Class can feel like a never ending cycle of worksheets and science projects. But in anime, school festivals and romance have never been as exciting. These shows provide a light hearted look into the lives of students trying to pass exams and attend afternoon clubs. These characters make you laugh while also establishing a genuine connection to the audience. As time goes on, I find myself watching these anime again and again. I discover new aspects where I can relate and enjoy each episode like reliving some good old memories.
10. D-Frag!

When a struggling video game creation club needs one more member to maintain their club status, they find an unwilling member in Kazama. The club forces Kazama to stay with them through threats of waterboarding and tasers. As a delinquent who couldn't care less about video game creation, Kazama has a hard time understanding the absolutely absurd activities that take place in this afternoon club.
As the anime progresses, new club member Kazama finds himself between the crossfire of the club and its enemies.
9.Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu

This bizarre school gives every student their own summoned being that is used to battle other students, with strength stats based on grades. The worst performing class fights higher level students in order to upgrade their class’ facility. Watch as this cast of lovable misfits handle their battles in unique and hilarious ways.
Depicted here is a battle that helps determine which class gets what kind of classroom. On the right is an example of the summoned being. If a summoned being’s health points reach zero the student will need to take a remedial class with a furious teacher.
8. Hyouka

At the request of his older sister, Hotaro joins the Classic Literature Club to prevent it from being dismantled. Although he would like to exert as little effort as possible, he is compelled by his clubmates to solve mysteries that occur at the high school. As the series progresses they get closer and closer to figuring out why their club founder was expelled from their school.
Although the whole club has a role in persuading Oreki to overcome his laziness and solve mysteries. Chitanda and her unrelenting curiosity convinces Oreki every time.
7. Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun

After failing to confess her love, Sakura learns that her crush, Nozaki, writes a popular romance manga. Sakura begins working with Nozaki, learning the behind the scenes of writing and drawing manga. The show expands its view beyond these two, it looks at their friends to provide more comedic moments and instances of romance.
No supporting character in this anime shares the same hair color with another. This makes them easily recognizable and distinct.
6. Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu

Fed up with the mundanity of high school life, Haruhi creates the SOS brigade, a club dedicated to finding aliens, time travelers, and espers. Little does she know they’re right under her nose. The main character’s narration gives a humorous look into this club, with his disinterested perspective contrasting with the great enthusiasm that radiates from Haruhi Suzumiya.

As a psychic, Saiki tries to live a peaceful life but has no luck. He attracts the weirdest people in his high school and has the responsibility of saving humanity once in a while. Filled with great laughs, this show becomes the instant choice when you haven’t much time to spare.
Although Saiki has the power to read the mind of others, one character, Nendo, lacks any intelligence. In Nendo’s mind there’s nothing to read. This makes Saiki fearful of what unpredictable move Nendo will make to ruin his peaceful life.

Adolescence Syndrome takes a teenager’s insecurities and turns them into various paranormal conditions. Sakuta runs into these girls suffering from the syndrome and decides to help them. The show mixes paranormal activity with deep dives into the mental hurdles held by teenagers.
The first example of adolescence syndrome presents a girl who becomes invisible to the regular person. That girl decides to wear a bunny suit to see if she can get attention from anyone.
3.Toradora

Ryuji and Taiga bicker back and forth but have a shared goal of setting up each other with their friends. Continuous attempts of getting to know their crushes builds a strong relationship within their friend group. Unknown to each other are the masks they all wear to hide their true feelings.
Although they do not have feelings for each other, the two main characters’ instant chemistry makes others believe they like each other.
2.Ouran Highschool Host Club

After breaking a vase worth 8 million yen, Haruhi makes a deal to work at the host club to pay off her debt. As a host, Haruhi has to adjust to high society by drinking tea, making conversation, and generally entertaining the wealthy female guests. The club continues to host extravagant events but now must keep the secret that their new host is a girl.
Haruhi’s short hair and lack of feminine traits make her a fine candidate to entertain women. Although a past middle school portrait shows that she clearly is a girl, this truth will decrease the amount of girls who go pay for Haruhi’s services.

There must be a loser in a relationship, by confessing their love first the loser resigns all power to the other. Kaguya and Shirogane of the student council fight mind games to force the other to confess their love. With an announcer that drives home the stakes of every minute encounter, watch this war unfold over many hilarious battles.
The viewer gets a clear look into each of the romantic leads’ thinking. Not only does it show their strategies to make the other confess but also exposes the insecurities they wish to hide.
