Top 10 Mario Kart Tour Best Characters
One of the best features of the up and coming game, Mario Kart Tour, is the number of new Drivers being released every Tour! The game has certainly done exactly what most fans would hope for and it’s a free mobile app! It really does give gamers a positive outlook on mobile phone games.
Here are the top 10 best Drivers:
10. Dry Bowser
Dry Bowser Introduction:
This fun but also spooky-looking guy first showed up in the Super Mario series in the game, New Super Mario Bros.. Originally, this lava-loving Dry Bones version of Bowser is resistant to fireballs but not in Mario Kart Tour!
Why Dry Bowser is Awesome:
- He’s a playoff of what Bowser would look like as a Dry Bones.
- He comes with the Special Skill: Bowser’s Shell!
- He’s a High-End Driver!
Details About Dry Bowser:
- Using him greatly increases the chance of Bowser’s Shell, which is a larger shell that when thrown causes opponents ahead of you to crash!
- Driving with him in Dino Dino Jungle, Dino Dino Jungle T, Bowser’s Castle 1R, Shy Guy Bazaar R, and Neo Bowser City T gives you three items and increases your chances of getting a Frenzy!
- Driving with him in Daisy Hills T, Bowser’s Castle 1, Rock Rock Mountain, Rock Rock Mountain T, Kalimari Desert T, Neo Bowser City, and Neo Bowser City R gives you two items.
9. Peachette
Peachette Introduction:
This adorable Driver first appeared in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe as a special form of Toadette after she obtained the Super Crown!
Why Peachette is Awesome:
- She wears the fan-coveted Super Crown. Hopefully, that means more Characters from the series can wear the crown and drive in the tour!
- She comes with the Special Skill: Mushroom Cannon!
- She’s a High-End Driver!

- Using her greatly increases the chance of Mushroom Cannon, which is a cannon that launches mushrooms ahead of you to help boost you to first place!
- Driving with her in Waluigi Pinball T, Mario Circuit, Dino Dino Jungle R, Toad Circuit, and Toad Circuit T gives you three items and increases your chances of getting a Frenzy!
- Driving with her in Mario Circuit 3, Luigi’s Mansion, Mario Circuit R, Rainbow Road R, Daisy Hills, Yoshi Circuit, Yoshi Circuit T, Mario Circuit 1, Mario Circuit 1, and Mario Circuit 1R gives you two items.
8. Lakitu
Lakitu Introduction:
This cute Koopa first appeared in the original Super Mario Bros.. His counterpart with the green shell appeared in most Mario Kart games waving the flag to signal the start of the race!
Why Lakitu is Awesome:
- He wears big, round goggles and drives around on a cloud that has a big smiley face!
- He comes with the Special Skill: Triple Green Shells!
- He’s a special type of Koopa that rides clouds and can be seen in most games.

- Using him greatly increases the chance of Triple Green Shells, which throws three green shells all at once!
- Driving with him in Paris Promenade T, Mario Circuit 3T, Waluigi Pinball T, Ghost Valley 1T, Toad Circuit T, and Mario Circuit 2T gives you three items and increases your chances of getting a Frenzy!
- Driving with him in Cheep Cheep Lagoon, Dino Dino Jungle R, Rock Rock Mountain R, Mario Circuit 2, New York Minute R/T, Tokyo Blur, and Tokyo Blur T gives you two items.
7. Rosalina (Halloween)
Rosalina (Halloween) Introduction:
This witchy-version of Rosalina was made available in Mario Kart Tour where she first appeared. Her character design is wonderful; look at the spooky pumpkin attached to her hat!
Why Rosalina (Halloween) is Awesome:
- She was first introduced in the series in this game.
- She comes with the Special Skill: Dash Ring!
- She’s a High-End Driver!

6. King Boo (Luigi’s Mansion)
King Boo (Luigi’s Mansion) Introduction:
This purple, “possessed” (pun intended) version of King Boo was first introduced in Luigi’s Mansion 3. This is the first time he appears with this design out of the Luigi’s Mansion series.
Why is King Boo (Luigi’s Mansion) Awesome:
- He’s got a fantastic looking crown. Look at that huge purple jewel!
- He comes with Special Skill: Bob-omb Cannon!
- He’s a High-End Driver!

- Using him greatly increases the chance of Bob-omb Cannon, which launches bob-ombs ahead of you so that you can head to first place as your opponents crash!
- Driving with him in Bowser’s Castle 1, Shy Guy Bazaar T, Luigi’s Mansion T, Rock Rock Mountain T, Ghost Valley 1, and Ghost Valley 1R gives you three items and increases your chances of getting a Frenzy!
- Driving with him in Rock Rock Mountain R, Yoshi Circuit, Yoshi Circuit T, Luigi’s Mansion R, and Ghost Valley 1T gives you two items.

Metal Mario Introduction:
This rival of Mario appeared first in the first Super Smash Bros. as a Boss. He’s usually depicted as the opposite of Mario and really is fierce competition in this game!
Why Metal Mario is Awesome:
- He’s sleek, shiny, and quite debonair.
- He comes with the Special Skill: Fire Flower!
- He’s a High-End Driver!

- Using him greatly increases the chance of Fire Flower, which throws three fireballs in front of you causing your opponents to spin out!

Peach Vacation Introduction:
This couture-version of Peach was originally seen in Super Mario Odyssey. Peach is also seen in many other outfits in that game; hopefully, some more of them will be seen in Mario Kart Tour!

- She looks great and she’s a well-built Driver. What more could a player be looking for!
- She comes with the Special Skill: Coin Box!
- She’s a High-End Driver!

- Using her greatly increases the chance of Coin Box, which spits out coins in front of you helping you increase your score!
- Driving with her in Mario Circuit 1R, Mario Circuit 3, Paris Promenade, Paris Promenade R/T, Toad Circuit R, Koopa Troopa Beach, and Koopa Troopa Beach T gives you three items and increases your chances of getting a Frenzy!
- Driving with her in Mario Circuit 1, Cheep Cheep Lagoon R, and Mario Circuit 3R gives you two items.
3. Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong Introduction:
This big, muscly monkey first appeared in the classic Donkey Kong arcade game. He’s originally known for being a rival of Mario’s because he steals his original girlfriend, Pauline.
Why Donkey Kong is Awesome:
- Fun Fact: He’s the second in the family! His grandfather, the original, is now called Cranky Kong.
- He comes with the Special Skill: Giant Banana!
- He’s a perfect choice for any serious gamers because he’s built with the best stats!

Pauline Introduction:
This classic damsel-in-distress has become a popular independent, strong female in the Super Mario Odyssey game where she appears as the Mayor of New Donk City. There’s no wonder she’s a fan favorite!
Why Pauline is Awesome:
- She’s evolved wonderfully from her first role as Mario’s original girlfriend in the Donkey Kong arcade game.
- She comes with the Special Skill: Lucky Seven!
- She’s a High-End Driver!

Mario (Hakama) Introduction:
This excellent character originally appeared in the Japanese Club Nintendo Calendar in 2015! He’s got my vote for the best Driver based on his stats and his Special Skill; he’s definitely likely to help players get higher scores.

- He’s got one of the preferred Special Skills and he’s likely to get a Frenzy in most courses!
- He comes with the Special Skill: Coin Box!
- He’s a High-End Driver!
