This a review of all current Shadowverse card packs from Classic to World Uprooted Expanded. The new fourth birthday party packs are not currently included as they have yet to be fully released

1. Classic

Classic is the original set of cards that arrived when the game first came out. At the time, they were the only packs available, meaning that most players had very similar decks. Once Darkness Evolved was revealed, Classic cards became used less and less. That hasn’t changed, considering that there are over ten-card packs to choose from. However, there are a few Classic gems that pop up in the game often and remind us why we started Shadowverse in the first place

Buy This Pack If…

  • If you want to take a trip down Shadowverse memory lane, opening up Classic is a great idea. You can make an old school deck and try it out online for fun or experimentation 
  • If you happen to be a collector junkie and want to collect every legendary card in the game, Classic is worth a visit. It’s packs still have legendary cards as well, and hidden legendary gems can be forgotten in all the new hype
  • Need a small, base-level card to round out your deck and you can’t seem to find it anywhere else? Give Classic a try. Classic’s specialty was always to be very concrete and very straightforward, meaning that a one-point basic Classic card can balance out your hand
  • If you’re just beginning the game, consider a Classic deck, if only to practice. Classic packs are great for beginning players, as they tend to be very uncomplicated in terms of instruction and numbers. These packs are great for a first introduction 
  • Even with all of the hype surrounding the newest packs, Classic packs will always remain the best to get through the original Morning Star storyline. If you’re looking to get through those battles for the first time, a deck of Classic packs is definitely recommended

2. Darkness Evolved

Darkness Evolved is the second card pack released by Cygames in late September of 2016 that opens with the phrase “new evolutions for a new war.” The Darkness Evolved card packs are filled with cards that have abilities surpassing simple evolution in a match. These packs were created to give decks made out of Classic pack cards an extra edge, opening a new world for Shadowverse in terms of game and match intensity. Darkness Evolved was the first gateway towards more complicated cards and abilities in Shadowverse 

Buy This Pack If…

  •  As mentioned above, if you want to give your deck an extra edge in terms of evolution, Darkness Evolved packs are a good place to start. While they’re still older compared to more recent packs, they still manage to complement other decks well
  • If you’re specifically looking to give your Classic deck an edge, Darkness Evolved packs are perfect for that as they are closest in age with the Classic packs. They merge very well and can stand up to the best of today’s recent decks 
  • If you’re looking for the staple evolution point regaining card Dark Angel Olivia, look no further. These packs are her origin, and if you are looking to find her card beyond the tradeable Shadowverse gives you, Darkness Evolved is where you should begin your search
  • Darkness Evolved is also where Shadowcraft truly began to shine in a powerful way, what with the packs containing crucial Shadowcraft cards such as Lord of the Flies and Spirit Cycle. If you’re looking to build a sturdy Shadowcraft deck, Darkness Evolved packs are a great place to start drawing 
  • Or if you’re into Havencraft and are looking for the Enstatued Seraph amulet that countdowns to an automatic win, it originates from the Darkness Evolved packs as well. 

3. Rise Of Bahamut 

Rise Of Bahamut is the third card pack released by Cygames on December 29th, 2016 that opens with the phrase “destroy everything to win.” The Rise Of Bahamut expansion was exactly 105 cards, adding to the game specifically in-depth tactics that focused on the game’s newly introduced Enhance ability. Bahamut himself is actually a very powerful Dragoncraft card, meaning that the Rise Of Bahamut expansion was especially kind to Dragoncraft cards and enhancing their skills

  • If you’re looking into the past like you might be with the previous two packs, look closely at both Swordcraft and Dragoncraft when it comes to Rise Of Bahamut. If you’re interested in improving either of those decks, then several legendary cards from these packs can help enhance them for victory 
  • If you want to specialize in high intensity and damage Dragoncraft, then this pack is the pack for you. Rise Of Bahamut’s own Dragoncraft card Breath of the Salamander and the neutral dragon card Bahamut himself both combine to destroying everything on the field while doing extensive damage to the enemy leader
  • If you’re in the mindset to collect gold cards either for the game or for collecting purposes, Rise Of Bahamut packs have a higher level of gold card draw rates compared to the previous two packs. This makes drawing heavy hitters a breeze
  • If you’re looking to work on your Runecraft skills with a spellboosting queen, look no further. Daria, Dimensional Witch is a part of the Bahamut set. Daria spellboosts your hand five times after discarding your hand and drawing five replacement cards. This legendary card is considered a heavy hitter, even today, and she can be drawn from this pack
  • Rise Of Bahamut cards are very offensive, and if you’re a player that looks to strike as fast as you possibly can, then consider opening a few Bahamut packs and see what you can improve your deck with

4. Tempest Of The Gods

Tempest Of The Gods is the fourth pack released by Cygames on March 30th, 2017. The Tempest Of The Gods expansion had exactly 104 new cards, not to mention the two original legendary cards for each Shadowverse craft. These cards are meant to form the core of new and unique deck styles, opening up many options deck builders didn’t have before this pack’s release.

