Updated:
04 Jan 2023

Although AWPers may sometimes steal the spotlight with their flashy plays, riflers in CS:GO are the backbone of every single team.

Precise aim and steady spray control are essential to be a good rifle player.

These are the top 15 pros that have mastered the two elements and use their skills to dominate the server.

15. dycha

dycha with his signature hair.

Pawel “dycha” Dycha (oh how I envy those with cool last names) is a Polish professional CS:GO player for ENCE.

One of the most talented players to come out of Poland, dycha’s rifling cements him in the top 15 best riflers in CS:GO. If anybody on ENCE ever feels lost in a round, just look towards the shining star. Oh wait, that’s just dycha’s hair.

Major Tournament Achievements:

  • CCT North Europe Series #2 - 1st ($22,000)
  • PGL Major Antwerp - 3-4th ($70,000)

14. b1t

Move over ScreaM, there’s a new headshot machine in town.

Valerii “b1t” Vakhovskyi started his career in NAVI Jr, NAVI’s academy team. He was given a spot as the main roster’s sixth man in 2020, and in April 2021, he earned his permanent spot on the roster. He made sure to silence the doubters during the PGL Major Stockholm 2021, where he recorded the highest average number of headshots per round and set a record for all Majors.

Oh, and he casually helped NAVI win 12 tournaments that year, 9 of which were pretty much in a row except for a 2nd place finish on the 5th tournament.

Major Tournament Achievements:

  • PGL Major Antwerp 2022 - 2nd ($150,000)
  • PGL Major Stockholm 2021 - 1st ($1,000,000)
  • Honorable Mention: Intel Grand Slam Season 3 - 1st ($1,000,000)

13. rain

rain lets out a shout of victory with his fist held high.

On the topic of CS:GO skills, when it rains, it most definitely pours for Håvard “rain “Nygaard.

rain’s career has been a long one, starting in 2013. This Norwegian player dominated his domestic scene and eventually took his talents to the international scene, first with Team Kinguin and is now on FaZe Clan.

Although his performance has taken a hit in recent years, he reminded everyone what happens to rain when it freezes, helping FaZe win the PGL Major Antwerp 2022 earning him a tournament MVP.

Ice in his veins.

Major Tournament Achievements:

  •  IEM Cologne 2022 - 1st ($400,000)
  • PGL Major Antwerp 2022 - 1st ($500,000)

12. electroNic

Gather around the fire and let Papatronic give you a lesson on how to school your competition in CS:GO.

Russian-born Denis “electroNic” Sharipov was given the nickname “papatronic” in 2019 when he welcomed his daughter into the world. Many thought this would cause his individual performance to take a free fall. However, this electric rifler proved all the haters wrong, winning 8 high profile tournaments since, including the PGL Major Stockholm 2021.

Denis has now transitioned into an IGL role for NAVI, filling the void left by the exit of Boombl4.

Major Tournament Achievements:

  •  BLAST Premier Spring Finals 2022 - 1st ($200,000)
  •  PGL Major Stockholm 2021 - 1st ($1,000,000)
  • Honorable Mention: Intel Grand Slam Season 3 - 1st ($1,000,000)

Although his spirit animal is a sloth, his gameplay will keep you wide awake.

Keith “NAF” Markovic is a Canadian CS:GO professional playing for Team Liquid.

Another name NAF is known by is “NAF-FLY”, in honour of his ex-teammate during CS: SOURCE “BRUNDLE-FLY” that had passed away in a tragic hit-and-run accident.

Major Tournament Achievements:

  • BLAST Premier World Final 2022 - 2nd ($250,000)
  • ESL Pro League Season 16 - 2nd ($85,000)
  • Honorable Mention: Intel Grand Slam Season 2 - 1st ($1,000,000)

10. EliGe

Considered to be one of the greatest NA CS:GO players of all time, Jonathan “EliGe” Jablonowski is the next player on our list.

Also playing for Team Liquid like NAF (#11), EliGe shoulders the heavy heavy burden of carrying the NA CS:GO scene on his back, consistently placing on HLTV’s top 20 list since 2017.

Major Tournament Achievements:

  •  BLAST Premier World Final 2022 - 2nd ($250,000)
  •  ESL Pro League Season 16 - 2nd ($85,000)
  • Honorable mention: Intel Grand Slam Season 2 - 1st ($1,000,000)

9. Spinx

Spinx giving a cheeky pose for the camera.

Not to be confused with the Egyptian mythical creature, which Google Docs keeps trying to autocorrect every single time, Spinx is an Israeli player for Vitality.

Spinx first gained attention when he helped the dark horse ENCE rise to the top of the competition in 2021. He opted to join one of the top 3 players in the world ZywOo in August of 2022. Unfortunately, the team has not seen success worthy of its potential.

Major Tournament Achievements:

  •  ESL Pro League Season 16 - 1st ($200,000)
  •  PGL Major Antwerp 2022 - 3-4th ($70,000) (with ENCE)

8. huNter-

huNter- with a pensive look on his face during a close game.

The cousin of another player on this list (hint: he’s pretty high up).

Bosnian player Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač is a talented rifler for G2 Esports, being ranked in HLTV’s top 20 for the past two years.

