Carmina Mora, also known as "the artist", is one of the newest killers who has been introduced in dead by daylight in chapter 22, a portrait of the murder. Her appearance can be described as "crow-like" and therefore she is able to use her ability to release crows, also known as the 'birds of torment' across the map so that they would detect survivors and attack them.
Her background story I personally think is one of the most tragic ones, where it describes her losing everything in her life including her mother and brother. The moment she was about to jump off the bridge, the crows appeared changing her life completely, including the scene where years later she got her hands and tongue chopped off by a man in the middle of the desert until the crows came in and killed the man, but also her friends as the crows were described to be uncontrollable, a perfect representation of the Artist.
Nevertheless, let's look at her best builds that would be advantageous in the game:
5. The Agitated Artist Build
The Agitated Artist Build comes in with a little agitated 'specs', which allows the killer to easily carry the survivors and hook them. With this addition, you are able to use the other perks much quicker which will be advantageous for the killer including the perks 'scourge Hook: pain resonance' and 'scourge Hook: Gift of Pain', allowing you to gain effects such as generator regression and penalty to healing & repairing every time a survivor is hooked.
Overall this is a great build, as it represents the perks that will do the job for you every time the survivor is hooked, and therefore there aren't any weaknesses making it a recommended build for any player.
What The Agitated Artist Build Excels In:
- The power of agitation will allow the artist to carry the survivors faster and easily, therefore taking less time to hook the survivors and therefore allowing you to go back hunting much sooner.
- Scourge Hook is a powerful perk that will allow you to save time whilst the survivors will have a longer time to heal and repair once upon being healed.
Build details & Perks:
- Agitation: While carrying a Survivoryou benefit from the following effects: Increases your Carrying Movement speed by 6/12/18 % and increases your Terror Radius by 12 metres.
- Grim embrace: Each time a Survivor is hooked for the first time, Grim Embrace gains a Token. Upon reaching 4 Tokens Grim Embrace activates The Entity blocks all Generators for 30/35/40 seconds and the Aura of the Obsession is revealed to you for 5 seconds.
- Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance: At the start of the Trial, 4 random Hooks are changed into Scourge Hooks: The Auras of Scourge Hooks are revealed to you in white. Each time a Survivor is hooked on a Scourge Hook, the following effects apply The Generator with the most Progression sparks, instantly losing 9/12/15 % of its Progression and starting to regress.
- Scourge Hook: Gift of Pain: At the start of the Trial, 4 random Hooks are changed into Scourge Hooks: The Auras of Scourge Hooks are revealed to you in white. Each time a Survivor is unhooked from a Scourge Hook, the following effects apply: The Survivor suffers from the Haemorrhage and Mangled Status Effects until healed. Upon being healed, the Survivor suffers from a 10/13/16 % Action Speed penalty to Healing and Repairing until they are injured again.
4. Fast Sacrificial Death Build
Dead by Daylight gameplay by Carniveris
The Fast Sacrificial Death Build is a build designed to sacrifice survivors as soon as possible and make the game stressful, with the perk Monstrous Shine that will allow an acceleration of the sacrifice progression at a max percentage speed of 9%, nevertheless allowing to increase the difficulty of self-unhooking by a max of 15%, which would make it much harder for survivors to escape the hooks by themselves, especially with their advantage perk, slippery meat, which would give them three extra tries at a total of 6 tries and an increased chance of escaping.
Nonetheless, other perks in this build include bitter murmur that will allow you to see survivors once the generators are completed, making it a build great for killers who would like to get rid of survivors as soon as possible, and at the same time keep track of the auras.
What The Fast Sacrificial Death Build Excels In:
- Bitter Murmur is an underrated perk that will allow you to see survivors within 16 metres once one of the generators is completed, allowing you to save time to search for the survivors as the killer.
- With Monstrous shine, it will allow you to sacrifice survivors much faster and negate some of the survivors' perks such as sloppy butcher, which is a perk that will allow the survivors to have additional chances of escaping the hook on their own which is quite impossible with monstrous shine.
