Beavers are considered some of the most organized, or ‘civilized’ animals in the animal world. They put a great deal of thought and effort into building their homes, and have proven themselves to be excellent dam-building engineers.

‘Timberborn’ takes beaver engineering genius to another level, with beavers building entire ‘cities’ with farms, roads, bridges, the works. In ‘Timberborn’ humanity has gone extinct after abusing and overusing the planet. Beavers adapted and have rebuilt their civilizations with 2 major factions, the Folktails, and Iron Teeth.

Iron Teeth are the industry moguls, building factories and machines, while the Folktails are more inclined to be friendly country beavers. Players can choose to play as either faction, building up their beaver civilization with advanced wooden machinery.

Beavers’ experience in working with water allows them to turn dry, dead wasteland into arable farmland, generate power, grow food, and stockpile supplies during the wet season to get them through the dry seasons.

The game features “vertical architecture,” with limited space requiring players to engineer their cities in vertical stacks of workshops, housing, recreational space, storage, and factories. 

The game features an open world that can be explored for resources such as metal and requires planning and strategy, and engineering genius if players wish for their beavers to survive each dry season.

‘Timberborn’ has proved to be highly popular, with over 9k positive reviews by players on Steam since the game’s release in September 2021. ‘Timberborn’ is developed by ‘Mechanistry’ and is available for download on Steam.
