Detroit: Become Human Best Choices.

The consequences of your actions are your worst enemies in Detroit: Become Human

Your actions in Detroit: Become Human will not only affect the game’s ending, but also how the cut scenes play out, how long some characters stay alive, and how the supporting characters behave towards our three android protagonists. This game has an extremely large number of options, complex branching paths, and possible endings, so it may sometimes prove difficult to make the right choices. However, it won’t be that difficult if we give you the important choices you’ll have to make for that well-deserved happy ending, right? Keep reading, lucky PS4 owner, because that’s what this article is all about!

Character no. 1: Connor

Connor, the prototype RK800 android designed to assist in investigations involving deviants, is the very first character you’ll be controlling in the game. He has been assigned to be the partner of Lt. Hank Anderson, an eccentric detective that hates androids and has suicidal tendencies. Here are the most important key points and choices for Connor that you need to know:

  • Don’t fail QTEs! Connor will just keep coming back with a new body if he dies, but this would badly affect his relationship with Hank because he won’t be able to retain some of his memories.
  • You need Connor to be kind and understanding to Hank at ALL TIMES. Buy him a drink in the Partners chapter, and save Hank whenever he’s in danger even if it means risking the mission or Connor’s life.
  • Do not kill the Tracis in the The Eden Club chapter and Chloe in the Meet Kamski chapter. It’s a given that Hank hates androids, but as the story progresses, he’ll start changing his mind about them. Killing them would leave a bad taste in Hank’s mouth.
  • During the Russian Roulette chapter, examine every nook and cranny in Hank’s house. Doing so will unlock important dialogue choices in the later chapters for increasing Hank’s trust and saving the real Connor in the Battle of Detroit chapter.
  • Increase Connor’s software instability by becoming compassionate towards others. It will unlock the option for Connor to become deviant later on.
  • You’ll need Connor to become deviant by joining Markus’s cause in the Crossroads chapter.
  • Make sure to head back to CyberLife to liberate the androids near the ending, which will play a huge role in the androids’ liberation.
  • There will be a time when Amanda, Connor’s handler, will try to control Connor to kill Markus. To avoid this, just make sure that you reach the exit in Zen Garden before the time runs out.

Connor confused if he should stop Hank from drinking or if he should just buy him another drink.

Character no.2: Kara

Kara is an AX400 android that’s designed to be a housemaid (Oh boy, I sure want one!) In the game, she is serving the home of her hot-headed owner, Todd Williams, and his young daughter, the sweet and innocent Alice Williams. Later in the game, you’ll be meeting one more key character in her story, Luther, who you’ll need to team up with.

  • Always keep Kara, Alice, and Luther alive by not failing any QTE.
  • Never abandon anyone even if it risks Kara’s or Alice’s life. Risking their lives doesn’t mean that you should let them die, however.
  • In Zlatko’s home in the Zlatko chapter, free the androids and the bear. They will help you escape Zlatko later on.
  • After successfully escaping Zlatko’s home, let Luther join you.
  • Be careful not to get caught by the police in the On The Run chapter, be patient and wait for the perfect opportunity to pass through.
  • In the Midnight Train chapter, tell Luther to go upstairs to avoid being seen by the police officer snooping around the house.
  • In the Crossroads chapter, play dead to avoid being killed.
  • When Kara picks up the bus tickets in the Battle for Detroit chapter, don’t return them to their owner so Kara, Alice, and Luther can safely ride the bus. I know this feels like a bad choice, but trust me, it’s for the better.

Character no.3: Markus

Markus is a domestic RK200 android originally owned by Carl Manfred, a renowned painter in Detroit. Due to certain circumstances, he’ll later be joined by fellow androids North, Josh, Simon, and several other deviants to lead a rebellion against android oppression.

  • As with Kara, keep everyone alive by not failing QTEs.
  • Lead a peaceful revolution to preserve a good public opinion, so make sure to stay out of fights whenever possible and always refuse to kill even if North doesn’t like it. This will also make it easier for Kara, Alice, and Luther to cross the border in case the customs agent realizes that they are androids in a later chapter.
  • As with Kara, never abandon anyone. Be a hero that saves everyone in need.
  • During Markus’s first encounter with the police, choose to flee to ensure Markus’s survival.
  • Trust Connor, who will be joining the cause later on, as his assistance is very important in achieving a nonviolent revolution.
  • When Perkins tries to strike you a deal in the Battle for Detroit chapter, refuse.
  • Later on in the scene where the androids get cornered by the SWAT, choose to sing to win the hearts of the public and end the conflict.
