Top 10 Best Frieza Attacks
Wassup everybody! Your friendly neighborhood Shounen Man here with another anime list to feed that beast within you. Today’s list is on one of my personal favorite animes ever made, DBZ! In DBZ there are quite a few great villains but the king of mean is definitely Frieza. Not only does he have a true knack for being the evilest being in the universe but he has the insane power to back it up. To prove both these points look no further than him blowing up Planet Vegeta and killing the majority of the Saiyan race. Let’s go together and check out some of his most amazing attacks.
10. SuperNova
Coming in at number 10 we have SuperNova! This is a move that Frieza has used a few times throughout the whole series, most notably when he destroyed Planet Vegeta. The most iconic scene of this technique in use is Frieza floating in space above his ship as Bardock charges him, beating dozens of Frieza’s men as he comes. Unfortunately for Bardock he never stood a chance, Frieza charges a little orange glowing energy ball in his fingertip. It then grows until it's dwarfing everything in sight. He launches this straight at Planet Vegeta killing all of his soldiers that were in the way along with Bardock. When the blast hits planet Vegeta, it pushes directly into the Planet blowing it up in a brilliant flash.
9. Death Saucer
Coming in at number 9, we have Death Saucer! This attack was an incredible display of Frieza's power and control when using his techniques. Goku and Frieza’s battle on the Planet Namek had been raging on for quite a while, and after Goku went Super Saiyan, he began to gain the advantage in the battle. After a hard fight, near the end, it was undeniable that Goku was too strong for the space emperor to handle. In an attempt to slice Goku into pieces, Frieza created two purple energy saucers that looked a lot like Krillin's Destructo Discs. He threw them at Goku, and the Saiyan easily dodged them, but Frieza controlled them, chasing him all over the battlefield. Our hero took the battle straight to Frieza, beating the crap out of him, and during this fight, Frieza gets cut in half from behind by his own attack.
8. Death Beam Barrage
Coming in at number 8, we have Death Beam Barrage! During the fight with Frieza on Planet Namek, our heroes were pulling out all the stops to try and defeat this tyrannical emperor. Gohan, Krillin, and a newly resurrected Piccolo had all fallen. Vegeta didn’t stand a chance even after his Zenkai boost. Frieza in his final form was far too much for them, and they all would have died if Goku hadn’t shown up. During the beginning of their fight, Frieza underestimated Goku and decided just to fire Death Beams until he was finished. The Emperor released a barrage of crimson Death Beams at Goku, but the earth-raised Saiyan deflected them all.
7. Death Fork
Coming in at number 7, we have Death Fork! Yep, you see that correctly. It’s another move with death in the name. On Planet Namek, heroes pushed Frieza to the point that he thought he’d never have to go. He was going to have to use his transformations. He looked relatively the same for his first one but got much taller and bulkier, beginning to resemble his father, King Cold. In this form, he had massive horns, and at one point, he pierced them through Krillin’s torso and began to bounce him up and down on his head while still having him impaled. This attack showed us how depraved Frieza was as we watched him torture Krillin.
6. Earth Breaker
Frieza has a trick up his sleeve.
Coming in at number 6, we have EarthBreaker! This move is on this list for quite a few different reasons. One, it's a pure desperation move that Frieza can pull out anytime he chooses. If he thinks he is losing a fight, he can turn it around instantly with this. Frieza fires energy directly into the ground attacking the Planet’s core and causing it to rupture and explode. This causes the Planet’s immediate destruction. He’s used it multiple times against Goku on planet Namek and Vegeta on Planet Earth. The latter he would have won if time had not gotten rewound.
5. Last Emperor
Taking Goku's Kindness For Weakness
Coming in at number 5, we have, Last Emperor! This just might be the most iconic move Frieza has if you consider the scene in which it occurs. As the battle between Goku and Frieza raged on, it became apparent that Frieza would lose. He seemed to be getting weaker as Goku just got stronger. Everything he threw at Goku, the Saiyan just viciously countered. After being cut in half by his own technique, Frieza laid on the ground begging for his life. Goku was infuriated by his audacity but, in the end, decided to spare him some of his energy and told Frieza to use it to escape. However, being the opportunist that he is, Frieza tried to launch one final attack at Goku by blasting a massive beam of brilliant energy at him, but Goku simply yelled,” You Fool” and sent it right back with a blast of his own
4. Death Ball
Coming in at number 4, we have Death Ball! This technique is used by Frieza pretty often. He can use it to cause the destruction of a planet or hit an opponent directly with a potent and condensed version of the attack. It can be an immense dark purple energy when he uses it with chaotic bolts popping around it. In my favorite scene of Frieza using this, he doesn’t even fire it. He charges it up, getting ready to destroy everyone. As Frieza floats upwards, charging a big ball of energy, it gets dwarfed by the looming spirit bomb behind him. When he notices the shine created by it, he looks up and loses his power in his terror.
3. Death Psycho Bomb
Coming in at number 3, we have Death Psycho Bomb! This is the source of what many fans consider to be the most iconic scene in the series. After Goku slammed his spirit bomb into Frieza and seemingly killed him, our heroes began to celebrate. There is a moment where everything seems fine, but then Krillin becomes speechless and visibly scared. Frieza was back and, before anyone could do anything, fired a death bullet at Goku. Piccolo jumped in the way saving his friend's life at the cost of his own. This, however, wasn’t the end of his destruction. He then shoots an invisible energy blast that hits Krillin and lifts him into the air. He explodes, begging for Goku to save him. This is what causes our hero’s transformation into a Super Saiyan.
2. Crazy Finger Beam
Coming in at number 2, we have Crazy Finger Beam! During Frieza's battle with our heroes on Planet Namek, he went into his second form and dominated the battlefield. Just when all seemed lost, a newly resurrected Piccolo showed up and started beating the dark emperor senseless. He was too fast and too strong for Frieza even to stand a chance. Pushed to its limits, he abandoned his second form and transformed to his third. In this form, he surpassed Piccolo in every way, and after playing with him for a while, he decided to hit the Namekian hard. He began firing little shots, slowly at first but quickly ramping up so fast they were hitting Piccolo all over his body at once. This went on for a really long time, with Frieza laughing the whole way.
1. Cage Of Light
Coming in at number 1, we have Cage Of Light! This is by far my favorite move Frieza has ever used. This technique happens in DragonBall Super during the tournament of power. Gohan and Frieza were working together to defeat the extremely fast Dyspo and were having trouble keeping up. They devised a plan where Frieza would create a brilliant display of red energy beams flying everywhere at once. These beams were so fast and numerous that they made a cage for Dyspo and Gohan to fight in. I love this move because it's a perfect display of the power Frieza wields in his new Golden form, and I love the direction that they have taken his character.
