What Are The Best Mods for Skyrim Requiem?
Introduction to Requiem - The Roleplaying OverhaulDo you love Skyrim, but have played it so much that you don’t know what to do anymore? Or, did you try it but didn’t like it because it was too easy?
There is a solution for all that!
The mod Requiem offers a complete roleplaying overhaul to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim that adds more challenge and realism to the game. It incorporates RPG elements that were not present in the vanilla version such as an unleveled world that strengthens character progression, truly rewarding quests and exploration, and a new perks system.
Even if you die a lot more than in vanilla Skyrim, the whole experience is much more rewarding.
Also, Requiem is compatible with other mods, although some of them will require a patch or a ‘Reqtified’ version of the mod. If you are new to Requiem, I recommend you try it first without mods and then add whatever you want.
And, as always, follow the installation instructions and pay special attention to any needed patches. All the listed mods can be found on Nexus Mods and can also be used with vanilla Skyrim. It is always recommended to back up your saved files before installing new mods.
If you want to give Skyrim new life, or if you’ve already done this overhaul but you want to enhance your experience, here are the 15 best mods to use with Skyrim’s Requiem.
15. Alternate Start - Live Another Life
Alternate Start - Live Another Life Mod Showcase
Alternate Start - Live Another Life by Arthmoor gives you the chance of a different start. You can start as a Skyrim homeowner, a soldier, or inn patron,or even choose the original Helgen start. If you’re tired of playing as the Dragonborn, being the savior of the world and the center of attention, you’ll be glad to know that you can also decide if you want to be Dragonborn or not.
The mod gives you much more freedom in shaping your character and increases immersion by giving your character a backstory. But, most of all, it shuffles a new life into the game.
You can add this mod to Requiem to add even more freshness to Skyrim.

14. Frostfall - Hypothermia Camping Survival
Introduction to Frostfall - Hypothermia Camping Survival
Frostfall - Hypothermia Camping Survival by Chesko adds a realistic survival challenge to Skyrim. It makes the environment as brutal and dangerous as it should be.
With several levels of harshness, you’ll be forced to prepare yourself before adventuring in the cold, and to keep yourself warm. Among many other cool features (pun intended), Frostfall includes immersive camping and crafting systems, and a new endurance skill.
Follow the requirements and the instructions before installing. You’ll need the Campfire mod, SKSE (Skyrim Script Extender), and SkyUI (we all need SkyUI in our lives anyway).
Frostfall adds a new layer of realism to Skyrim: temperature.
13. Wet and Cold
Introduction to Wet and Cold
Wet and Cold by isoku is the perfect companion to Frostfall - Hypothermia Camping Survival, although you can also use it on its own to add realism to Skyrim’s environment.
The mod adds water and snow effects to the characters, as well as awesome hoods, cloaks, and gloves to keep your Dragonborn warm. You’ll also find new backpacks that will allow you to carry more weight in an immersive way.
Wet and Cold will make you want to roll under a cozy blanket when you play in winter.

While playing with Requiem you’re going to be knocked out so frequently that this mod will become essential.

11. Immersive fast travel mods
If you’ve turned off fast travel in Requiem but you still want to be able to fast travel when you’re in a rush, these are two very lore-friendly mods that will help you with that.
Better Fast Travel - Carriages and Ships - Overhauled by dj20 adds carriages that were missing in smaller settlements (such as Ivarstead) as well as ferry boats and ships. With this mod you’ll need to pay a fee to be able to travel, but you’ll also be allowed to travel to undiscovered locations. It’s the most immersive way of fast travelling around Skyrim.

Another useful mod is Road Signs Fast Travel by Kesta, which adds immersive fast travel points to road signs like those seen in The Witcher. They will allow you to travel to the towns and cities written on the signs, but only after you’ve discovered them, just like in the vanilla fast travel feature.
You can combine it with Better Fast Travel - Carriages and Ships - Overhauled or use it on its own.
You can disable the original map fast travel so that you can only use carriages and signs to fast travel.

“I used to be sneaky like you, then I had a guard breathing down my neck.”
8. Dynamic Things
Dynamic Things - Woodpiles and Barrels and More Oh My by dominoid makes static objects found throughout Skyrim more useful.
With this mod, you’ll be able to search items such as woodpiles and hay bales for firewood and hay. You’ll also be able to drink or bottle mead, water, skooma, or blood from the smaller mead barrels, and to mine stone from static rocks or chop firewood from trees and tree trunks.

Bid farewell to all those impractical barrels and crates that you were not able to search.
7. Thieves Guild Requirements
As an honorable Dragonborn, isn’t it annoying how Brynjolf is always pestering you to join the Thieves Guild and accusing you of being a thief even if you’ve never stolen anything?

Now you’ll be able to talk with an NPC at night to complete a quest, or just go inside and stay at your friends’ place until morning, avoiding having to rent a room at the inn.
