The Assassin’s Creed series has taken many cues from many different games over the years. Valhalla took notice of Witcher 3’s successes and improved on CD Projekt Red’sformula. You play as a Viking warrior who works to take over part of Merry Very Olde England. Along the way you’ll play dice games, fight witches, and kill Beowulf. The exquisitely rendered scenery, the reliance on horses for transport, and the sword-based combat will help scratch that Witcher 3 itch just one more time.

If you haven’t played this Zelda game, you need to drop everything you’re doing right now and go pick it up. There’s a sequel coming out soon too, Skyward Sword, that looks just as promising. This game has everything that Witcher 3 has and more. Puzzles, dungeons, great boss fights, and hundreds of secrets scattered across Hyrule. A majestic, and beautiful game, with tons to offer even the most experienced gamer. Best of all, you can even name your horse Roach if you really want to port the Witcher experience across platforms.

FromSoft games are known for their difficult combat and indecipherable lore. While that reputation may be a bit underserved – it’s pretty easy to level up in Dark Souls 3 – the combat system does take a little time to get used to. Dark Souls 3 is a great game for people who were big fans of Witcher 3’s swordfights and the Velen portion of the game. There’s a tinge of folk and gothic horror to everything in Dark Souls and this game is no exception. Trade out your Tawny Owl potions for an Estus Flask and get to playing!

A realistic RPG set in the Holy Roman Empire, this open-world game has swords, kings, knights, and everything in between. A great story of loss and revenge ties it all together in a nice little video game package. Come for the period-accurate architecture and stay for the plot, characters, and swordplay. A perfect game for fans of Geralt’s adventures.
10. Fable Anniversary (PC / PS4 / XBOX)

A true RPG classic, the remastered Fable allows gamers to experience the game on a newer generation of consoles, complete with updated graphics.. One of the first video games where your choices truly matter, Fable makes sure that your actions affect the plot and the world in ways that will stun and amaze.. Similar to Witcher 3, every little decision you make can have manifold consequences. Consequences that might not become clear until you’ve progressed much farther in the game. A great game for anyone who wants to go back to where it all began.
9. Ghost of Tsushima (PS)
Seems like a mistake to have a fight in the middle of an actual river of blood.

Samurai fighting ancient ghosts, dragons, and demons. Need I say more? Tight combat, beautiful design, and superb animation all make Ghost of Tsushima one of the greatest games of its generation, especially if you are a fan of Witcher 3. Excellent enemy design and combat A.I. will keep you coming back for a long time. If that’s not enough for you, it also has an excellent story, a choice system that changes the world, and it will keep you occupied for hours on end. You know what? Just go out and get it now. I’ll stop writing.
8. Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor (PC / PS4 / XBOX)

Not all Lord of the Rings video games are good. Shadow of Mordor, however, is quite excellent. Introducing a new “Nemesis” system, this RPG creates new player-controlled stories in the realm of Middle Earth. Featuring a new cast of characters in some of your favorite settings, this game truly brings together the best of what video games and Lord of the Rings have to offer. Fight your way through hordes of orcs, Uruk-hai, and other fell creatures, as you work to avenge the death of your lover. Featuring leveling systems similar to those of Witcher 3, you’ll also gain new friends, and most importantly, new powers. A great introduction to the world of LOTR for those who have not yet ventured into Middle Earth.

A newer, more combat-focused RPG, Greedfall transports players to a world populated by all types of spirits, magic users, and colonists. In Greedfall you fight with a team of potential friends and enemies, picking up companions as you progress through the story. Leveling up is important in Greedfall as there are multiple ways to complete every mission, just as long as you have the right skill set. Similar to Witcher 3, this is truly a game where your choices matter. Colonies and empires rise and fall depending on what you do. So tread carefully adventurer, you never what tragedy a misstep might cause.
6. Horizon: Forbidden West (PS4)

Sorry XBOX owners, this game is not for you. The sequel to Horizon: Zero Dawn, this game follows protagonist Aloy as she travels west in the post-apocalyptic United States. A Playstation exclusive, Forbidden West is an excellent open-world adventure. While the setting is a far cry from that of Witcher 3, the games themselves are similar. Players travel over fantastic landscapes, make life-altering decisions, and kill strange beasts. The combat in Forbidden West is especially great, with Aloy using her bow and other gadgets to topple monsters across the map. A game worth buying a Playstation for.
5. Monster Hunter: World (PC / PS4 / XBOX)

Monster Hunter is a long-running series, and Monster Hunter: World takes it to a whole new level. In World you hunt down monsters, lots of monsters. When you kill them you take trophies from them to build bigger and better weapons. You can also tame some of beasts, using them to help you in your fights. A great game for fans of Witcher 3’s fights against cyclopses, the Apiarian Phantom, and Royal Wyvern. Conquer the vast wilds of World and become the best Hunter you can be.
4. Fallout: New Vegas (PC / PS4 / XBOX)

Another classic, Bethesda’s Fallout: New Vegas is considered by some to be the pinnacle of open-world RPGs. Taking place in an apocalyptic future, you make your way through what is left of Las Vegas after a nuclear disaster. Along the way, you’ll make some friends and plenty of enemies. Team up with some of the existing political factions, or ignore them, but be warned, any choice you make will have consequences. Play as a sniper, a tank, or just a smooth-talking pacificist. The world is yours. A perfect game for those jonesing for more of Witcher 3’s conversations.
3. Red Dead Redemption 2 (PC / PS4 / XBOX)
Make it Dirty Harry, but in the West.

If you enjoyed Witcher 3’s huge open world, then you’ll love Red Dead Redemption’s vast American West. A ginormous open-world game, this is technically a prequel to the much-beloved Red Dead Redemption. If you’re looking to sink your teeth into another game for 100+ hours then look no further. You’ll be hunting alligators, killing KKK members, and hijacking trains for days on end. You’ll do all this while leading a band of outlaws across harsh, forbidding lands. Beautifully rendered, vastly intricate, and at times hysterical, you’ll wish you had played this when it first came out.
2. Dragon Age: Inquisition (PC / PS4 / XBOX)

Loved Witcher 3’s setting and conversation trees? Then you’ll adore Dragon Age: Inquisition. The third Dragon Age game, Inquisition improves on the already great combat and storytelling of the other games in every way. Political intrigue, demons, and a fight to save the world from destruction, all blend together in a wonder mélange. You’ll make friends, lovers, and enemies along the way, sometimes all three at once. As an added bonus, there are two amazing DLC’s that only enhance the game, adding an ending that teases the next game.

Every fan of Witcher 3 should play Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey. Set in Ancient Greece, you get to visit the worlds of the Gods, navigate ship battles, and fight mythical creatures such as the Minotaur. Ride your trusty steed into Athens, debate with Socrates, win some Olympic events, and even meet Zeus. Truly a game that takes the best of Witcher 3 and makes it even better.
