Broken Roads Turns Philosophy Into Fun With a Wild Post-Apocalyptic RPG
All roads lead home... unless they're broken!

Although some intellectually inclined individuals may consider philosophy to be fun, or entertaining, most people will not turn to philosophy to enjoy their free time. ‘Broken Roads’ takes an entertaining RPG and applies philosophy to it to add a twist of fun to the subject.

‘Broken Roads’ is set in a post-apocalyptic Australia, that has become a desolate wasteland in the wake of a global catastrophe. The game is narrative-driven, with the focus being on the story and providing players with an engaging and immersive story.

Unlike many traditional RPG games, ‘Broken Roads’ does not make use of a class system for different characters, allowing players to pick the character of their choice and develop their skills freely to create a character that matches their playstyle perfectly and has a wide range of different abilities.

The game focuses on characters’, or players’ philosophical beliefs, with these beliefs influencing the choices they are able to make, and the dialogue options they are given. These beliefs also influence their moral ‘compass’, which is a key element of the game.

Players can play together in groups of up to five players, taking on a series of unique quests in a variety of “authentic locations” in Australia, according to developers. The game utilizes a tactical turn-based combat system whenever it becomes necessary to sling a little bit of lead.

‘Broken Roads’ is developed by ‘Drop Bear Bytes’ and is on Steam.
