Forza 7 Best Drags Cars
Drag Racing. You are doing it right

[Top 10] Forza 7 Best Drags Cars

When you play a racing game, you usually have one thing in mind. To go as fast as humanly possible. In Forza 7, there are a lot of high-horsepower beasts that don’t really get a chance to shine on the twist-and-turn heavy gameplay that dominates the game. Where do they shine however- is on the drag strip. If the technical aspects of regular racing and drifting have got you down, it’s time to start drag racing. Here are 10 cars that will satisfy that primal urge to go 0-60 in the blink of an eye.

10. 2002 Chevrolet Camaro

This car is a classic that has been a mainstay on the drag strip since Forza 3. The 2002 Camaro is fast, loud, and American- which means it is fantastic at going extremely fast in a straight line. Although it rolls off the production line at a humble performance index of 481, the right modifications can turn this car into a force to be reckoned with. With the additions of the 6.2L V8 and twin turbos, the Camaro will be packing over 1000 horsepower. That’s MORE than enough to post some solid times.

9. 1999 Lotus Elise

This one may come as a bit of a surprise to a lot of you. Lotus’ are more commonly known for their amazing handling, not the ability to peel back faces. But for whatever reason, the 1999 Elise is an exception. When given the proper engine conversion and upgrades, this car will be able to complete the one-mile drag in just under 21 seconds. The only downside to this car is that off the launch, it tends to be uncooperative. You can easily spin out if you don’t go easy on the throttle.

8. McLaren 650S

Another gem from our boys in the United Kingdom, the 650S will also complete the one-mile race in a hair over 20 seconds. Again- you’ll need to install the proper modifications to ensure that the McLaren will be able to compete against some of the heavy hitters on our list. A good tune can be the difference between a 22 second mile and a 20 second mile. The good news is that no matter what you do to it, this car will still be able to muster some absolutely blinding speeds. It’s just up to you to decide how blinding they are.

7. 1963 Volkswagen Beetle

No, you didn’t read that wrong. Now that you’ve laughed so hard you’ve spit out your drink, just hear me out. This unassuming little bugger can be upgraded to pack over 1000 horsepower. Combine this amount of horsepower with a low weight, and you’ve got a recipe for breaking the sound barrier. The Beetle can easily clock in at under 20 seconds for the one-mile drag. And besides, is there anything better than hearing all the losers with Lamborghinis and Ferraris rage as they’re passed up by a Beetle?

6. GT40

Here we go boys, it’s America’s time to shine. The GT40 is fast. Plain and simple. It has one of the highest acceleration stats in the entire game, which makes getting off the line easier than eating cake on the toilet. With the right tune and a good launch, this car will easily pull a 19 second mile. This is incredible for a car that isn’t really designed as a top-speed demon. But the GT40 doesn’t let labels stop it from melting faces. Give it a whirl.

5. 2002 Nissan Skyline GT-R

I have a bias for Asian automobiles. But my oriental leanings have absolutely nothing to do with how high up on the list this car is. This car is at number 4 because it’s amazing. Turning a JDM car into a drag queen may sound a bit laughable, but the GT-R is a pretty easy convert. With the 4WD drivetrain, the speed and control off the launch ensures that you’ll be halfway down the strip before your competition can shift into second gear. Slap in the 6.2L V8 engine and watch heads roll.

4. Hoonigan Ford Mustang

Break out the hamburgers, Bud Light, and crappy healthcare systems- because we’re back in America. I’ll say this right off the bat; I think this car is hideous. It looks like a reject LEGO model. But there’s no denying that on the strip, it’s an absolute monster. There are no engine conversions available for this car because it doesn’t need any- it comes equipped with 1400 horsepower. Fun fact: this car has the fastest 0-60 time (1.8 seconds) in the entire Forza series. If you can get past the ugly, it’s more than capable of a 19 second mile.

3. Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

In previous Forza games, this was the golden child of drag racing. I’m not exactly sure how much this car looking like the Batmobile has to do with this, but it definitely plays a factor. This car won’t need many upgrades before it’s ready to hit the strip. With a few tweaks here and there, you’ve got yourself another car capable of a 19 second mile. Really, what else can I say. It’s a Lamborghini. It’s fast. And that might be its only downside- sometimes you don’t want to use something so… dare I say… trite.

2. Alpha Romeo 33 Stradale

Get ready to strap yourself in and feel some G’s. Although it rolls out of the garage at a performance index rating of 600, this is another car that can go from zero to hero with the right modifications. This car is capable of lighting up the strip to the tune of 18.7 seconds at its best. Other cars simply cannot compete. The only downside is that it’s a relatively expensive car, costing 900,000 credits. However, it is also one of the best cars in the whole game,  and not just for drag racing.

1. Plymouth GTX Fast & Furious Edition

Here we are guys, the number one spot belongs to some good ole’ American muscle. When pushed to the max, I have seen people post times of 18.2 seconds on the one-mile drag. This is beyond fast. Like the Hoonigan Mustang, there are no massive engine upgrades you can give this car. But when you look under the hood and see 2000 horsepower, there’s really not much room to complain. This is the undisputed king of the game. There is nothing that goes faster in a straight line. Nothing.

Fin

There you have it folks, the top ten drag queens of Forza Motorsport 7. Although you can turn any car into a drag racer by slapping a comically large engine into it, these cars require the least amount of tuning finesse to accomplish blazing-fast miles. Give them all a try and see which one you like best. And enjoy the screams of horror as you pass everyone in a Beetle.
