What Are The Strongest and Weakest Character's in HoloCure?
HoloCure - Save the Fans! Is a popular free rogue-like PC game in the style of Vampire Survivors featuring VTubers from the Hololive VTuber agency. The game is notable for its large number of playable characters, all with their own unique weapons, skills and play styles.
With the game's already impressive roster about to expand further in the fast approaching 0.7 update, let's take a look at how the current 38 characters in the 0.6 version measure up.

Minato Aqua (58/100)
1. Nanashi Mumei (S Tier 94/100)
Nanashi Mumei is an incredibly powerful character in HoloCure. Her base weapon, the Bird Feather, starts off as a fairly standard directional attack but when awakened begins to home in on enemies all over the screen.
Her skills are strong and balanced. Friend summons Mumei's paper bag mascot who constantly floats around the screen both picking up exp for Mumei and attacking enemies with his own version of bird feather and two of Mumei's current other weapons as he does. Civilization meanwhile amplifies Mumei's attack stat in two ways, based on how many enemies are currently on screen and based on how many enemies Mumei has killed in the run (with a bonus coming for every 100 enemies slain). This can be especially great on Endless mode, where Mumei's attack stat can reach incredible levels as you mow down hordes of enemies. Finally, Bloodthirsty piles on the attack gains by giving Mumei an additional 60% attack boost whenever it is activated while also providing regular healing.
Mumei's special, True Horror, is also very useful, wiping an entire screen clear of enemies instantly and temporarily boosting Mumei's attack speed for even more DPS. Though the clear does not work on bosses, it can be used strategically to eliminate dangerous stage hazards when they appear or whenever the player feels threatened.
What makes Mumei so good:
- Bird Feather has excellent spread and automatically homes at max level.
- Bird Feather is a multi shot weapon with high attack speed. This gives it good synergy with some powerful stamps like the Projectile Up and Bomb Stamp.
- Friend collects exp for you, making level ups faster and pick up range less of a priority
- Friend also provided great DPS, especially later into a run once Mumei has collab weapons available for him to use as well.
- Thanks to the Civilization skill Mumei's attack stat can easily reach much higher levels than most other characters, giving her some of the best DPS potential in the game.
- Bloodthirsty boosts attack further and also provides a regular source of healing. Though the heal is fairly small, this limits Mumei's need for too many defensive items, allowing the player to focus more on selecting items that further increase DPS.
- True Horror, though not a good anti-boss special, is still versatile in its uses. It makes an effective panic button, or can be used strategically to clear timed stage hazards the player doesn't want to deal with. It also furthers her DPS by increasing haste temporarily.
- Recommended item build: Kusogaki Shackles, Candy Kingdom Sweets, Injection Type Asacoco, Gorilla Paw, Energy Drink, Study Glasses

2. IRyS (S Tier 94/100)
IRyS is an exceptionally well balanced character who is easy to make into a powerhouse. Her starting weapon, called Nephilim Blast, becomes a rapid fire spread beam when awakened. Its unrivaled attack speed gives it a lot of great stamp and item synergies and also results in an increased benefit from enhancing it past max level.
IRyS skills all work in sync with each other. Hope increases her critical hit rate, Half Angel gives her a chance to heal every time she lands a critical hit and Half Demon boosts her attack stat every time she heals. Hope also adds a heal chance and chance to push away enemies. So through her skills IRyS will have elevated DPS from her boosted attack and crit and also be healing constantly.
Her special, Hope is Descending, is a straightforward powerful attack that covers a wide area of the screen. Though less interesting and effective than some specials in the game, it is regardless an effective attack option for bosses and difficult to deal with swarms.
What makes IRyS so good:
- Awakened Nephilim Blast's rate of attack is matched by few things in the game. This means a greater damage increase from enhancements and excellent synergy with any stamp with an effect that triggers on attack. For added attack area and DPS, the Bomb Stamp is a must.
- Due to the above, IRyS is an ideal candidate for coin farming runs. By playing endless mode, limiting the weapon slots so she can only use Nephilim Blast and picking up the Greed Stamp, it's easy to get a massive amount of coins without difficulty.
- Her skills sync perfectly making her naturally strong. Unless the player deliberately picks something like the Gorilla Paw that disrupts the balance, she can be a highly effective character without too much planning.
- Her skills give both offense and defense with heightened attack, crit, constant healing and occasional pushes away enemies who score a hit.
- Hope is Descending is an effective though unremarkable special attack that can be used for good damage.
- Recommended item build: Hope Soda, GWS Pill, Plushie, Focus Shades, Membership, Study Glasses.
https://holocure.wiki.gg/wiki/IRyS
3. Ceres Fauna (S Tier 92/100)
Ceres Fauna is easy to build into a character who enemies will have immense difficulty overcoming. Her starting weapon, the Nature Shield, creates damaging leaves that expand from her in a circle without need to be aimed. When awakened, the leaves fly out from the circle and home in on enemies for an additional attack, providing overall excellent coverage.
