15. Fake Hikage vs. Fake Hinata
Fake Hikage fights Fake Hinata. Starts at 2:54 and ends at 4:21.
During the Asakusa arc, when the White Clad organization invaded Asakusa and used impostors to create confusion, one of the best moments in the series came when the twin sisters Hinata and Hikage started fighting each other as a result of this. The sisters claim the other is an impostor, though they look the same. However, Arthur realizes the difference and kicks Hikage (who is the impostor) unconscious, revealing to everyone that there are impostors among them.
14. Shinra Kusakabe training with Benimaru Shinmon
Shinra Kusakabe training with Benimaru Shinmon. Starts at 8:41 and ends at 9:32.
Following the events of the Asakusa arc, Shinra Kusakabe and Arthur Boyle meet with Special Fire Force Company 7's captain, Benimaru Shinmon, for training. Shinra wishes to learn how to control his flames, and Benimaru teaches him how to use hand signs from the ancient art of genkoku and their importance. Shinra's hilarious fails while learning this makes this one of the best moments in the series.
13. Shinra Kusakabe fights Princess Hibana
Shinra Kusakabe fights Princess Hibana.
When Princess Hibana of the Special Fire Force Company 5 was introduced in the anime, she had all the makings of a villain. However, when she fights Shinra Kusakabe and loses the fight, she turns out to be the greatest asset in the investigation into spontaneous human combustion. Her Cherry Blossom Snowstorm technique is arguably the most beautiful fire technique in the series, and it's certainly worth watching again.
12. Karim Flam meets Shinra Kusakabe and Arthur Boyle
Karim Flam meets Shinra Kusakabe and Arthur Boyle. Starts at 0:35 and ends at 1:13.
Karim Flam, a member of Special Fire Force Company 1, is one of the quirkiest characters in the anime, which makes his interactions with other characters entertaining. When he meets Shinra Kusakabe and Arthur Boyle, he indulges in his bad habit of repeating himself, recycling the same words and phrases in the same sentence, and confusing the two of them, especially Arthur Boyle, who thinks he's being insulted.
11. Joker and Benimaru Shinmon are confronted by Leonard Burns
Joker and Benimaru Shinmon are confronted by Leonard Burns. Ends at 1:07.
Joker and Benimaru Shinmon are two of the most powerful characters in the anime, so when they decide to invade the Holy Sol Temple to investigate the history of the Empire, it comes as no surprise that no one can stop them. However, when they encounter Captain Leonard Burns of Special Fire Force Company 1, we all get the sense that they have finally met a foe they can't easily pass. Although Captain Burns helps them instead, the tension in that scene is one of the best moments in the anime.
10. Benimaru Shinmon single-handedly defeats Company 8
Benimaru Shinmon single-handedly defeats Company 8. Ends at 3:45.
Benimaru Shinmon may look like a laid-back man who doesn't fit the title of the captain of Special Fire Force Company 7, but when he gets serious, we quickly find out that he is not to be trifled with. During the Asakusa arc, he attacks and overwhelms the members of Company 8 when he confuses them with the impostors creating artificial infernals in Asakusa. Although Konro stops the fight, his dominance against Company 8 is a sight to behold.
9. Joker rescues Shinra Kusakabe
Joker rescues Shinra Kusakabe. Starts at 1:18 and ends at 1:13.
Shō Kusakabe's introduction to the anime was a fantastic episode in which we learned how powerful the third pillar is. Completely overwhelming his brother Shinra Kusakabe and Arthur Boyle, his assault to stop them is foiled when Joker arrives, intercepts his attack using a card, and even manages to counter his katana despite Shō's blinding speed.
8. Charon overwhelms Shinra Kusakabe
Charon overwhelms Shinra Kusakabe.
Charon, the guardian of the second pillar and a member of the White Clad, is an absolute monster. During his fight against Shinra Kusakabe, Charon displayed both confidence and craftiness, mocking the weakness of Shinra and enjoying the conflict while using his abilities to trick him into believing he has a Third Generation Ignition Ability. Shinra Kusakabe didn't stand a chance against him.
7. Takehisa Hinawa outwits Arrow
Takehisa Hinawa outwits Arrow.
Although Takehisa Hinawa is just a lieutenant in Company 8 and a second-generation pyrokinetic, his conviction in combat makes him one of the most formidable opponents in the series. When Special Fire Force Company 8 members are separated in the Netherworld, Takehisa finds himself against Arrow, the third pillar's guardian. In one of the best moments in the anime, Hinawa uses Arrow's attacks against her and defeats her despite being weaker than her.
6. Everyone vs. Demon Infernal
Everyone vs. the Demon Infernal. Starts at 4:37 and ends at 5:47.
Demon Infernals are the most dangerous opponents that fire soldiers face in battle, as was proved when Companies 1, 2, 5, and 8 combined their skills to destroy just a single Demon Infernal. They accomplish this by creating a Firestorm that Maki Oze expertly controls. Forcing the Demon Infernal into the vortex, Takehisa Hinawa uses the vortex's heat to accelerate a mortar shell, increasing its power to destroy the Demon Infernal.
5. Joker defeats Holy Sol's Shadow Commander
Joker defeats Holy Sol's Shadow Commander.
Joker's background story is dark and sad and explains why he considers himself an anti-hero. Therefore, when he confronted the Holy Sol's Shadow commander, his former captain, we all rooted for him to win the fight. Using his trump card, Joker kills the man who caused him a lot of anguish as a child, and it's fair to say that no one sympathizes with the sadistic captain.
4. Ogun Montgomery goes berserk
Ogun Montgomery goes berserk. Ends at 3:19.
One of the best moments in the anime comes during the Chinese Peninsula arc, after Ogun Montgomery and other fire soldiers encounter a Demon Infernal. To buy time for Shinra Kusakabe, Ogun Montgomery activates his Ignition ability, Flamy Ink, which covers his entire body with flaming tattoos that significantly increase his strength. With this, Ogun goes berserk and pummels the Demon Infernal, buying Shinra enough time to finish him off.
3. Shō Kusakabe sees his brother's memories
Shō Kusakabe sees his brother's memories.
Shō Kusakabe is one of the many victims of the Evangelist's sinister ambitions, so when he clashes with his brother Shinra Kusakabe, it becomes one of the most emotional fights in the anime. Kidnapped as a baby by the White Clad organization and his memories erased, Shō despises his brother and views him as a weak human. However, when Shinra links with Shō through an Adolla link and shows him his memories, Shō breaks down in tears and embraces his brother in an emotional scene.
2. Charon protects everyone
Charon protects everyone.
Charon might be a villain, but when it counted, he acted as a hero and saved many lives. During the Fifth Pillar arc, Nataku Son, the sixth pillar, goes berserk and unleashes a nuclear blast that threatens to kill everyone. However, Charon uses his abilities to absorb the blast and reflect it into the sky, saving everyone in the process in one of the best moments in the series.
1. Benimaru Shinmon obliterates a Demon Infernal
Benimaru Shinmon obliterates a Demon Infernal.
Benimaru Shinmon's title as the strongest officer in the Special Fire Force is aptly suited to him. While it takes the combined efforts of multiple companies to bring down a Demon Infernal, all it takes him is one move. During the Asakusa arc, Benimaru annihilates a Demon Infernal using a single attack that contains devastating destructive power. To date, this feat remains the best moment in the entire series.
