If you go around bashing people’s skulls in, you must know which weapon to use. When it comes to Chivalry 2, each class will have that one badass weapon and the point of this article today is to pick 1 weapon from every class, describe its statistics(damage, range, etc.), and why you should use it.
Alright, I see no reason why I should prolong this dumbass intro, let’s get right into da weapons:
4. Archer
Best Weapon for the Archer
What it’s good at:
- You get a 25% damage bonus with headshots(class perk)
- Extremely dangerous against low HP/lightly-armored targets
- Can move while reloading the bow
2nd Best Weapon for the Archer
Why it’s good:
- Useful against armored targets
- A high amount of damage per bolt
- 1-shot headshots
3rd Best Weapon for the Archer
Why the Javelin rocks:
- High attack speed, hard to predict the movement of this weapon
- It’s also hard to block the attacks from this weapon
- Deals a lot of damage when thrown
3. Footman
The Best Weapon For the Footman
Why you should use it:
- Annoying overhead attacks, hard to counter
- High range, can be annoying to deal with if you don’t know what you’re doing
- Relatively high damage output
The Second Best Weapon for the Footman
Why this sword is dope:
- High range, useful in duels
- The range can also be useful in larger skirmishes
- The sword’s windup speed can be useful for feigning attacks
The Third Best Weapon for the Footman
From all the other subclasses, the Rapier belongs to the Man-at-Arms. It’s a pretty agile blade, with a fairly decent reach for a 1-handed sword. One thing that you might dislike about this weapon is its damage - it’s below average, although you can swing it a lot more than an average weapon, which makes up for the amount of damage this thing deals.
In my opinion, the Rapier excels in 1v1 scenarios, you slowly chip away at your enemy’s health or just make him run out of stamina and stab him to death. Avoid cramped up, massive fights and you should be good.
Why this weapon is dope:
- Unbelievably agile, can easily out-perform heavier blades
- Stab attacks are hard to read, making it very hard for your enemies to block
- Looks fancy as hell, you can now kill people with style
2. Vanguard
The Best Weapon for the Footman
Why these things rock:
- Fast and agile, borderline impossible to block
- Very high damage output when attacking from behind
- They don’t slow the wearer too much
The Second Best Weapon for the Footman
One of the most badass-looking axes in the game, the Executioners Axe, as the name implies, deals heavy amounts of chopping damage and can deal with multiple foes at once. Furthermore, despite looking like a heavy piece of metal, the swings are rather agile, which can catch your enemies off-guard.
What this axe does well:
- Heavy amounts of damage
- Light attacks are rather fast and can easily overwhelm your enemy
- Higher range than the War Axe
The Third Best Weapon for the Footman
Feel free to use it in 1v1 scenarios, although you need to manage your stamina, plus time your strikes correctly. In group fights, things are a bit less complicated - all you have to do is swing your blade horizontally and dismember/behead anything in sight!
Why the Highland Sword is awesome:
- Very high reach can put your enemy off guard
- The damage is high enough to 1-shot an archer
- Cleave damage can turn enemies into minced meat
1. Knight
The Best Weapon for the Knight
Why the Messer is awesome:
- Deals more damage than the Longsword&Greatsword
- Useful in duels thanks to its reach
- Adequate swing speed
The Second Best Weapon for the Officer
Why the Greatsword is awesome:
- Deals an above-average amount of damage
- The reach is acceptable and useful in 1v1 duels and larger skirmishes
- For a two-handed blade, the speed is OK - you should get used to it easily
The Third Best Weapon for the Officer
What the Longsword does well:
- Normal damage per hit(for all body parts)
- Acceptable agility of the blade
- Can get it pretty early into the game