Build details & Perks:
- Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance: At the start of the Trial, 4 random Hooks are changed into Scourge Hooks: The Auras of Scourge Hooks are revealed to you in white. Each time a Survivor is hooked on a Scourge Hook, the following effects apply The Generator with the most Progression sparks, instantly losing 9/12/15 % of its Progression and starting to regress.
- Bitter Murmur: Each time a Generator is completed, the Auras of all Survivors within 16 metres of that Generator are revealed to you for 5 seconds. Once the last Generator is completed, the Auras of all Survivors are revealed to you for 5/7/10 seconds.
- Grim Embrace: Each time a Survivor is hooked for the first time, Grim Embrace gains a Token. Upon reaching 4 Tokens Grim Embrace activates The Entity blocks all Generators for 30/35/40 seconds. The Aura of the Obsession is revealed to you for 5 seconds.
- Monstrous Shine: The Basement Hooks possess the following benefits: Accelerates Sacrifice Progression by 3/6/9 %. Increases Self-Unhook difficulty by 5/10/15 %. Increases Self-Unhook penalty by 3/6/9 %.
3. Artist All-seeing Aura Build
Dead by Daylight gameplay by GreyLetters
The Artist All-seeing Aura Build is a powerful build mainly built for 'seeing'. When looking at the term 'seeing' in this build, it literally means to see everything this includes situations when generators are completed, survivors are hooked/unhooked and when the game has started and you are able to see all survivors for a max of 9 seconds giving yourself a head-start.
Nevertheless, it is a build that is recommended for every player, who doesn't want to spend time looking for survivors, and this is a great way to easily win a game without having to use the effort of searching, as the perks already have the ability to show auras in different scenarios.
What The Artist All-seeing Aura Build Excels In:
Barbecue and Chilli are one of the most powerful perks that will allow you to see survivors once you hook them. It is a perk similar to Bitter Murmur but you see the auras once you hook rather than when a generator is completed, which is also included in the build making it a powerful aura reader build.
It is a build that is built for seeing the auras of survivors in all situations, including seeing the auras at the beginning of the game, when a generator is completed, when you hook a survivor and when the survivor is unhooked, making it one of the most powerful Aura build in the whole dead by daylight game.
Build details & Perks:
- Barbecue and Chilli: A deep bond with The Entity unlocks potential in one's Aura-reading ability. After hooking a Survivor, all Survivors who are at least 60/50/40 metres away from that Hook have their Aura revealed to you for 4 seconds.
- Bitter Murmur: Each time a Generator is completed, the Auras of all Survivors within 16 metres of that Generator are revealed to you for 5 seconds. Once the last Generator is completed, the Auras of all Survivors are revealed to you for 5/7/10 seconds.
- Scourge Hook: Floods of Rage: At the start of the Trial, 4 random Hooks are changed into Scourge Hooks: The Auras of Scourge Hooks are revealed to you in white. Each time a Survivor is unhooked from a Scourge Hook, the following effects apply: The Auras of all other Survivors are revealed for 5/6/7 seconds.
- Lethal Pursuer: At the start of the Trial, the Auras of all Survivors are revealed to you for 7/8/9 seconds. Extends the duration of a Survivor's Aura being revealed to you by +2 seconds. Lethal Pursuer benefits from its own effect.
2. The Ruin and Discordance Build
Dead by Daylight gameplay by RedsGamingGears
The Ruin and Discordance Build is a build that is concentrated on generator regression and observation. In other words, the scenario starts with the perk ruin, where the generators are slowly regressed if not touched until the moment that the hex is cleansed. Nevertheless, once the hex is cleansed, you will have the power to use discordance and be able to observe the generators that are fully progressing in a way that any generator that is repaired by two or more survivors is highlighted in yellow, and therefore be able to pop that gen and continue finding and chasing without having the need to purposely find survivors.
Therefore, this is a powerfully recommended build where it has additional perks of hex: undying where you will be able to see the auras of survivors, and therefore it is a build that is universal in all gaming situations.
