Everybody likes a good underdog story, and hearing about orphans that overcome the odds thrown at them from a young age and achieve major success is something particularly heartwarming and inspiring.
The two heroes of ‘Young Souls’ are two orphaned sisters that go by the names of ‘Jenn’ and ‘Tristan’ respectively.
While normal kids usually get adopted by fairly normal parents, Jenn and Tristan were in for something entirely different. Their guardian turned out to be a “mysterious scientist” who had a habit of dabbling in things that are better left untouched…
One day, he simply vanished, leaving Jenn and Tristan stumped as to what could have happened to him. While they were desperately trying to find their adopted dad, Jenn and Tristan happened on something inconceivably terrifying.
They discovered a hidden portal to an alternate dimension filled with terrifying goblins and dangerous creatures. And what we really mean by discovering is that they went through the portal into this scary dimension.
The search for their foster dad turns into a desperate fight for survival. Players must beat up and bash goblins to death as they explore the world of the goblins in their search. As they progress they must make decisions that will hopefully bring them closer to their father and safety.
Players can build up their characters and obtain new weapons and abilities as they progress, allowing them to take on increasingly terrifying beasts. Jenn and Tristan can move from world to world, going into the goblin world for missions to find their father, and back to the human world for rest, food, and chill time.
‘Young Souls’ paints an epic narrative across dimensions as players write their stories with the decisions that they make.
‘Young Souls’ is developed by ‘1P2P’ and was released on Steam in March 2022.
