So when it comes down to “GOAT” status on 2k I think there's only one fair way to determine it.. WE gotta break down the top 15 players into TIER LISTS!!

S-Tier: 95 overall & above

S tier players are the pinnacle of a player, the best of the best the most skilled out of all the players. Whether it comes down to mindset, pure skill, determination, or all three these players are some of the most hard to defend, and the most hard to knock off their A game. These players' IQ's stand out above the rest of the league, and it’s very evident in their real life game and their virtual one.

Players like:

“Giannis Antetokounmpo” - 97 overall

“Jayson Tatum” - 95 overall

A-Tier: 90-95 overall

Now “A-tier” players are the next in line, the second best of the best. All of these guys are quick agile scoring machines, leave them open anywhere on the court and I promise you will regret it. Between their vision on the court and their star playmaking abilities these guys can hurt you however they please, both on the real court and the virtual court. Players like:

“Stephen Curry” - 95 overall

“Jalen Brunson” - 94 overall

B-Tier: 85-90 overall

Now Players like this bunch, they’re shifty, extremely agile, and hard to guard but by no means unguardable. Players like:

"Damian Lillard” - 90 overall

C-Tier: 80-85 overall

I’ll be honest here. I don't really think any players are in contention for “GOAT” status, but hey.. That’s just how I feel. Players like:

“James Harden” - 85 overall

“Austin Reeves” - 82 Overall

Now, out of all 15 guys, I think it's safe to say there are only about 3 real players in contention for goat here.

So let’s find out who they are!

(S-Tier): “LeBron James”

Lebron is easily one of the most challenging players to play against in 2k, He’s quick, skilled, big, and strong. Not only that but with the right person on the sticks Bron can either be a really lethal shooter or a pain in the behind in the paint, PLUS defensively he is a menace to society.

What makes Bron S-tier?

  • 99 mental toughness.

He has MAX mental toughness in a video game, I mean you can’t even shake the guy virtually, he's THAT good.

  • 98 driving layup AND 98 hands.

So not only is there nothing you can do to stop him in the lane, but you probably won’t get past him either because he’ll take the ball in .345 seconds. It’s absolutely infuriating playing against Lebron in 2k.

(S-Tier): “Stephen Curry”

Playing against Steph in 2k feels like walking on a road of burning nails barefoot, it is THAT painful. He’s agile and quick, and absolutely LIGHTS OUT from the field, and please don’t get me started on his ball handling & passing.

Just as much as he can hurt you shooting the ball he’s equally as dangerous moving it around as well. I mean It’s gotten so bad now when I play 2k and i’m playing blacktop he’s the first very person I pick because I can’t stand playing against him.

What makes Chef Curry S tier?

  • 99 Three-point shot

If his speed and agility in game wasn’t enough, add on a 99 three point shot to the mix. You can NOT and I mean absolutely not leave him wide on the perimeter, because if you do I guarantee just like in real life he will make it.

  • 97 ball handling & 97 Pass IQ

Alongside not leaving him open, guarding him is going to be one HEFTY task. With a 97 ball handling his ability to break down his defenders one by one and THEN use his 97 PASS IQ to dish it to one of his open teammates is a recipe for consistent wins.

(S-Tier): “Giannis Antetokounmpo”

And finally the last potential goat of 2K the “GREEK FREAK”! Now personally I hate playing against Giannis in 2k. I mean his sheer size and athleticism makes for one hell of an opponent, defensively AND offensively, he’s long and way quicker than you would think both on the real court and the virtual one.

Not only can you just not stop him in the paint, but you can’t challenge him on the perimeter either because you might just get a three rained on you.

But what makes Giannis S tier?

  • 95 Pass IQ

Giannis is 6 feet 11 inches, 243 pounds, and has a 7’3 wingspan with a 95 Pass IQ??? A guy that tall being able to spread the floor like a guard is super dangerous.

Think about a dinosaur running full speed at you and then before you know it the dino has thrown a basketball ball over your head to a player in the corner you didn’t even see was there, terrifying.

  • 98 offensive consistency

I know being consistent is true to Giannis’s in real-life playing style, but 98???? I think that might just be the highest offensive consistency I’ve seen in the game.

His ability to fully accelerate and get to the basket with ease is evident both on the real court and the virtual one. Giannis’s sheer strength allows for him to kinda do whatever he wants in 2k, and there's really nothing you can do about it.

Finally, after looking at my tier list I honestly feel that Giannis might just be the strongest contender for the “Goat” title in 2k.

I mean he’s a force to be reckoned with both IRL and in the game. And listen don’t get me wrong Bron’s still a close second because of his all-around play in the game.

And if I’m being honest I think Chef Curry might be the weakest “GOAT” in the game, and I love Steph but gotta be honest!