What The Ruin and Discordance Build Excels In:
- Hex: Ruin allows the build to have a regressed slowed down game, as generators are automatically regressed if the survivors are not repairing it, saving a lot of time on the killer and therefore allowing the killer to do something else. Scourge Hook will also take the effect of regressing generators if the hex was to be cleaned.
- With Discordance, you will be able to see the generator that is being repaired by 2 or more survivors, in the killer's perspective, it would be the generator that would be in most progress and therefore allowing the killer to keep an eye on it, and keep the progress as low as possible.
- Hex: Ruin: A Hex that affects the Generator Repair progress of all Survivors. Whenever a Generator is not being repaired by a Survivor, it will immediately and automatically regress its Repair progress at 50/75/100 % of the normal Regression speed. Once any Survivor is killed by any means, Hex: Ruin deactivates and reverts its Hex Totem into a Dull Totem.
- Discordance: Any Generator within a range of 64/96/128 metres that is being repaired by 2 or more Survivors is marked by a yellow Aura. When the Generator is first highlighted, Discordance triggers a Loud Noise Notification on the Generator. After the Generator is no longer within range or is being repaired by just 1 Survivor, the highlighted Aura will linger for another 4 seconds.
- Hex:Undying: The Auras of Survivors within 2/3/4 metres of any Dull Totem are revealed to you. When another Perk's Hex Totem is cleansed or blessed, its Hex is transferred to the Hex: Undying Totem, including any accumulated Tokens, disabling Hex: Undying instead. The Hex effects persist until its Hex Totem is cleansed.
1. The Potent Devour Hope Artist
Dead by Daylight gameplay by D3AD Plays
The Potent Devour Hope Artist Build is considered to be one of the most powerful builds for the Artist, mainly for the reasons that it includes Hex: Devour Hope, which is considered to be one of the most powerful and offensive perks in the game, allowing the killer to kill the survivors by hand once the killer has gained enough tokens for his mischievous actions.
Nevertheless, apart from the potent perk that already makes this build very powerful, with tinkerer, you will be able to monitor the generators with more precision as the survivors will be more stressed once the generator is more than 70% in progression and therefore you will be able to quietly attack them whilst being in an undetectable status. Overall, in conclusion, this build is ranked at number one due to the insane possibility of plays within these perks.
What The Potent Devour Hope Artist Build Excel In:
- With the perk tinkerer, you have the ability to have more control over the generators as you would be able to get a notification and see when a generator is over 70% progress, and at the same time, get an undetectable status effect which would make it harder for the survivors to see when the killer is coming in.
- With having the most powerful and toxic perk, hex: devour hope, you will be able to collect tokens each time a survivor is rescued from the hook, and once you get all the tokens you will be able to 'mori' the survivors, making it one of the most powerful turns, which would not only be that advantage but also once the survivors realise of the hex, the game will be slowed down massively as they would be looking for the hex around the map.
- Tinkerer: Whenever a Generator is repaired to 70 %, you benefit from the following effects: Triggers a Loud Noise Notification for that Generator, revealing its location. Grants the Undetectable Status Effect for the next 12/14/16 seconds. Tinkerer can only trigger once per Generator per Trial.
- Hex: Devour Hope: The false hope of Survivors ignites your hunger. Each time a Survivor is rescued from a Hook when you are at least 24 metres away, Hex: Devour Hope receives 1 Token: 2 Tokens: 10 seconds after hooking a Survivor, gain a 3/4/5 % Haste Status Effect for the next 10 seconds. 3 Tokens: Survivors suffer permanently from the Exposed Status Effect. 5 Tokens: You are granted the ability to kill all Survivors by your own hand. The Hex effects persist until its Hex Totem is cleansed.
- Hex: Undying: The Auras of Survivors within 2/3/4 metres of any Dull Totem are revealed to you. When another Perk's Hex Totem is cleansed or blessed, its Hex is transferred to the Hex: Undying Totem, including any accumulated Tokens, disabling Hex: Undying instead. The Hex effects persist until its Hex Totem is cleansed.
