Smart setups are extremely important in Plants vs. Zombies. There are several ways to upgrade your setup. Continue reading to find out how!

In the ultimate battle against the undead, you will have to play your game with a solid strategy in mind. I can tell you from experience that going into a battle with no plan in sight will only end in a catastrophe… The setup of your plants is a vital component of your game. Luckily for you, there are several setups that will result in guaranteed success and victory.

5. The Spicy Sunshine

It sounds a lot more fun than it is. For us, at least. I wish I could say the say about the zombies, but hey, someone has to die! This setup consists of three main plants that will guarantee a successful battle: The Sunflower, The Jalapeno, and The Wall-Nut. These three weapons are the key to an easy victory.

How should you use these plants, you ask? Let me explain:

  • The Sunflowers will be at the very back of your line of attack. Make sure that you plant at least one full column before purchasing attacking plants.
  • The Wall-Nut will be the main distraction at the very front of your lawn. These plants will make sure that the zombies are stalled before they get anywhere near the house.
  • Your last weapon will be The Jalapeno. You can place this plant in any row where a mass of zombies are stalled by The Wall-Nut.

This setup ensures that zombies don't even get the chance to come close to your house. They are trapped by The Wall-Nut and then instantly destroyed by The Jalapeno. All of this is powered by your army of Sunflowers at the back of the lawn. Genius.

4. The Bomb Mania

Every battle should be started off strong with at least one column of Sunflowers at the back of your lawn. This setup starts off with a line of Sunflowers to provide enough Sun for you to purchase other weapons. Secondly, you will make use of The Potato Mine and end it off strong with some Peashooters.

Your setup should look as follows:

  • At the very back of your lawn, an entire column should be filled with Sunflowers.
  • Right before The Sunflowers, you should make sure that an entire column is covered with Potato Mines. This will ensure that no zombie will be able to touch your main source of Sun: The Sunflowers.
  • The column before The Potato Mines should be filled with an army of Peashooters. I advise that you fill more than one column with Peashooters to maximize the damage done on approaching zombies.

This setup is guaranteed to grant you victory in the ultimate battle. You can even combine some aspects of The Spicy Sunshine setup and place The Wall-Nut at the front of each line in order to stall the zombies while The Peashooters attack. This is a strong setup that will require little energy from your side. Just plant and win!

3. Dinner is served

This setup is one of the most simple setups that will require almost no effort from your side. All you will need for this setup is some Sunflowers, The Gatling Pea, and The Wall-Nut. It sounds like a recipe for success if you ask me!

Let me explain how you will be victorious with this simple setup:

  • As usual, plant a row of Sunflowers at the very back of your lawn.
  • As soon as you have a solid row of Sunflowers, start purchasing Wall-Nuts and place them in the very first column to stall the zombies.
  • The next step is optional, but I do highly recommend it. Plant another row of Sunflowers at the back of your lawn to optimize the amount of Sun you will receive.
  • The next step is the fun part: start placing The Gatling Pea in every column to start attacking!

The important thing about this setup is to make sure that The Wall-Nut is replaced frequently and that you have enough Sun to purchase at least one Gatling Pea per column. If you follow all of these steps thoroughly, I can guarantee that those zombies do not stand a single chance when they are served with a delicious Wall-Nut and Pea dinner!

2. Shroom Trip

This setup is one that will be used at night. The equivalent of The Sunflower is The Sun-Shroom. This plant is extremely important for the night gameplay. You will not be receiving any free Sun, therefore the Sun-Shroom will be vital. You will also be utilizing The Puff-Shroom and The Fume-Shroom in this setup.

It will work as follows:

  • Place at least two rows of The Sun-Shroom at the very back of your lawn. This is a vital step in this setup.
  • The Fume-Shroom will cause damage to zombies that are at least four spaces in front of him. Place The Fume-Shroom over an entire column more or less two spaces in front of The Sun-Shroom.
  • Fill up every single space in front of The Fume-Shroom with The Puff-Shroom. These plants do not cost any Sun and will cause damage to a zombie when planted in masses.

It is very important to stay attentive to your Puff-Shrooms during your gameplay. They should be replaced frequently. You can also utilize the Fume-Shroom by planting more of them towards the front of your lawn. They will cause more damage than The Puff-Shroom and should therefore be utilized.

1. Pool Party

The last setup will be used in the pool. Here you will make use of The Sunflower, The Lily Pad, The Threepeater, and The Tangle Kelp. These three simple plants will be the secret recipe to success.

Let me tell you why:

  • The Lily Pads should be planted across two columns at the back of the pool. This is essential because you will not be able to plant anything in the pool without the support of The Lily Pad.
  • The back row of your lawn should be covered with Sunflowers, like always. The Sunflowers can be planted on The Lily Pads as well.
  • The next step is to solidify your gameplay with one of The Threepeaters in every second row. This plant will serve as your main source of attack.
  • Lastly, you will place one of The Tangle Kelps in each column of the swimming pool. You have to pay attention to these plants because they will have to be replaced each time that they destroy a zombie.

This setup will make sure that you will have the ultimate pool party while the zombies’ blood runs cold. Enjoy every second because I sure did!