Fauna's skills make her a DPS healer. Guardian Tree gives her an additional powerful attack triggered every time she heals. Sapling causes enemies to drop sapling pick ups on occasion that heal Fauna slightly while boosting her attack and speed. Whisper gives up to five stackable shields at a rate of one every ten seconds that can nullify a single enemy attack and will regularly heal Fauna until they are used. By picking up saplings regularly while avoiding hits as best as possible, Fauna will heal enough to generate lots of Guardian Trees for impressive damage, but the number can be amplified to an even greater extent by building her with things like the Nurse's Horn item or the Jingisukan super collab that provide constant tics of healing.
Her special, Mother Nature, makes Fauna completely invulnerable for ten seconds while also healing her multiple times through its duration. Though it does no damage on its own, it will trigger many Guardian Trees while active and also allow Fauna to stand safely in dangerous spots until the effect ends.
What makes Fauna so good:
- Nature Shield, even at base levels, doesn't need to be aimed by the player. When Awakened, it has an additional homing attack for each leaf that gives it great screen coverage.
- Similar to Bird Feather, Nature Shield is a multi shot attack with lots of projectiles and good attack speed, making many stamps like Bomb and Projectile Up very useful.
- Guardian Tree is a very powerful DPS source that can be maximized by creating a build that focuses on rate of healing and by grabbing the Beetle item.
- Whisper is a great defensive skill that not only provides heals to trigger Guardian Tree, but also can nullify enemy attacks.
- Collecting Saplings heals for more Guardian Trees while boosting Fauna's attack and movement speed.
- Mother Nature makes Fauna completely invulnerable for ten seconds, making it a great panic button. Though it doesn't directly damage the enemy, it gives several tics of healing which will activate Guardian Tree.
- Recommended item build: Nurse's Horn, Uber Sheep, Beetle, Headphones, Energy Drink, Researcher's Coat.

4. Takanashi Kiara (S Tier 90/100)
Takanashi Kiara is one of the starting characters in HoloCure but also one of the best. Perfectly well rounded, she is an ideal choice for both new and experienced players. Her starting weapon, the Phoenix Sword, is a melee weapon that starts with average range but upon awakening the attack radius becomes quite large. It also starts hitting for multiple hits per strike and leaving fire behind for yet more damage.
Her skills work well together and individually. Phoenix Shield is her defensive skill, which does a great job of keeping Kiara from being overwhelmed by halving damage from multiple enemy attacks and giving Kiara short grace periods of invulnerability when being hit repeatedly. Her Dancer skill requires her to keep moving to stay active but both heals her every five seconds and also increases her attack and critical stats. This is complimented well by her third skill, Trailblazer, which also incentivizes Kiara to stay moving by both giving her a significant movement speed buff and by generating fire everywhere Kiara walks on screen.
Kiara's special, Phoenix Fire, is among the best in the game, creating an explosion of initial heavy damage, generating a pattern of fire for even more lingering damage and also giving Kiara a buff that will revive her instantly to full HP if she is killed within 15 seconds of triggering the attack.
What makes Kiara so good:
- When awakened, Phoenix Sword is among the best melee main weapons, with a large area of effect, multiple hits and the added damage from the lingering fire it generates.
- Phoenix Sword benefits well from increases to attack size and attack speed, making the Size Up and Haste Up stamps good choices for her.
- Phoenix Shield is a good defensive skill that can carry a lot of the weight for the defensive side of your build, allowing more DPS boosting items to be chosen.
- Dancer supplies dependable healing while also boosting attack. At max level it boosts crit rate as well, making crit builds very viable for Kiara. You need to keep moving for the effect, but it's best to stay in motion in HoloCure anyway.
- Trailblazer gives Kiara more movement speed, a big plus considering Dancer wants you always in motion. It also adds to DPS by creating fire where you walk.
- Phoenix Fire is an excellent special that not only does great damage to enemies and bosses, but also gives Kiara the ability to instantly revive at full HP for15 seconds after triggering the attack.
- Recommended item build: Knightly Milk, Idol Costume, Ninja Headband, Membership, Energy Drink, Study Glasses.
https://holocure.wiki.gg/wiki/Takanashi_Kiara
5. Yuzuki Choco (A Tier 89/100)
Choco is a healing to damage character like Fauna and can be similarly powerful, but she is a bit trickier since she also relies on the crit stat. Her weapon, Love Needle, is directional and can heal Choco after awakening. Her skills all increase the benefit of landing a critical hit, Demon Whisper by giving a chance to charm enemies hit with crits, Chocotto Cooking by periodically increasing crit damage (while also healing Choco) and Nurse by making every heal performed on Choco have its own crit chance where a crit heal will damage nearby enemies in addition to healing Choco.