  • If you want to raise the difficulty bar for your opponent to the max and shift the battlefield in your own favor, this pack’s god-level cards such as Zeus are perfect for the job
  • If you enjoy creating new and improved decks and would like to explore unique and powerful options, Tempest Of The Gods is for you. It’s high-level cards and intricately instructed amulets make for a fun time on the battlefield 
  • Tempest Of The Gods focuses on special follower abilities such as bane, storm, or simply not being able to take any damage at all. If you’re interested in frustrating your opponent to no end or need something to complement one of the newer Natura decks, a Tempest Of The Gods card pack is in your best interest 
  • If you’re looking for a card to tilt your Havencraft Elana deck in the right direction, Tempest Of The Gods exclusively has the card Heavenly Aegis. This card cannot be damaged or affected by any special status the enemy leader might have had in mind. It’s a foolproof card and rather annoying unless you’re the one using it, and it’s a Tempest Of The Gods exclusive
  • If you’re looking for a powerful deck to get you through the difficulty that is the storyline finale for the chapter Worldwreaver, a deck made exclusively out of Tempest Of The Gods cards assists very well in assures victory 

5. Wonderland Dreams

Wonderland Dreams is the fifth pack released by Cygames for the world of Shadowverse. This pack has 104 brand new story inspired cards, most of them being powerful neutral followers you can use as superior deck creating options. Wonderland Dreams is a card pack that is even used by a computer fighter in the game, should you choose to get some practice.

  • If you’re looking to make an unstoppable Forestcraft deck, say no more. Wonderland Dreams is on the way. These packs specialize in releasing powerful Forestcraft cards, a craft that sorely needed after the time of release. Even now, Wonderland Dreams still manages to make its way into effective Forestcraft decks as heavy hitters
  • If you’re looking to make use of the many neutral cards in your collections that you keep tucked away, Wonderland Dreams is a perfect opportunity to have a completely new deck of mostly neutral cards. Don’t be fooled, these decks can pack quite the punch
  • Looking to succeed more concerning online matches? Wonderland Dreams is the pack for you. These cards balance out the playing field between both faster and slower crafts. If the match was completely one-sided and the scales tipped too steep in your opponent’s favor, Wonderland Dreams helps to even out the playing field 
  • Wonderland Dreams has some of the most beautiful artwork out of any pack set released by Shadowverse. If you’re looking to simply collect instead of battle, and are looking for gorgeous designs, Wonderland Dreams has the answer to your wishes. Just open a few packs and see what you get
  • Looking for powerful Dragoncraft heavy hitters to complement your newest deck? Check out Wonderland Dreams. With cards such as Jabberwock and Wyrm God of the Skies, it’s simple for you to improve your followers while also doing major damage to the enemy leader or those enemy followers that still remain

6. Starforged Legends

Starforged Legends is the sixth card pack released by Cygames with 104 brand new cards. Starforged Legends was also released in time for the game’s first birthday, meaning that the two most popular cards chosen in the 1st Birthday Card Popularity Poll would become part of the set with exclusive art, card sleeves, and emblems. Starforged Legends itself also takes place in space, letting you draw celestial like cards while participating in universe worthy battles

  • These packs proved to provide very useful strength for Bloodcraft decks with exclusive cards such as Snarling Chains and Jormungand, making Bloodcraft a sinister craft to go up against. These cards are Starforged Legends exclusive, so looking for them in packs is the way to find them
  • If you want to create a deck that specializes in both destruction and card drawing, then Starforged Legends is the place to start looking. With cards such as Purehearted Singer and Beowulf, your deck will be able to move quickly with an added touch of pain. These Starforged Legends cards blend well with newer decks that have similar goals in mind, so mingling isn’t difficult 
  • If you’re looking for leader cards such as Aldos for Dragoncraft or Daria for Runecraft, those cards are exclusive to Starforged Legends and have to be drawn from their packs. Pick up a pack and see if you can find them
  • If you enjoy the idea of playing with spatial related cards, also consider Starforged Legends. The artwork that accompanies the cards, especially in Runecraft, give you the feel of traveling to a different dimension, an effect translated to the battlefield 
  • Starforged Legends cards have some of the most common silver draws out of any card pack. If you’re looking to collect silvers you might not already own, searching through Starforged Legends is a great place to start

