Top 11 Games Like GORN (Games Better Than GORN In Their Own Way)

GORN, gorn 2019, hack and slash, games like gorn, gorn gameplay
Hack, slash, and laugh though GORN gameplay. But not all that giggles, is gold!

GORN is an absurdly violent gladiator simulator with outrageous physics and obscenely bloody combat. Take up arms against waves of gladiators and smash, bash, and slash your way to victory.

With its amusingly cartoonish gameplay, you’ll find yourself swinging rubbery weapons and knocking enemies flying with the lightest tap. Enemies that you rended the flesh from will get back up, eyes dangling from their sockets and continue to fight,  making it hard to take the ridiculous level of violence seriously.

Still, in early access, each match begins with you saluting your opponent before a row of spikes lowers and your enemies dance towards you on superbly realistic jello-legs. While you start off feeding your opponents bare-knuckle sandwiches, you quickly collect weapons like flails, swords, and pikes. Then, you can bash, slice and skewer your enemies until you are literally showered in their blood.

But does GORN own the gladiator scene? Let’s see how these other games hold up to GORN, and in some cases, outshine this VR beatfest.

Mayhem. Blood. Gore. And the ability to rip out the beating hearts of your enemies. What could be better?

11. GLADIO

Gladio Gameplay

Gladio is a small, simple and straightforward combat simulator whose kooky physics and realistic fighting will satisfy your indie bloodlust. The game is an experiment of a first-person combat system and does an excellent job bringing a sense of realistic movement to PC controls.

A simple swing of your sword and you can find yourself slicing off limbs or smashing armor to bits. And if you feel like watching your enemies fly across the arena like they were just hit by Goku, kick them in the chest. That’s how I learned that in this little indie combat simulator, the environment actively crumbles with each impact.

The game itself only has one game mode with a few levels of difficulty, but that really allows you to focus on the simplicity of combat instead of getting bogged down by other details. If you are looking for a simple combat experience that offers more realism than GORN while still providing the freedom to slice your opponents’ faces off, this is a game for you.

Your goal is to battle by sword fight, but if your enemies get annoying, give them a swift boot across the arena.

Parry, block and slash your way to triumph as the waves of enemies crash over you.

10. CHIVALRY: MEDIEVAL WARFARE

Chivalry: Medieval Warfare Gameplay

Back in 2012, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare was the first of its kind as it aimed to immerse you in the reality of medieval battle. As you hack ‘n slash your way through villages, towns, and castles, killing enemies and sending people running in fear, you’ll feel like you’re in the bloody battles of 300 or Kingdom of Heaven.

Dark and realistic environments filled with all the visual and audio elements of war: raging fires, demolished cities, the clang of steel and the screams of bloodthirsty warriors keep you totally immersed in the warfare.

Chivalry is a skill based game with similar mechanics to FPSs (Destiny, Call of Duty, etc.) but with one major difference: instead of guns your character is given swords, shields, axes and longbows to kill with. You also get to personally choose whether or not you want to behead another player in first person or in third person view (bringing you as close to the action as possible).

With up to 32 players competing in a single match, battles are fast-paced, bloody, and in your face. Players will have to battle through the gritty realism of medieval warfare, besieging castles, ransacking villages, and fighting for the glory of victory!

Dark and gritty, you’ll feel like you could be killed at any moment -- and if you aren’t careful in this realistic world, chances are you will be!