None of her skills actually raise Choco's crit chance, however, so players will need to be smart with their item picks, taking both items for crit chance and to increase heals. Recommended item build: Nurse's Horn, Sake, Uber Sheep, Hope Soda, Focus Shades, Study Glasses.
https://holocure.wiki.gg/wiki/Yuzuki_Choco
6. Gawr Gura (A Tier 88/100)
Another starting character, Gura has a lot going for her. Her weapon, the Trident Thrust, is a melee weapon that can feel somewhat underwhelming due to its range and lack of special effects, but she makes up for it with very useful skills. Short Height gives her a chance to dodge attacks that if paired with the Headphones item makes her very slippery, Shark Bite both reduces enemy defense and provides steady healing and Power of Atlantis creates large whirlpools on screen that both damage enemies and keep them away from you.
Her special, Shark Call also has one of the shortest cooldowns in the game, does quick solid damage and increases her attack and movement speed significantly for 15 seconds. Recommended item build: Headphones, Ninja Headband, Beetle, Gorilla Paw, Knightly Milk, Study Glasses
https://holocure.wiki.gg/wiki/Gawr_Gura
7. Mori Calliope (A Tier 88/100)
Also a starting character, Calliope is a great DPS dealer. Scythe swing, her weapon has a great attack radius even at low levels and at max level has an instant kill chance. Her skills all boost DPS, The Rapper by lowering the defense of nearby enemies, Death by creating chain explosions that can also instantly kill enemies and Workaholic by giving a bonus to the attack stat so long as Calli keeps killing enemies.
Her special, The Reaper, does no damage on its own but gives Calli a 15 second buff that massively increases crit damage and damage from her scythe. None of her skills offer any kind of defense or healing so the player will need to provide that through their build. Recommended item build: Candy Kingdom Sweets, Knightly Milk, Ninja Headband, Uber Sheep, Sake, Study Glasses.
https://holocure.wiki.gg/wiki/Mori_Calliope
8. Amelia Watson (A Tier 86/100)
Amelia, another starter, is about the most straightforward DPS character in the game. Her Pistol Shot weapon fires small projectiles at the enemy at a decent rate. FPS Mastery boosts weapon damage and attack speed, Detective Eye significantly increases crit chance and adds an instant kill chance and Bubba summons Amelia's dog Bubba to roam the field, attacking enemies and gathering exp for his owner.
Her Slow Time special does exactly as you'd think, slowing all enemies on screen to a crawl while also temporarily amplifying the attack speed of Amelia's pistol. As with Calli, her skills offer no healing or defense whatsoever. Recommended item build: Sake, Uber Sheep, Focus Shades, Membership, Hope Soda, Study Glasses.
https://holocure.wiki.gg/wiki/Amelia_Watson
9. Hakos Baelz (A Tier 85/100)
Bae is a fun character perfect for anyone who enjoys a bit of randomness. Play Dice, her weapon, throws up to three dice (five if you find the Projectile Up stamp) with the strength of the hits being determined by the numbers shown on the dice. Her skills, other than Down Under which just offers a bit of crowd control and visual chaos, cement her as a critical hit powerhouse with RatNG giving a hefty bonus to crit rate and CRATical Hit greatly magnifying the damage crits generate.
Her special, Absolute Chaos, which sends her attack speed into absolute hyper mode for five seconds, is among the game's most powerful, able to delete a lot of bosses almost instantly. Recommended item build: Idol Costume, GWS Pill, Focus Shades, Nurse's Horn, Membership, Study Glasses
https://holocure.wiki.gg/wiki/Hakos_Baelz
10. Ayunda Risu (A Tier 83/100)
Risu is a strong character who can easily cover the entire screen with constant projectiles. Her main weapon is her Nuts which she throws in front of her and bounce upon hitting the edge of the screen when awakened. Two of her skills amplify the effectiveness of her Nuts, Nonstop Nuts by giving Nuts a chance to explode after hitting an enemy, generating many more Nuts, and Deez by giving each Nut a chance to instantly take a quarter of any non boss enemy's max HP.
Her third skill, DLC, not only creates doubles of Risu that add to her DPS, but also passively gives you free coins and combines nicely with the Greed Stamp and coin collecting items like the Stolen Piggy Bank and Super Chatto Time to make her an ideal candidate for coin farming runs. Her special, Big Nuts, is fun and pretty powerful. Recommended item build: Stolen Piggy Bank, Membership, Nurse's Horn, Gorilla Paw, Face Mask, Study Glasses.
https://holocure.wiki.gg/wiki/Ayunda_Risu
11. Yozora Mel (A Tier 83/100)
Mel is another healing based character and generally feels less powerful than Fauna and Choco but is arguably the most broken character in the game if the player creates the Jingisukan super collab during their run. This is because of how her skills synergize. Mel Mel Cooking creates food periodically that can distract enemies or also be consumed for a heal, Acerola Juice boosts Mel's attack, her speed and also makes her next eight attacks life-steal attacks every time she eats food and Genius Vampire summons damaging bats to attack every time Mel life-steals. Since every single tic of healing from Jingisukan counts as eating food, with it Acerola Juice will be constantly active as long as Mel is in the Jingisukan aura, she will be constantly life-stealing and in turn constantly summoning bats.
