‘The Chronicles of Myrtana: Archolos’, is a community mod for ‘Gothic II: Gold Edition’ and it is proving to be highly popular among players in the Steam community.
‘The Chronicles of Myrtana: Archolos’ is an RPG set in a brand new open world with “improved skills systems, gameplay mechanics and complex story.” The story takes on the island Archolos, which is some distance east of the Myrtana mainland.
The City of Archolos presents players with a multitude of opportunities. For those of a bold, adventurous nature there are deep, dark mines to explore and carefully guarded secrets to uncover.
For those who prefer a more entertaining, safe lifestyle, the city is full of taverns and places where players can sit back and have a little fun. Or if they’re feeling particularly religious, there is even a monastery that players can visit.
Players play as the main protagonist, Marvin, but unlike the traditional approach, players are not a hero, nor are they a villain. Players get to make their own choices. Violence, greed, and brute force? Or kindness, generosity, and helpfulness?
The cruel world of a war-torn country with more violence and bloodshed on the horizon does not make for an easy life or easy choices, but it does grant opportunity. Opportunity to profit, and opportunity to do good.
What and who you become, is up to you.
