Best Free FPS Games

FPS shooters. I don’t think there is anything else that I play, to be honest. The only non-fps shooter that I have played was Icy Tower on some school PC back in 2008. There might be some people that don’t even know what FPS stands for - it stands for First-Person Shooter, which means that you play from the view of the protagonists’ eyes.

And that’s exactly what I’ll be yabbing about, THE BEST FPS shooters out there. I won’t be boring you any further and start with our first listing:

15. War Robots VR

Do you like robots? Do you like war? Great - you’re gonna be put inside of a robot and your primary job will be to annihilate other robots that wish to annihilate you. You’ll be able to destroy your foes via launching rockets at them from your Robot or just spraying them down with your machine guns.

Enemies’ health bars will be displayed above them and best of all, you’ll be able to listen to some obnoxious, repetitive music from the early 2000’s - couldn’t get any better!

14. Deceit

This game is all about trust amongst players, without it it’s gonna lead to lack of trust, lack of trust leads to dead people - even better for the monster. Watch your back and be careful who you trust!

13. Heroes & Generals

This one is an FPS combined with RTS elements, you rarely see RTS games in the first-person view, so this game had to get a spot on this list. You’re put in World War 2, you’ll either be fighting Hans or Ivan, it’s up to you to decide on which side you’re gonna fight.

Despite this game having some minor P2W aspects attached to it, you’ll still have fun playing this thing for hundreds of hours. Sick game!

12. MechWarrior Online

This is like War Robots, but on steroids and a slighter dose of cocaine - visuals present themselves far better than in War Robots - graphics are gorgeous, maps are large and detailed, you’ve got access to more weaponry(lasers, rockets, machine guns, etc) which also have more visuals to them.

Combat in this game is satisfying as hell, with multiple weapons to pick from, you can also use terrain to your advantage, cooperate with your teammates and focus on the objectives more efficiently! Try it out, pretty dope and an underrated game!

11. Aim Lab

Can this even be considered a video game? I don’t know, but it will surely help you with your aim in games such as CS:GO, Valorant, BF Series, and many other games. You’ll be shooting red circles for days on end, but I guarantee you that it’ll help you improve in other games as a result!

It’s F2P and it’s viable for both FPS and TPS shooters - try it out and improve your aim today!

10. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Who doesn’t know Counter-Strike? Everyone does! But if you don’t, it’s a classic 5vs5, between terrorists and counter-terrorists with objectives that you have to do before running out of time. As terrorists, you can win by:

  • Planting/detonating the bomb in time
  • Making sure CT’s don’t rescue the hostages
  • Killing all CT’s

As Counter-terrorists, you can win by:

  • Rescuing the hostages
  • Defusing the bomb
  • Killing all terrorists

It’s a simple and fun game that has been around for 9 years, has pretty decent graphics, and a loyal player base - check it out, awesome and kick-ass game!

9. Apex Legends™

A battle royale game, one thing that I’ve noticed about Apex Legends is how fast-paced it is, compared to games such as PubG, Fortnite, etc - sliding, jumping, ducking to weasel your way out of near-death experiences will be extremely common in this game and will probably give you a heart attack from its sheer intensity.

You can pick one out of many classes, customize your weaponry and fly around the map like a madman - the game becomes more intense as more players die and the zone gets smaller AND the best part - this game is free! Get it today!

8. Warface

For a game released in 2013, this game looks gorgeous as hell. Probably the reason for that is because Crytek made it - the same guys that made the Crysis series. It has classes, such as:

Rifleman - some dude runnin’ around with assault rifles

  • Medic - self-explanatory
  • SED - Tanky, uses grenade launchers and machine guns
  • Engineer - can plant mines, restore armor, high rate of fire weapons
  • Sniper - BOOM HEADSHOT!

The game is pretty as hell and is a mixture of futurism, CoD, and BF3 - small maps, fast-paced gameplay, you can pick options - dope as hell game, especially if you loved the Crysis series!

7. Destiny 2

Destiny 2 has a special place in my heart, has both PVP and PVE gameplay with an awesome plot. Even though that this game might have plenty of P2W content, it’s still an awesome game that’s being looked after by its developers.

When I say it’s being looked after by its developers, I mean it - I’ve never witnessed any severe bugs and the general difficulty of this game is challenging - it won’t hold you by your hand, but it won’t slam you in the head with a brick either and leave you to die within a second - try this game out - gorgeous graphics, combat, and storyline!

6. Team Fortress 2

Jesus Christ, I played this game when 7, I played this game when I was 14 and I still play this game when I’m 21 - TF2 is an incredible game with cartoonish graphics and 9 awesome, unique classes. One of my favorites being Spy, a guy that you can go invisible with and backstab unsuspecting snipers. Avoid Pyros though!

There are many other classes to pick from and many objectives to do:

  • Pushing the cart
  • Stealing the briefcase
  • Capping points
  • and many more objectives/special events.

It’s a free-to-play game with 40,000 online players, the community is well as always and the game remained fun to this day. Get your hats today!

5. No More Room in Hell

Some of us know that saying - “When there is no more room in hell, the devil shall walk the Earth”. And that’s what this game is about, you’re gonna go through hordes of zombies, either by evading them or by killing all of them - keep in mind, in this game you can get infected and zombies are lethal. You have to be careful at all times and most importantly cooperate with your teammates.

This game runs on the Source Engine and has plenty of different gamemodes and servers. Perfect zombie game, try it out on Steam!

4. Paladins®

I have some history with this game, played it back in 2016 and had a blast with my friends, back then there weren’t as many classes are there are today, and the number of players kinda shrank over the last few years, but it doesn’t stop this game from having versatile classes to play and plenty of strategies to execute with your teammates!

So yeah, pick DPS/Tank/Healer and wreck some kids today - it’s a F2P on steam, so get it now!

3. PlanetSide 2

There’s nothing more badass in a multiplayer FPS than rolling down a desert with hundreds of players on your team in armed vehicles, tanks, and aircraft. You’ll go on a short trip to the enemy territory and then you’ll witness the most incredible, massive-scale battles you’ve ever seen that take place between infantry, land vehicles, and aircraft!

The map is… enormous. AND gorgeous at the same time, you might not be able to explore all of it though without getting shot down by enemy forces - this game has a map menu on which you can see territories controlled by your faction, the point of this game is to cap all of the points and defeat other enemy factions. Get it, an incredible game!

2. Valorant

It’s like CS:GO, but more cartoonish and arcade-ish. First, it was named Project A, then it was renamed to Valorant. Did you know that this is the same company that made League of Legends? I gotta say that the community is awesome, unlike in LoL!

It’s a competitive FPS, with a built-in ranking system and small-sized maps that will give you plenty of action and fast-paced gameplay. If you like games similar to CS:GO, in which you want to progress and climb the ranks, pick Valorant!

1. Call of Duty Warzone

Well, this is probably the only CoD that I’ve liked since the release of Black Ops 1 - you’re dropped in a zone of 150 players, the likelihood of you surviving is so goddamn low that if you manage to get the first spot, you will most definitely feel like a gigachad of the universe.

Also, when you die you have a slight chance of redeeming yourself by fighting others in a gulag. Sponsored by Stalin! Hands-down, the best FPS out there for free, get it now!
