YouTube has been the hub for games since 2012. It’s almost like a quest map for the market. Game reviewers are an important part of gaming culture, giving buyers an idea of what they’re looking for. Anyone can upload an opinion on YouTube, so it’s important for the viewer to trust who they’re watching. Here are the top 10 game reviewers, 2020 edition.

(Ps4) - Review“Max Shockley is a reviewer that started with short gaming reviews while recording gameplay in the background. He quickly began creating Let’s Plays of games like Skyrim and Dragon Age. Max got his YouTube name by falling in love with the Sega Dreamcast after playing it with his friend and fell in love with it. Although most of his current content matches popular demand, he still peppers in an occasional older piece.
The great thing about Max is that he is a smaller channel, and since he has a smaller channel, he interacts with his fans more. With his update videos, he is always honest and upfront about what’s going on.

Although his channel doesn’t have a lot of fancy editing or high-quality shots, he excels in his “creating No BS Game Reviews” on YouTube. He has been with Ignite LLC for over 9 years and works as Co-CEO of the company.
Because of his background, he is able to go over the technology from an IT perspective, and give honest critiques about it. He also has a relatable rating “Buy, Wait for a Sale, Rent, Never Talk About It Again,” making it easy for us to decide Many of his videos have gameplay in the background, giving you a visual of the game as he discusses the different aspects of it.

8.Suzi (The Sphere Hunter)In-depth review of “Death Stranding Spoiler Free Review” by Suzi
Suzi started her YouTube Channel in 2016 and rapidly grew into 2020. In only 4 years, she’s reached over 200k subscribers l. However, YouTube isn’t her only passion. On her Twitter account, she’s known for her work in cosplay, specifically in games like Resident Evil.
Suzi’s reviews specialize in RPGs, Horror games, and “good ol’ hack ‘n slash” games. Her reviews go in-depth with the development part of the games, and even reviews the history between companies. Suzi’s reviews are so detailed, some of the videos can last up to an hour.

7.Skill UpA short and accurately funny review in “Journey To The Savage Planet - Review By Skill Up”
Skill Up is an Australian YouTuber that provides honest reviews for games. He takes time to conduct interviews with some of the creators while completing full research. He tends to take an objective view of games and provides real facts as to why the product is good. He tends to appeal to the older gamer crowd since he takes on a more serious tone.
Not much is known about Skill Up, other than that he is stationed in Sydney, New South Wales. He uses Twitter to announce new videos, tell instant reviews, and memes. Although not a lot is known about him, he has accrued over 500k subscribers and continues to grow each day.

6. Ben ‘Yahtzee’ Croshaw (the Escapist)
Ben reviews some of the best games of 2015 in "Top 5 Games of 2015 (Zero Punctuation)"Ben is a British reviewer famously known for the series “Zero Punctuation”. Although the YouTube channel is for the magazine “The Escapist”, Ben himself is the one who currently does Game reviews. Ben is well known for his dry sense of humor and animations about the game he’s reviewing.
Zero Punctuation is aimed towards the older crowd, as a lot of the humor would be something you hear on late-night television. Zero Punctuation episodes tend to be shorter and animates the reviewer in the episodes when reviewing the product. You won’t see any game-play, but you will see the reviewer’s thoughts on the screen through his animations.

5. Shelby (Girlfriend Reviews)
Shelby is a reviewer late to the Halo franchise in “Halo | Girlfriend Reviews”Shelby is an American game reviewer that watches her boyfriend play the game. She always tries to cover the most important parts of the game and anything that relates to the quality. Her reviews usually are between 5 to 10-minute videos. She has 750k subscribers and has over 1000 Patreon backers.
Shelby started her YouTube channel only a year ago and already has over half a million subscribers. She only posts reviews, and it appears that her channel is still growing. Although she loves the games herself, watching someone else play allows her to sit back and notice more subtle details of the game.

4. Jirard Khalil (The Completionist)
Jirard excitedly talks about each nook and cranny of a popular game in “Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Review | The Completionist”
Jirard is an American completionist style gamer and reviews the games he completes on his YouTube channel. He talks about the game itself, how hard the achievements are, and even the aspects of camera angles in the game. His reviews are about 20 minutes long and cover the most important aspects of the game. He usually has a lot of enthusiasm, covering everything he can.
Jirard isn’t just in the review scene, he also has a second channel with Alex Faciane called “Super Beard Bros.” where the two make Let’s Plays on the channel. Not only that, but he participates in a band called “Big Bad Bosses”

Jonathan gives a half serious review on a new game in“The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt | gAmE oF tHe dEcAdE™Jonathan is a Danish game reviewer that tends to have more of an early 2000’s humor in his videos. Jonathan is only 23 years old and already surpassed over 1 million subscribers on YouTube. He admits that his videos are dumb, but enjoys making them anyways.
Jonathan usually makes his videos to be about 10 to 30 minutes long and tends to add a lot of edit humor into his videos. As of right now, his channel has plateaued, however, he has started to post more on a schedule, and seems dedicated to his work. He has started to play retro and MMO games and returned to his regular quality roast.

2. Clint Basinger (LazyGameReviews)
Watch sims get into Murphy Beds in the video “LGR - The Sims 4 Tiny Living Stuff Review”Clint is an American YouTuber that focuses on older technology and games. He also likes to review Simulations, including The Sims from Origins. He will review any piece of older technology, including one video where he reviews the old Windows 1996 All-in-One PC.
Because he reviews older technology and games, he tends to have a lot of camcorder videos, but it is high quality and works really well with his style.
Clint doesn’t have much of an online presence outside of his YouTube channel. He is an avid video game collector and has been uploading videos to his channel for the past 10 years. He gives honest reviews and shows no signs of slowing down.

1. Jose Antonio "Joe" Vargas (AngryJoeShow)
Joe talks about the awfully received game Destiny in “Destiny Angry Review”Joe is an American game reviewer that combines a lot of different review styles into one channel. He does collaborations, short rapid reviews, and even long extensive reviews on certain games. His channel has already reached over 3 million subscriptions and has been on YouTube for over 11 years. Over this time his channel had accrued over 1 billion views and interacts with his fans over Twitter.
Joe also reviews movies and at one point was affiliated with Channel Awesome with Nostalgia Critic. Like his namesake, his character is portrayed to be angry and tends to tell his reviews with a lot of excitement. Because of this, he tends to attract younger adult audiences, taking serious aspects of the review, and turning them into a comedy skit. He sometimes posts multiple videos a day now and shows no signs of slowing down.