Mel's base weapon, Kapu Kapu, can also life-steal and life-steals can be increased further with Nurse's Horn. Recommended item build: Uber Sheep (for Jingisukan), Nurse's Horn, Sake, Membership, Breastplate, Limiter.
https://holocure.wiki.gg/wiki/Yozora_Mel
12. Ninomae Ina'nis (A Tier 81/100)
The last of our starting characters, Ina, is also a reliable choice. Her Summon Tentacle is slow but develops a massive area of effect for a melee weapon that can be increased further with the Size Up stamp or Knightly Milk. This and other large area weapon attacks work well with her The Forbidden Wah skill which multiplies damage on all attacks that hit more than four times or four targets.
Her other two skills both replace enemies on the field with what are called Harmless Takodachis, ghostly octopi that fuse together as they roam the field and will heal Ina and explode and damage enemies depending on their size whenever she touches one. The Ancient One also gathers some exp for Ina while The Void damages and slows surrounding enemies. Recommended item build: Knightly Milk, Kusogaki Shackles, Candy Kingdom Sweets, Injection Type Asacoco, Gorilla Paw, Study Glasses.
https://holocure.wiki.gg/wiki/Ninomae_Ina%27nis
13. Roboco-san (A Tier 80/100)
Roboco is a character with a fun and interesting gimmick where gathering exp and leveling up as fast as possible leads to more DPS. Battery Charged causes enemies to sometimes drop batteries which when collected count as additional exp and release a shock that stuns nearby foes temporarily, Robo Discharge causes Roboco to release a powerful electric attack every time she levels up that gets stronger as she does and Hi-Level causes Roboco's attack and crit rate to scale as she piles on levels.
She also has a powerful special called Hi-Spec Mode that greatly boosts all of her stats temporarily while also firing off what is essentially a stronger version of her Robo Discharge. Recommended item build: Study Glasses, Researcher's Coat, Limiter, Halu, Body Pillow, Membership.
https://holocure.wiki.gg/wiki/Roboco-san
14. Tsukumo Sana (B Tier 79/100)
Sana is a strong character if you build her smartly. Her Orbit attack requires no aiming, has good attack area and gets good knockback. Astrology either heals her or applies a buff to a random stat every 15 seconds while Gravity releases a damaging blast to surrounding enemies every five seconds. The key skill to keep in mind for Sana, however, is Speaker of Space, which increases her attack size and makes increases to attack size, including from the skill itself, also increase attack damage.
Become Beeg, her special, is also good, granting a period of invulnerability, doing damage and then automatically collecting all exp on screen. Recommended item build: Knightly Milk, Gorilla Paw, Ninja Headband, Membership, Just Bandage, Study Glasses.
https://holocure.wiki.gg/wiki/Tsukumo_Sana
15. Ouro Kronii (B Tier 78/100)
Kronii is a very powerful character, but one that requires a bit of skill or a careful build to use effectively. This is because of her key skill, Perfection, which significantly boosts all her stats, but only if she is at full HP. What can make this easier is Kronii's ability to stun enemies, both with her main weapon, Clock Hands and her Time Bubble skill. Her third skill, Kroniicopter, increases both movement and attack speed, with a further increase being applied so long as Kronii is able to land critical hits.
Her special, Ruler of Time also does good damage across the entire screen while stunning enemies. Recommended item build: Body Pillow, Researcher's Coat, Energy Drink, Hope Soda, Sake, Membership.
https://holocure.wiki.gg/wiki/Ouro_Kronii
16. Oozora Subaru (B Tier 78/100)
Subaru is a character who doesn't feel very powerful at first but if played smartly can be incredibly difficult for enemies to kill. Her weapon, Baseball Pitch, is a directional projectile with a narrow range, but it is balanced with her Duck Whisper skill which does area of effect damage surrounding Subaru every ten seconds and can stun targets. Both attacks also do more damage to closer enemies which can be exploited.
Her other two skills are more defensive in nature, with Oozora Police giving Subaru access to a periodically refilling supply of handcuffs she can use to 'arrest' and remove any non boss enemies that attack her while Sunny Optimism raises Subaru's attack speed and also gives her a positive status sometimes when hit that allows her to survive and recover from death. Recommended item build: Uber Sheep, Membership, Just Bandage, Gorilla Paw, Piki Piki Piman, Study Glasses.
https://holocure.wiki.gg/wiki/Oozora_Subaru
17. Kaela Kovalskia (B Tier 78/100)
Kaela is a very strong character but one with a unique play style that won't be for everyone. Her Material Grind skill causes enemies to sometimes leave behind ore that Kaela can mine with her Blacksmith Hammer weapon which will increase her weapon damage once enough is collected. Her other skills are a bit more straightforward, with No Pressure constantly slowing and damaging targets in an area surrounding Kaela and Blacksmith causing anvils to fall on enemies that on rare occasion stick around to become extra upgrade anvils.
