Your view of the track is important in how you perform on F1 2021, so if you are looking for the best camera settings, you have come to the right place! F1 2021 features new camera angles, and each gives you a different view of the track and the surrounding cars. The alternative nose camera is the recent addition to this year. They positioned the camera just in front of the halo, which allows you to prepare and plan your next move well in advance. This view is like what the real F1 teams use in their simulators, and it is worth looking at. Most F1 players use TV pod cameras, even e-sports players. There are two ways to set up TV pod cameras, and we’ll be discussing them in this article.
The 2010 style
This camera style is unique because of its top position and sharp angle. You can see exactly where your front wheels are, which allows you to position your car more accurately. To apply this style, go-to camera settings. Then navigate to the Tv pod offset view. Set the lateral offset at -12 to get the camera centre on the car more. Next, pull the camera back by setting the horizontal offset to -18. The air-box of the car clips through the front of the screen. To fix this, set the near clip plane to the max (20). You should also set the vertical offset at the maximum (20), this gets the car pointing down, then navigate to angle and set it to -20. If you feel the car is far away from you, try tweaking the field of view until you are satisfied. Don’t go too far away from zero, as it can distort the way you view the road. I’ve found -2 to be an optimum value. Finally, change the camera shake to zero. This would give you a smoother view, letting you focus on the road ahead.
- Camera: TV Pod Offset
- Field of View: -2
- Offset (Lateral): -12
- Offset (Horizontal): -18
- Offset (Vertical): 20
- Angle: -20
- Near Clip Plane: 20
- Mirror Angle: 0
- Camera Shake: 0
The E-sports style
This camera style is popular amongst e-sports drivers, as it gives them an even greater view at corners and allows them to travel at high speeds. It is a little lower compared to the 2010 style with a tighter field of view. Check out the settings below:
- Camera: TV Pod
- Field of View: 5
- Offset (Lateral): -0
- Offset (Horizontal): -20
- Offset (Vertical): 4
- Angle: -20
- Near Clip Plane: 20
- Mirror Angle: -20
- Camera Shake: 0
F1 2021 features an updated on-screen display, with the most obvious change being the dashboard which is in the middle of the screen. The standard position is suitable, but it would be better if you raise it a little. This lets you check it without taking your eyes off the road. To do this, navigate to the on-screen display menu, go to customisation and move the dial up a little. Place it near the halo. This way you can always have a look at it without taking your eyes off the road. These camera style settings are sure to provide you with optimum vision and a better feel of the game. So, apply them in your F1 2021!
