Honestly, when you think of a horror movie, you aren't going to expect much from Minecraft. But, this little kicker turned out pretty well. It really draws you in with key plot points in the story. The film is quite the psychological thriller.

Besides the story, there is the spooky ambiance. The music, the rain fall, the lighting, all of it really just sets the pace for a quirky little horror piece. Although the absence of voice acting is a bother, almost everything else makes up for that minor inconvenience.

14. The Killer by Pretty Animations

The Killer - Movie - Minecraft Animation

This incredibly quirky Minecraft horror movie is an insanely obvious slasher film. It's a story of friends who spend the entire short film running through the dangerous forest and away from the ominous killer.

Strolling through a creepy forest, a couple of goofball friends end up lost. The forest is rumored to cause disappearances after nightfall; and now, unfortunately, the friends are stuck there til daybreak.

Haunting voices and disturbing giggles fill the forest once the sun goes down. They are left in the dark to face the killer and a terrifying clown. What happens next comes as quite a shock. But you'll have to watch it for yourself to find out.

Watching this is shockingly entertaining and mesmerizing. The voice acting is surprisingly good, though it's pretty hilarious. The whole video, for that matter, is entertaining and funny. It really does remind you of an 80s slasher film with a sarcastic killer and goofy details. The end gets a bit trippy, but all in all it’s a pretty fun horror movie.

12. Slender by TSDCurse

Minecraft horror movie: Slender

Planting roots in a sleepy little town is an exhausting start to this protagonist's adventure. His boss sends him on a mining adventure after promising to pay him when he returns. What could possibly go wrong?

After some time down below in the depths of the cave, he begins to get concerned for his safety. Fear begins to overwhelm him, and he becomes unnerved after a while.

He ultimately makes his way out of the cave, carrying his loot in what seems to be an effort to get back home. Along the way, he meets a man who is oddly keen on getting the main character to come to his home. When they arrive, it's obvious something's not quite right.

Haunting sounds fill the entire movie, leaving you paralyzed—and mesmerized—by fear. Jump-scares are inevitable, especially given that most of the film is set in an eerie darkness. It's quite a spooky little masterpiece.

This movie is astonishing! There are not many other words to describe it. The editing is amazing, and the voice acting is completely incredible. The amount of time and effort put into this creation paid off. It's an underrated success, especially entertaining.

8. Paranormal by StevesCinema

Paranormal - A minecraft horror short

This thrilling short Minecraft horror film is shot from a resident's point of view as he addresses his followers. After finishing construction on his new house and giving his followers a tour, he heads to bed.

However, he's shocked to find his furniture destroyed the next morning. Since his house is new, he assumes there had to be a break-in of some sort and a security camera in the living room to catch the intruder.

What he captures is shocking. He decides to explore and try to figure out what is doing this to his beautiful new home. However, nothing can prepare him for what he discovers.

Watching this short movie reminds you a great deal of the Paranormal Activity series. It's "filmed" in the same way and quite creative. There are a few intense moments and a couple of jump-scares to be prepared for. But it's incredibly entertaining— not what you'd expect from Minecraft at all.

7. Camping by EP Films

CAMPING (Minecraft Horror Film)

A town plagued by mysterious disappearances. A group of teenage friends on a camping trip. A blood-curdling scream through the darkness. What could possibly go wrong?

Hardcore darkness overtakes the movie entirely. It's no wonder why the boys are scared to find out who was screaming. Stumbling through the woods, they have no idea what's happening around them.

Suddenly, two of them are found hung up in a tree. Who–or what–could have done that? The lone survivor must now attempt to survive. Will we ever find out what happens next?

The ending leaves a great many questions, but the details are spectacular. A jump-scare here and there makes it even more entertaining. Eerily, haunting sounds come in at just the right times.

After some investigation, he learns that the facility has been scheduled for maintenance on and off for years. He is not the only engineer to have been sent to fix the generator. But, from what the footage shows, no other engineer has ever left the facility. What’s happening to them?

The quality of this film is beyond anything expected of a Minecraft horror movie. The voice acting is especially good, and the visuals are exceptional. Not to mention the shocking ending that will make you want to watch more of this creator.

Fear ensues, and he begins to wonder if he's gone crazy. He makes his way to the front of the train, only to find that the engineer is missing, too. Terrifying things begin to happen, and he quickly understands he's in great danger.

This Minecraft horror movie is incredibly edited and animated. The voice acting is entertaining, and the music is especially eerie. You can tell that a lot of time went into the creation of this film. Check it out!

4. Doppelgänger by EP Films

doppelgänger (Minecraft Short Horror Film)

This is an extremely short Minecraft horror movie banger. Imagine being alone: living alone, eating alone,  and sleeping alone. You're accustomed to it and have been for a while.

That's Tim's life. The issue is that he is not as alone as he believes. Walking down the stairs to the basement is never the right choice, especially when the power goes out. Someone is in the house, and it sounds exactly like him. But it can't possibly be him, can it?

This short animation is especially spooky and not what you'd expect from Minecraft. The cool details from the TV to the phone almost make it something more than a Minecraft film. It's creepy and causes jump-scares; it has all the right details to make for a great horror movie.

3. Thurstan’s Curse by MindCraftid

Thurstan's Curse - Minecraft Horror Movie

Two guys are on a fishing trip, enjoying the world around them. Of course, telling horror stories is a part of sitting around a campfire with your buddies. So, that's just what they do.

The narrative centers on two brothers, one of whom is legitimately the son of a royal while the other is not (Thurstan). The prince and his genuine son lived a wealthy life, while Thurstan became a thief and a beggar to survive.

For years, Thurstan tried to see his father, but the selfish prince and his son wouldn't have it. Then, when the prince passed, Thurstan tried one last time to see his father's grave.

Sadly, he had walked into his own grave. Surrounded by his greedy, selfish brother and his knights, Thurstan faced his own demise. However, before he took his last breath, Thurstan uttered a curse upon the kingdom. The legend says that Thurstans ghost is still roaming the area they are camping in.

The next day, a storm sends them on a hunt for a better shelter. But they are unfortunate enough to come across a cave that seems to lead to Thurstan's grave. Will they escape the grave with their lives?

The visuals are extremely well-made and the editing is incredible. To build tension, just the right amount of ominous lighting. There are even a couple of well-placed jump-scares that make this little horror movie quite the banger.

2. Sundown by The1ToFear

SUNDOWN (Minecraft Horror Movie)

Four men embark on what appears to be a scientific expedition. The city of Pripyat is on the list to be explored. However, not everything is what it seems.

After meeting in the airport, the group heads to their destination—what they call an “irradiated ghost town.” They split into pairs and began their studies.

It doesn't take long to realize the place is incredibly creepy. Unfortunately, one of the men goes missing shortly into the excursion. As if that's not bad enough, unusual things begin happening after sundown.

The movie is edited to be filmed from the point of view of the characters, like actual footage of what's happening to them. The camera shakes when they move and run. You can hear the wind blowing and see the grass moving. Even the voice acting is spectacular. The amount of effort put into this short film is truly remarkable.