Her special, The Rarest Material, summons a giant ore that Kaela must mine with her hammer, unleashing a damaging shockwave with each strike and boosting several of Kaela's stats temporarily once fully collected. Recommended item build: Blacksmith's Gear, Credit Card, Beetle, Ninja Headband, Nurse's Horn, Membership.
https://holocure.wiki.gg/wiki/Kaela_Kovalskia
18. Moona Hoshinova (B Tier 77/100)
Moona is an all around solid DPS character with several unique attacks at her disposal. Her main weapon, Crescent Moon, has a large attack radius, the Moon Song skill periodically fires away from Moona to distract and damage enemies and Lunar Construction regularly builds exploding robots that charge into nearby foes. Her last skill, Moona & Hoshinova gives an attack buff that becomes a defense buff instead for five seconds after Moona takes a hit.
Moona's special, Moon Goddess, is one of the coolest looking in the game, causing Moona to temporarily transform into a goddess with massively increased stats and a different attack pattern to replace Crescent Moon. Recommended Item build: Beetle, Idol Costume, Membership, Knightly Milk, Just Bandage, Study Glasses.
https://holocure.wiki.gg/wiki/Moona_Hoshinova
19. Shirakami Fubuki (B Tier 75/100)
Fubuki is an interesting character with a unique play style centered around movement speed and dodging. Her key skill, Fox King, increases her attack in proportion to her movement speed. Friendzone further increases her speed and gives her a periodic free dodge that triggers a massive speed surge while Kon Kon gives her a natural dodge chance and gives all dodges a chance to unleash a damaging burst. Fubuki's special, Fubuki Storm, plays into the build by giving her 100% dodge chance while active, allowing her to run into enemies for many free Kon Kon bursts, all while doing solid damage to enemies across the screen.
Items that increase speed, dodge chance, defense or health are useful to make her into an effective dodge tank, while the Beetle can significantly boost DPS from Kon Kon. Recommended item build: Ninja Headband, Beetle, Membership, Headphones, Just Bandage, Study Glasses.
https://holocure.wiki.gg/wiki/Shirakami_Fubuki
20. Inugami Korone (B Tier 75/100)
Korone is a defensive brawler with skills that can be put to good use in a run. Her weapon, Orayo!, a flurry of fists which despite what one might assume are a multi shot weapon rather than melee, hits hard and fast and pairs well with the Bomb Stamp. For considering a build her most significant skill is Endurance, a significant boost to her defense (and periodic attack boost) that when paired with other defense boosting items like Breastplate and Membership can make her feel like most attacks glance off. This effect is furthered by her Choco Coronet skill which not only gives her a healing source but also more max HP.
Her third skill, Korone Brainwashing, 'brainwashes' targets causing them to give her their fingers when defeated, boosting Korone's attack speed for each finger collected. Recommended item build: Membership, Breastplate, Piki Piki Piman, Just Bandage, Full Meal, Study Glasses.
https://holocure.wiki.gg/wiki/Inugami_Korone
21. Nakiri Ayame (B Tier 74/100)
Ayame is a solid character who offers a fair bit of freedom to build in various ways. Her Dual Katana weapon is a satisfying and powerful melee attack that fires extra projectiles when awakened. Her Lady of Oni skill boosts her attack speed when Dual Katana kills enemies, so it can be a good idea to equip stamps like ATK Up and Size Up to make sure it doesn't get lost behind your collab weapons late in a run. Her other skills are Nakirium, which increases movement speed and experience dropped by enemies, and Ayame Defense Field, a periodic shield that blocks all attacks while active.
Her special, Spirit of the Oni, massively increases the attack speed of Dual Katana for a few seconds and then does massive damage to everything on screen. Recommended item build: Kusogaki Shackles, Injection Type Asacoco, Candy Kingdom Sweets, Face Mask, Body Pillow, Study Glasses.
https://holocure.wiki.gg/wiki/Nakiri_Ayame
22. Kureiji Ollie (B Tier 73/100)
Ollie is a bit complicated to play but has a lot of useful tricks at her disposal. Her Undead skill lets her survive at zero HP for ten seconds at the cost of a temporary halving of her max HP every time it activates. Simp of All Time causes enemies to drop merch bags that increase both movement and attack speed at the cost of slight temporary damage.
