Iron might not be the rarest nor the most popular ore to come across in Minecraft, but it still is one of the most useful and important ones of the game; since you can craft many things from weapons and armours to minecarts and anvils, having a full stack of this ores is always a must on any players inventory. For that reason, we will give you the top 5 best levels to find Iron. 

 

5. Villages:

Villages and “manmade” structures in Minecraft are great places to look for iron and other precious ores since most of the time this have a great variety of chests where one of the most common loot that you can find is iron.

This layer is great for finding Iron for a couple of reasons, first of all, iron is such a common ore that you will find it mostly on any layer, but we chose this layer since here not only will you find iron, but also a handful of other scarce ores like diamonds and Redstone, so who knows maybe you will be lucky enough to find some diamonds on your quest for iron and to us that sounds like an absolute win.

Ravines are the best place to go if you are looking for iron, these huge holes that appear on the surface of the world are like a combination of every item mentioned on our list, they are generally full of exposed veins of not only iron but other precious ores; they also go all the way from mountain tops to the deepest layers of the world and to make it even better they are not so rare to come across as other natural structures in the game. Just be careful when you find one since falling inside one without the measures needed can end up being fatal since you can fall to your death or into a river of lava at the bottom of the ravine.

  • Extends from the highest layer to the lowest one
  • Full of exposed iron veins
