[Top 10] Best Goku Attacks (Ranked)

Wassup everyone! Your friendly neighborhood Shounen Man here with another anime list to answer all those burning questions within you. Today we are back with DragonBall Z, looking at the most powerful hero in the series, the main protagonist himself, Goku. The earth-raised Saiyan is a genius in combat, not only can he battle against people more powerful than himself and still come out on top but he can also mimic other techniques that he has saw. Once someone battles Goku there is a good chance he is going to steal some kind of move from them. Using this genius of his he has acquired a large list of amazing techniques. W are going to figure out which ones are the top ten best of Goku’s attacks. So without further ado, here we go!

10. Solar Flare

Coming at number 10 we have Solar Flare! Solar flare is a move that has been in DragonBall since the early days. Tien first used the move on Jackie Chun during the 22nd World martial arts tournament to blind him and pull out the win. Watching that fight Goku learned how to block the technique and by the 23rd world, martial arts tournament was using it himself on Tien. He went on to use this move a few times throughout the entire series. This move can be used by weak people against opponents much stronger, which Krillin did on Namek. No matter an opponent's power level this move is effective in stopping them in their tracks.

9. Goku’s Spirit Gun

Coming in at number 9 we have Goku’s finger blasts! Now this entry is here on cool factor alone. During his battle with Kale and Caulifla, Goku finds himself being pushed back steadily by their teamwork. After they proved he couldn’t beat them in his Super Saiyan 2 form he decided to go Super Saiyan God mode. In his red hair form he was easily too much for the two universe 6 Saiyans. During this exchange, he busts out a move that he never used before. He begins to fire beams out of his fingers at his opponents. This move was very reminiscent of the spirit gun, if you know you know,

8. Rock, Paper, Scissors

Coming in at number 8 we have Rock, Paper, Scissors! Here we have another technique that Goku used as a child at the beginning of the series. This particular move set was taught to him by his Grandpa Gohan and served him often. One of the best uses of this technique was when he fought against Jackie Chun and tried to use it on him only to have Jackie Chun block every part of the attack. He realized that Jackie Chun knew all of his grandpa’s moves so he decided to catch him off guard by tricking him. This was an awesome example of Goku’s ability to be tricky. When he uses this attack he yells rock, paper, scissors when he attacks but this time when he yells paper he strikes with rock hitting his opponent square in the nose.

7. Dragon Fist

Coming in at number 7 we have Dragon Fist! This move seems to be a more developed version of the Oozaru punch that Goku used in DragonBall. The technique is used by Goku charging up an intense amount of energy before slamming his fist into the enemy's stomach. A golden dragon made of pure energy burst from the person’s wound tearing a hole straight through them and sometimes even completely exploding them and the landscape around them. This move became a bit of a mainstay in DragonBall Gt, Goku busted it out alot more than the one time he used it in Dbz. It was used to stop Super 17 and even the final villain of the show.

6. Spirit Bomb

Coming in at number 6 we have Spirit Bomb! It can be argued that the Spirit Bomb is the iconic technique of the show. It's a move that draws energy that has to be offered up from everything around the user. Goku used this move to save the day a few times. He learns this attack from the jokester god King Kai. After training like crazy, Goku was finally able to harness the energy of life into an attack. This was first used on Vegeta to devastating effect. Then it was used on Frieza, Kid Buu, and even the very powerful Jiren. The spirit bomb is one of Goku’s most powerful attacks and he keeps it in his back pocket at all times

5. Oozaru Fist

Coming in at number 5 we have the Oozaru fist! During the arc with this villain many fighters lost their lives. Krillin had his first death of the series, along with Chiaotzu and Master Roshi. All these characters lost their lives to this monster. Near the end of their battle Kid Goku was almost down and out. He had a destroyed arm and was utterly exhausted, but after seeing all of his friends drop, Goku dug deep inside himself. What he pulled out was his Saiyan rage and charged for Piccolo by blasting the ground with energy. He then punches straight through the evil Namekians body killing him with a Oozaru face showing behind him.

4. Kaio-Ken

Coming in at number 4 we have Kaio-Ken! This technique has been used by Goku countless times. He still uses it all the time in the series. Goku learned this technique while training with King-Kai to fight the Saiyans. The Kaio-Ken is a technique that increases the users abilities again and again according to which version they use. During Goku’s first battle with Vegeta he used Kaio-Ken many times. Starting with the regular Kaio-Ken he quickly realizes that he can’t match the elite warrior's strength and pushes his body to the limit with Kaio-Ken x4.

3. Warp-Kamehameha

Coming in at number 3 we have the Warp Kamehameha! This technique is actually a fusion of two of Goku’s most iconic moves. First is the Kamehameha that he has been using since he learned it from Master Roshi as a child. Next is the instant transmission that he learned on planet Yardrat after his epic battle with Frieza on planet Namek. In his battle against Cell Goku mixed these techniques to trick the monster. He begins to charge his Kamehameha in the air, but just before he releases it, he teleports right in front of Cell unloading in his face. The move is extremely dangerous due to the direct hit it allows.

2. Ultra Instinct Kamehameha

Coming in at number 2 we have Ultra Instinct Kamehameha! During his battle with two of the universe 6 Saiyans, Caulifla and Kale, Goku was pushed to his outer limits. At first it seemed as though he would defeat the two Saiyans very easily, as he went through his different transformation they seemed to be out-classed. True to the series idea of “but wait theres more”, Caulifla and Kale fuse transforming into Kefla. They immediately begin throwing everything they have at our hero. This causes him to go into ultra instinct where he dodges all of their energy blasts. He then uses a Kamehameha to surf on their giant blast all the way into their faces before unleashing the Kamehameha in their face.

1. Goku’s Bite

Coming in at number 1 we have Goku’s Bite! I know I know, it seems like a weird addition to this list but hear me out. Goku has bitten more enemies over his life than he has Spirit Bombed. He has been doing it since he was a kid. He has bitten some of his most fearsome foes, from biting Demon King Piccolo’s thumb to biting Frieza’s tail and Kid Buu’s head. He has even bitten gods and angels with Beerus and Whis respectively. No matter how hurt Goku is he always tries to find a way to still attack his opponent. His bite also always seems to cause a lot of pain for his enemies. No matter how refined Goku’s style becomes, I love that he never lets go of his deep animalistic style that he had as a child.