Zombie Ninjutsu, meanwhile, creates a meter at the bottom of the screen that charges as Ollie moves. If Ollie stops moving, she will release one of four elemental attacks depending on how full the meter is: a fire attack that does great single target damage, a water attack that damages surrounding enemies and heals Ollie, an earth attack that damages surrounding enemies in a wider area and also pushes them away from Ollie or an electric attack that targets the entire screen and stuns enemies. Charge Rifle, her special, fires a thin laser that erupts into a powerful blast, with the trick being that the blast's damage is amplified based on how many enemies you tag with the beam in its initial state. Recommended item build: Ninja Headband, Beetle, Energy Drink, Uber Sheep, Body Pillow, Study Glasses.
https://holocure.wiki.gg/wiki/Kureiji_Ollie
23. Nekomata Okayu (B Tier 71/100)
Okayu is a fun character to play due to the uniqueness of her food related abilities. Feast and Yummy increase food drops with Yummy also giving Okayu a buff to her attack, speed and crit as long as she keeps eating. Her third skill, Sensitive Voice, however, takes it to another level, by increasing Okayu's crit and giving all crits a chance to 'charm' enemies, with said enemies becoming edible if Okayu runs into them.
Mogu Mogu, her special, temporarily makes all enemies on screen other than bosses edible, allowing Okayu to devour whole hordes while healing in the process. Recommended item build: Sake, Focus Shades, Full Meal, Membership, Hope Soda, Limiter.
https://holocure.wiki.gg/wiki/Nekomata_Okayu
24. Akai Haato (C Tier 69/100)
Haato has one of the most distinct play styles in the game. She has two 'forms', Haato and Haachama, that she can freely switch between by activating her unusual special, Change of Heart, which doesn't do much damage but has a cooldown of only ten seconds. Haato form is defense oriented while Haachama is all offense. In Haato form, her weapon, Red Heart, surrounds her and when awakened lowers the attack of enemies, while her skills Purity and Insanity and Worldwide Strongest Idol skills grant her steady healing and increased defense respectively. In Haachama form, Red Heart becomes a directional attack that lowers enemy defense when awakened, Purity and Insanity adds poison damage to Red Heart and Worldwide Strongest Idol increases her attack.
Her third skill, Coexistence, basically just gives her a real special, making Change of Heart send her into Coexistence mode after a long cooldown, where Haato will use both versions of Red Heart simultaneously and all skill effects will be active. Recommended item build: Membership, Breastplate, Gorilla Paw, Uber Sheep (try for Jingisukan), Knightly Milk, Study Glasses.
https://holocure.wiki.gg/wiki/Akai_Haato
25. Sakura Miko (C Tier 69/100)
Miko is an above average character with a lot to offer. Her weapon, Sakura Gohei, and special, Demon Lord's Domain, seem like straightforward attacks, but it is worth noting that they both reduce enemy defense. Eroge Hero is a fairly good healing skill and Elite combines with it well by buffing Miko's attack and speed so long as she heals.
Her most interesting skill is probably Baby Language?, which gives all attacks a chance to generate an additional attack over an area that reduces enemy attack and speed. To get the most out of this, focus on increasing Miko's attack speed while also picking weapons with a high rate of fire. Recommended item build: Candy Kingdom Sweets, Knightly Milk, Nurse's Horn, Ninja Headband, Membership, Study Glasses.
https://holocure.wiki.gg/wiki/Sakura_Miko
26. Pavolia Reine (C Tier 68/100)
Reine is a fun character with some helpful abilities. Notably, her unusual special, Tonjok which gives her five massive punches she can save and use on enemies as you please, generates coins at such a rate that Reine is the rare character who is able to farm coins effectively without the uncertain element of the Greed Stamp appearing during a run.
Her skills make her a crit focused character. Attention Please slows enemies and boosts crit rate based on the number of enemies surrounding Reine, Lady of the Peafowl increases crit damage when she collects coins and Wind Magic causes crits to boost her attack speed and also gives every crit a chance to generate a wind attack. Recommended item build: GWS Pill, Focus Shades, Beetle, Idol Costume, Uber Sheep, Limiter.
https://holocure.wiki.gg/wiki/Pavolia_Reine
27. Hoshimachi Suisei (C Tier 67/100)
Suisei is a crit focused character who with a proper build can do significant damage. Her weapon, Axe Swing, performs devastating auto crits when awakened, but the trade off is that it has probably the worst range of any main weapon in the game. Her skills in part rectify this with Stellar giving every crit a chance to both increase Suisei's attack stat and damage surrounding enemies while Blocks Master gives all crits a chance to summon a falling block attack that can immobilize enemies.
Her third skill, Suicopath, meanwhile, increases crit rate and also gives every attack either by Axe Swing or the Psycho Axe weapon and any of its collabs a chance to heal Suisei. Recommended item build: Hope Soda, Knightly Milk, Ninja Headband, Sake (try for Snow Queen), Membership, Study Glasses.

28. Aki Rosenthal (C Tier 66/100)
Aki can be an extremely powerful character, but requires game knowledge and a fair amount of technique to get the most potential out of her. The key skill for building her properly is Mukirose, which launches an extra attack every time a stat debuff is applied to an enemy. Her Aromatherapy skill supplements this nicely, stacking random stat debuffs regularly on enemies within a certain radius, as does her main weapon, Aik, which has a defense debuff chance when awakened, but for optimal use the player should also make use of debuff stamps and aim for debuffing weapon collabs like Rap Dog, Broken Dreams and Frozen Sea.
