Top 10 Best Runescape Foods

Best Runescape Foods
Wanderers of Gielinor huddle around a Burthorpe campfire to recover their strength.

Want to pay fewer visits to Death's office? Pack one of these ten foods on your next adventure to avoid the man with the scythe.

In Runescape, battle-worn travelers regain their strength by eating foods. From the humble shrimps of Lumbridge to the delectable kebabs of Al-Kharid, Gielinor’s cuisine heals any ailment. But not all foods heal as efficiently. Need the best food for a budget? The most life points per serving? This list will help you pack for your next adventure like a pro.

10. Shark

The sea's mightiest hunter heals excellently.

Sharks rise to the top of the food chain in popularity in Gielinor. Use them if you want to balance low cost and effective healing.

Stats and Perks:

Heals 2,000 life points at 80 Constitution

GE Price: ~941 coins

Make-It-Yourself: 76 Fishing to catch, 80 Cooking to prepare

9. Swordfish

You may want to cut the nose off this fishy before serving.

If you’re free-to-play or a lower level, swordfish are the fish for you. These protein-dense purple fish pack 1,400 life points per serving—if you don’t choke on their weapon-noses.

Stats and Perks:
Heals 1,400 life points at 56 Constitution
GE Price: ~204 coins

Make-It-Yourself: 50 Fishing to catch, 45 Cooking to prepare

8. Lobster

For a truly scrumptious meal, serve this crustacean with cheesy garlic biscuits.

These crustaceans may not look like much, but they’re the second-best fish available in free-to-play. The best part? You can easily obtain lobsters, making them Ironman-friendly.

Stats and Perks:
Heals 1,200 life points at 48 Constitution
GE Price: ~135 coins

Make-It-Yourself: 40 Fishing to catch, 40 Cooking to prepare

7. Blue Blubber Jellyfish

"I will name you squishy."--Dory

These jellies carry so much blubber that eating one requires 3 bites. You can find them at the Deep Sea Fishing Hub. Want something cheaper? The Blue Blubber’s younger brother, the Green Blubber Jellyfish, heals less but costs less, too.

Stats and Perks:
Heals 2250 life points in 3 servings at 30 Constitution
No adrenaline drop when eaten
GE Price: ~1,768 coins

Make-It-Yourself: 91 Fishing to catch, 95 Cooking to prepare

6. Cavefish

These fishies love dark, damp places.

Born with green scales, Cavefish turn pink when cooked. Each fish also boosts one of your combat skills: Attack, Strength, Defence, Ranged, or Magic.

Stats and Perks:
Heals 2,200 life points at 88 Constitution
GE Price: ~1,282 coins
2-point boost to a random combat skill

Make-It-Yourself: 85 Fishing to catch, 88 Cooking to prepare

5. Rocktail

Is that a lightbulb on its forehead? Probably shouldn't eat that...

Native to the Living Rock Caverns, these scary-looking fish heal better than they taste. If you’re lucky, they’ll also boost your maximum life points by 10%.

Stats and Perks:
Heals 2,300 life points at level 92 Constitution
Possible 10% boost to life points
GE Price: ~1,973 coins

Make-It-Yourself: 90 Fishing to catch, 93 Cooking to Prepare

4. Summer Pie

Gielinor nutritionists recommend this pie to increase balance and energy.

You can eat one slice of summer pie faster than you can eat a shark (Jagex logic), making pies a fast life-point boost. Pesky shortcuts are a cinch thanks to the pie’s agility boost.

Stats and Perks:
Heals 2,374 life points in 2 servings at 95 Constitution
Temporary 5-level agility boost
Restores 40% run energy
GE Price: ~744 coins

Make-It-Yourself: 95 Cooking to prepare. Combine a pie dish, pastry dough, a strawberry, a watermelon, and a cooking apple, then cook on a range.

3. Saradomin Brew

Hopefully this concoction tastes like lemonade...

A potion to please the gods—well, at least Saradomin. Each dose of this potion increases your maximum life points by 1,000. Your Defence stat also boosts. One caution, though: bring some restore potions along too, because it also drains your Magic, Ranged, Strength, and Attack statistics.

Stats and Perks:
Boosts life points 1,000 points beyond maximum
Defence Stat boost of 1-4 levels
No adrenaline drop when consumed
GE Price: 7,110 coins

Make-It-Yourself: 81 Herblore. Combine a vial of water with a clean toadflax and a crushed nest. You can upgrade it to a Super Saradomin brew with 93 Herblore and a wine of Saradomin.

2. Fury Shark

These sharks have a temper problem.

Fury Sharks reward the patient: eat them outside of combat to restore a whopping 2,800 life points! Unfortunately, you can only get them as drops from lava strykewyrms or WildyWyrms. Die within 60 seconds of eating one, and you’ll get to keep one extra item without penalty.

Stats and Perks:
Heals 2,475 life points eaten during combat and 2,800 outside of combat at 99 Constitution
Protects one extra item on death
GE Price: Not tradeable

1. Great Gunkan

This sushi dish might not pack well in your backpack, but its healing is second to none.

Sushi lovers, rejoice! This shark meat delicacy instantly heals 1,500 life points, then heals 150 points every 1.2 seconds for a total of 2,850 points of healing. Pro tip: you can’t eat another gunkan until the first one’s effects wear off, so bring some rocktails along for emergency healing.

Stats and Perks:

Instantly heals 1,500 life points, then increments of 150 every 1.2 seconds

GE Price: 2,045

Make-It-Yourself: with 91 Cooking, combine raw great white shark and kelp. You also need the sushi perk from the Aquarium in your player-owned house.