After a heartbreaking 3 years on G2 with no first-place tournament finishes at prestigious events, an incredibly disappointing run for a team with such firepower, huNter- helped his team finally break the curse in December 2022. Guess Christmas came early for the Kovačs this year.

Major Tournament Achievements:

  • BLAST Premier World Final 2022 - 1st ($500,000)
  • PGL Major Stockholm 2021 - 2nd ($300,000)

7. Twitstzz

Twistzz lets out a passionate scream, letting his opponents know just how fired up he is.

You have Captain America, and we have Captain Canada, otherwise known as Twistzz.

Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken has a special place in my heart as he was born in British Columbia, the same province as I was.

His story is especially inspiring when you learn that he was verbally abused by his mom’s ex-boyfriend when he was playing CS:GO at a young age. Nevertheless, he triumphed above his circumstances and is one of the winningest players ever.

Major Tournament Achievements:

  •  IEM Cologne 2022 - 1st ($400,000)
  • PGL Major Antwerp 2022 - 1st ($500,000)
  • Honorable Mention: Intel Grand Slam Season 2 - 1st ($1,000,000)

6. ropz

ropz, all smiles before his media day with FaZe Clan.

You can’t help but feel a sense of pride when you see somebody from a “remote” country standing atop the competition of their respective area, putting their home on the map.

The same feelings arise when watching Robin “ropz” Kool dominate the server. And just like his last name suggests, he is calm under pressure and you can count on him to deal the fatal blow to whomever the opponent is.

Major Tournament Achievements:

  • 1. IEM Cologne 2022 - 1st ($400,000)
  • 2. PGl Major Antwerp 2022 - 1st ($500,000)

5. YEKINDAR

YEKINDAR after a huge round win, displaying his passion.

Representing Latvia alongside Broky, Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis is one of the greatest entry fraggers in the professional scene right now.

He gained recognition playing with Virtus Pro (now Outsiders) and had a good amount of success with them, but they didn’t have the domination YEKINDAR was seeking. He then decided to take his talents over to the North American organization Team Liquid, where he plays today. Unfortunately for him, the first major after he left the Outsiders, was won by none other than the Outsiders.

Major Tournament Achievements:

  • 1. BLAST Premier World Final 2022 - 2nd ($250,000)
  • 2. ESL Pro League Season 16 - 2nd ($85,000)

4. frozen

Body Image

frozen with both fists clenched tightly as he lets out a triumphant roar.

I feel like I’ve used “ice in his veins” a little too much in this article, but I think it’s necessary when talking about David “frozen” Čerňanský.

David was first noticed when he was ripping apart the Faceit Pro League circuit, which is basically pick-up games but all players are professionals/semi-professional. He was so talented that he was accused of cheating many times. He proved just how legit he was when he got his chance to join MOUZ.

Since joining, they have made deep runs as dark horses in bigger tournaments.

Major Tournament Achievements:

  •  IEM Major Rio 2022 - 3-4th ($80,000)
  •  Flashpoint 3 - 1st ($17,000)

3. stavn

stavn, the baby-faced killer, stone cold and calm as ever.

The definition of “don’t judge a book by its cover”. You never expect somebody like Martin “stavn” Lund with such an innocent child-like face to be a stone-cold killer on the server.

Starting his professional career at only 14 years old, this 20-year-old has a long time to cement himself as one of the greats.

Major Tournament Achievements:

  • BLAST Premier Fall Finals 2022 - 1st ($200,000)
  •  IEM Rio Major 2022 - 2nd ($170,000)

2. blameF

Image
Body Image

blameF lets out a grizzly shout as he looks towards his teammates.

You know the copypasta that goes “i think its hilarious u kids talking sh*t about (whoever). u wouldnt say this sh*t to him at lan, hes jacked.”? Well, it fits perfectly for the buffest CS:GO player right now, Benjamin “blameF” Bremer.

After Astralis’ era ended, their roster underwent a rebuilding stage, headed by blameF.

Although his teams have never experienced much success, Benjamin has the ability to singlehandedly carry games, something that he is probably used to from all his heavyweight lifting. It’s my opinion that it’s only a matter of time blameF gets the results he deserves.

Major Tournament Achievements:

  • IEM Cologne 2022 - 3-4th ($80,000)
  • BLAST Premier Fall Finals 2021 - 3rd ($40,000)

1. NiKo

Image
Body Image

NiKo raises his fist in encouragement as his team wins a nice round.

The man who falls short.

Niko “NiKo” Kovač (the cousin of huNter- (#8) that I mentioned earlier) is one of the most esteemed players to have yet to win a major. He had his chance at the PGL Major Stockholm 2021, but fate would change the trajectory of his Deagle shot, birthing the most impactful whiff, maybe in history.

After 2 years of carrying MOUZ on his back, he would sign to the international squad FaZe in 2017, where he would win 11 trophies over the span of 3 years. He then linked with his cousin huNter- at G2 in 2020, where he still plays now and recently won his first trophy with the organization.

Major Tournament Achievements:

  • BLAST Premier World Final 2022 - 1st ($500,000)
  • PGL Major Stockholm 2021 - 2nd ($300,000)
