set menu of exciting sequels. And, for a 2009 release, Rocksteady were absolutely ahead of their time, with almost every playable piece being a work of beauty in its own right. Arkham Asylum has everything, from fighting to sound design, environments to secondary goals. And a little more.

The only disadvantage of creating a masterpiece was that any attempt at a sequel was virtually certain to fail due to the demands of filling such enormous shoes. And, in certain ways, the Arkham series often struggled to reignite the first chapter's successful blaze. However, being Rocksteady, flint and ash would have yielded gold. However, for what it's worth, Arkham Asylum was an incredible gem, and probably the best gaming treasure ever to grace the whole system.

3. Batman: Arkham Knight (2015)

After annihilating waves of rebellious convicts and deranged adversaries in the monochromatic metropolis without so much as a split-second pause, the Bat's well-deserved sabbatical was finally knocking — and it was banging loudly. Naturally, the sole condition for retiring early was to clean up Gotham's remaining parasites and secondhand gang activities.

Despite its lack of narrative depth, Arkham Knight was an excellent way to conclude the Arkham saga. After cramming in a slew of famous personalities and unforgettable places, we had essentially seen Gotham in its entirety, and we were living for it. However, as a mash-up of previous games with very few new sprinkles to enhance its flavor, it was effectively a mock-up of Arkham City with a few more curdles and peculiarities. Thus, although it was not in a league of its own when compared to its predecessors, it was nonetheless an excellent addition to the chronology and an ending we will almost certainly never forget.

2. Batman: Arkham Origins (2013)

After many years of pursuing the same road, Rocksteady realized they needed to create an initiation tale for the series – if only to bridge the few remaining gaps in the trip. Regrettably, Rocksteady did not develop a stated narrative. It was, ironically, Warner Bros. Interactive. And we are not going to pretend that was a terrible thing. It's just that — it wasn't what we'd grown used to and cherished.

Arkham Origins, for what it was, was an incredibly wonderful way to shed light on The Dark Knight and his formative years in Gotham, along with all the typical Arkham elements necessary to keep the Arkham moniker alive. However, as wonderful as the game was, it fell short of being really original. If anything, it demonstrated that Warner Bros. was capable of delivering an Arkham game. And although that was admirable — it fell far short of the excellence seen in Rocksteady's early chapters.

1. Batman: Arkham City (2011)

It was a tall order for Arkham City to equal the near-perfection of the Asylum. Despite the odds, the sequel outperformed its predecessor by providing a great open-world adventure. Rocksteady succeeded by strengthening rather than replacing the elements introduced in the prior episode.

For example, the fantastic battle included a slew of new gadgets and assaults. Whereas the confined Asylum has been replaced with a bustling metropolis brimming with activities. Additionally, the expanded space accommodates more of Batman's allies and adversaries, including Two-Face, the Penguin, and Catwoman. Each new character joins Batman in an enormously engrossing adventure that concludes with one of the greatest video game endings ever.

Conclusion

It’s a close battle between Arkham Origins and Arkham City for me to land as the ‘Best Batman Arkham Game of All Time’ but I think the majority of the fans would love Arkham City on the top.