Her third skill, Belly Dancing, is an attack that charges while Aki moves and is activated when she comes to a stop. It can be used regularly to control crowds, making up for the sometimes erratic behavior of Aik (which targets enemies randomly) or it can be stored up for a long time for massive boss killing and screen clearing blasts. Her special, Shallys, does good damage to the entire screen and also heals her. Recommended item build: Beetle, Energy Drink, Nurse's Horn, Gorilla Paw, Membership, Study Glasses.

29. Ookami Mio (C Tier 66/100)
Mio is a solid character whose play style might not come naturally to everyone. The key to success with her is actually her special, Hatotaurus, one of the best in the game in terms of damage potential, that also raises Mio's defense temporarily. The Omen skill helps her use it more often by giving her Tarot Cards weapon (already a pretty good multi shot attack, with a random debuff chance when awakened) a chance to generate an additional attack that charges the special meter if it kills any enemies.
Mio's other skills encourage her to stay in the middle of the fray, Mama healing her based on the number of enemies within a certain radius and Cheerful Laugh lowering enemy defenses based on how close they are to Mio. With this in mind, increasing her defense and max HP should be a focus. Recommended item build: Idol Costume, Piki Piki Piman, Membership, Breastplate, Just Bandage, Study Glasses.

30. Murasaki Shion (C Tier 65/100)
Shion can be a tricky character to play optimally. Her Murasaki Bolt attack has a somewhat underwhelming attack range, though it does get better after awakening. Her special, Kusogakick, deals massive damage across the screen after a short period where she dodges all attacks. This can be used to trigger her Cheeky Brat skill, which temporarily boosts Shion's attack whenever she dodges and also gives her a free dodge every 15 seconds. Her Magic Garlic skill summons a giant floating garlic bulb that wanders the screen collecting exp for Shion and dealing damage over a wide area.
If Shion stays within the garlic's attack radius, her special charges faster, which is helpful, but does make it feel sometimes like you're at the mercy of its erratic movement patterns. Even more unwieldy is her Black Magic skill, which summons a pair of portals Shion can warp between. Though the portals passively damage enemies that walk near them, keeping track of their locations and knowing when to use the warp is an added challenge. Recommended item build: Beetle, Headphones, Idol Costume, Just Bandage, Membership, Study Glasses.

31. AZKi (C Tier 65/100)
AZKi is a middle of the road character with some strengths and some weaknesses. Her Diva Song Weapon is fairly reliable and its awakened effect where projectiles are sometimes duplicated along with her high attack speed make her another good choice for coin runs. Encore is a solid attack skill that damages surrounding enemies every seven seconds.
Her other two skills, Performance and Virtual Diva, boost her movement speed and dodge chance and her attack speed respectively, but both require her to avoid damage to remain active. Her special, Full Concert, does alright damage but is generally underwhelming. Recommended item build: Body Pillow, Researcher's Coat, Headphones, Energy Drink, Membership, Beetle.

32. Kobo Kanaeru (C Tier 64/100)
Kobo is a bit of a complex character who may take some time to learn how to build correctly. Her Tantrum and Praise skills create red and blue meters that are filled by getting attacked and healing respectively. When the Tantrum meter is filled Kobo lets out a large cry that damages surrounding enemies, while a full Praise meter will grant Kobo a significant attack boost. The complication is that taking damage reduces the Praise meter, which works against the natural urge to play her as a tank to trigger Tantrum as much as possible.
Her third skill, Rain Shaman, summons rain clouds that do decent damage but have a limited area of effect. Her special, UnDeRWaTeR, is incredibly good however, dealing steady damage and massively slowing all enemies while boosting Kobo's movement speed and healing her. Recommended item build: Beetle, Just Bandage, Ninja Headband, Idol Costume, Membership, Study Glasses.

33. Anya Melfissa (C Tier 63/100)
Anya is a character with a very atypical play style who benefits from uncommon build options. Her Cutting Deep skill increases her pick up range and gives all melee weapons striking within her pick up range a chance to hit twice. This makes her one of the only characters with added incentive to take items increasing pick up range and also one of the few characters where it's important to know which collabs are counted as melee type (though it helps to generally know for runs with any character where the Ninja Headband is used).
The Slumber skill causes Anya to 'sleep' when standing still, which causes all enemies to slow to a crawl while Anya heals and takes less damage (while also dealing less). Living Weapon, meanwhile, boosts attack as Anya kills enemies and periodically produces a damaging field in a very limited area around her. Her Blade Form special is excellent, doing great damage and making her invulnerable for a time, allowing for an easy opportunity to sleep if needed. Recommended item build: Limiter, Knightly Milk, Ninja Headband, Membership, Idol Costume, Just Bandage.

34. Vestia Zeta (C Tier 62/100)
Zeta is a character with some interesting abilities, but who generally feels somewhat underpowered. Her core gimmick is her ability to turn invisible which is either triggered through her Stealth Mode special (for eight seconds) or her Secret Agent Skill (for four seconds, activated when taking a hit on a twenty second cooldown). While invisible, Zeta can't be damaged, enemies stop moving toward her, the attack pattern of her Silencer Pistol weapon changes to a wide beam and her damage goes up as well (another effect of Secret Agent).
Her Cat (?) Reflexes skill increases crit rate while moving and increases it further while invisible, and Data Collection gives crits from non-melee weapons a chance to generate bonus exp. Recommended item build: Focus Shades, GWS Pill, Membership, Idol Costume, Body Pillow, Researcher's Coat.

35. Natsuiro Matsuri (C Tier 60/100)
Matsuri can be very powerful and fun to play, but largely only with very specific builds that might not be obvious. She has a strange weapon, Ebifrion, that increases its speed and area of effect as the player spins the directional input. In theory this pairs well with the Absolute Wall collab, which is also optimally used when spinning and which Matsuri gets bonus size on, but in practice the constant spinning is exhausting and disrupts the effectiveness of any directional weapons you might have while the absurd knock back Ebifrion gets when awakened can just prove irritating when facing bosses. Matsuri is the rare character where it may pay to largely ignore her main weapon (and perhaps even experiment with the Unit and Lightness stamps).
Instead, focus on the damage output of her two skills, Seiso and God, powerful offensive skills that trigger when Matsuri is hit. Supplement these with the Beetle, Breastplate (the speed loss is offset nicely by Matsuri's Cheerleader skill, which also raises her attack) and a few other defensive items and she can become the most satisfying counter tank in the game, able to ram into hordes, survive and retaliate with heavy damage. Recommended Item build: Breastplate, Beetle, Membership, Uber Sheep (try for Jingisukan), Just Bandage, Study Glasses.

36. Tokino Sora (D Tier 59/100)
Sora is not a bad character by any means, but her skills tend to leave something to be desired when compared to similar skills from other characters. Ankimo is another companion summoning skill, bringing Sora's teddy bear to the field to wander and collect exp, but compared to other companions like Friend, Bubba and Shion's Garlic, he doesn't do much beyond dealing mild contact damage and occasionally stopping singular enemies from moving. Idol Healing makes heals also damage enemies, which is always powerful in HoloCure, but in practice characters like Fauna, Choco and Mel seem to get more DPS this way, perhaps in part because Sora has fewer natural means of healing.
Her one skill that does heal is You're The Enemy Now, but the healing, which comes only when specific targets the skill marks are defeated, is not the fastest. She can crank up the healing with her Idol Dream special though, which is very solid. Recommended item build: Full Meal, Idol Costume, Uber Sheep, Nurse's Horn, Membership, Researcher's Coat.

37. Airani Iofifteen (D Tier 59/100)
Iofi is a character who generally feels a bit unfocused to the point that it can be hard to know how to build her. This is largely due to her Polyglot skill which makes enemies sometimes drop language orbs that when collected trigger a burst of damage and buff a specific stat based on the language they represent. So if you make a point to collect lots of orbs to trigger the bursts, Iofi's stats will constantly fluctuate and you may often have active boosts to stats that don't serve your build. Polyglot also offers no defense or HP boosts, yet the Erofi skill, which heals Iofi based on how many enemies are within a very short radius of her, encourages her to remain close to the action.
Her third skill, Alien Brainwashing, is slow but does good damage and raises her crit rate, which together with the crit bonus paint from her awakened Paint Brush makes her a decent option for a crit build. Recommended item build: Beetle, GWS Pill, Ninja Headband, Hope Soda, Membership, Study Glasses.

38. Minato Aqua (D Tier 58/100)
Though I ranked her last Aqua is still a solid character with a lot of nice skills. Her Klutz skill is the only thing in the game able to increase the number of projectiles on multi shot weapons that are not the main weapon. NEKO, her special, does good damage but does have to be aimed, and her weapon, Cleaning Broom, is pretty effective when awakened even if the attack pattern takes some getting used to. The Cleaning Maid skill is fine, raising pick up range and crit damage within her pick up range, but it decides a little too much of her build as crit damage without crit rate is useless and the bonus pick up range from the skill is nothing compared to what the Limiter offers.
Finally there's Sololive which boosts Aqua's max HP (without the skill she has the lowest HP total in the game, so this is nice) and raises either Aqua's attack or movement speed depending on if there are any enemies nearby. Since you only get the attack boost if far from enemies, this puts her into a constant game of keep away with the enemies to optimize damage. Recommended item build: Devil Hat, Focus Shades, Limiter, Uber Sheep, Sake, Hope Soda.