7. Chronogenesis 

Chronogenesis is the seventh card pack released by Cygames with 138 new cards including three leader cards originating from the 1st Birthday Card Popularity Poll. Chronogenesis was the first card pack to feature cards from Shadowverse’s new craft, Portalcraft, introducing the skill Resonance and Artifacts. The rotation play format was also released, meaning you can only make decks out of the five most recently released card packs. Paired with unlimited, meaning that you can battle with decks made out of any card set, Shadowverse battling is even more intense

  • If you’re looking to get into Portalcraft but aren’t sure where to start, nothing can be better at starting at the craft’s origins. Opening a Chronogenesis pack will give you basic Portalcraft cards and help you to get practicing 
  • If you’re looking for the leaders Albert of Swordcraft, Cerberus of Shadowcraft, or Exella of Bloodcraft, check these packs. They are Chronogenesis exclusives and can only be found in those packs
  • Chronogenesis still works very well in unlimited Portalcraft, meaning that if you want to create a well balanced Portalcraft deck, Chronogenesis is a great place to start. It is the origin of the class after all
  • If you’re interested in additions to your unlimited Shadowcraft deck, check this pack out. With powerful gold cards such as Death Dragon Caller and Skeleton Prince, you can refill your field quickly if running low. These cards are exclusively Chronogenesis, so make sure to open up a few packs
  • And finally, if you’re interested in the look of steampunk cards in your hand, Chronogenesis is the best bet for cards that look that way. If you’re looking for those intricate details, check these packs out

8. Dawnbreak Nightedge 

Dawnbreak Nightedge is the eighth card pack released by Cygames in December of 2018 with 114 new cards including two leader cards from the 1st Birthday Card Popularity Poll. The cards were released in two parts, with 97 initial cards with an additional 17 at the end of May 2018. A new gold card for all classes and a new legendary card for all classes were included. The new choose mechanic was introduced so that you could play one of two variations of the same card

Buy This Pack If…

  • If you like to have choosing options between effects on your cards, Dawnbreak Nightedge is the perfect pack for you. These cards work especially well with crafts such as Forestcraft and Runecraft, so take Dawnbreak Nightedge into consideration 
  • If you specialize in Havencraft, Dawnbreak Nightedge has the coveted Havencraft ward Godsworn Alexiel. Godsworn Alexiel only let’s four damage be done to your leader at a time. This is a highly defensive card and imperative to many Elana decks. It is a Dawnbreak Nightedge exclusive, so it arrives from these packs only
  • If you’re looking for the leader’s Aria of Forestcraft or Ramina of Havencraft, they are both Dawnbreak Nightedge exclusives. You draw their card from the Dawnbreak Nightedge packs and you automatically get their leader 
  • Dawnbreak Nightedge is a card pack that is consistently full of legendary cards for the taking, varying your choices of power levels when it comes to what you put in your deck once you get the cards
  • Dawnbreak Nightedge also works really well with new unlimited decks, meaning that it’s cards still have valid enough power to work with new Natura decks or even Machina decks

9. Brigade Of The Sky

Brigade Of The Sky is the ninth card pack released by Cygames in June 2018 with 114 cards at the initial release and an additional 17 in late August, including a new legendary for all classes. A new ability, accelerate, was introduced, meaning that cards with accelerate can be played at lower play points for special effects only. This set gave the game a series of new cards based off the mobile RPG Granblue Fantasy as well

Buy This Pack If…

  • If you already played Granblue Fantasy in the past and wish to collect cards of your favorite characters, then these are the packs for you. All Granblue Fantasy cards are Brigade Of The Sky exclusive
  • If you’re looking for the Portalcraft leader Spinaria, a Granblue Fantasy character herself, you will need to draw her card from a Brigade Of The Sky card pack. Don’t be afraid to look!
  • If you’re looking to create either a Forestcraft deck or an edgier Portalcraft deck, Brigade is the right place to look. It has Silva, Ardent Sniper for Portalcraft, and Korwa, Ravishing Designer for Forestcraft. Both are extremely powerful legendaries with leader carry-over effects that can only be found in Brigade Of The Sky packs
  • If you’re interested in finding neutral wards to fill up protection space in your deck, look no further. With ward cards akin to Katalina, Sky Guardian, Brigade can easily help you create an unlimited deck with extra protection 

10. Omen Of The Ten

Omen Of The Ten is the tenth card pack released by Cygames in late September of 2018. It launched with 97 initial cards and 2 new leader cards. An added 17 with legendaries and golds for all classes arrived in the second half of November. A new ability invocation was released, allowing a player to play cards from their deck after they met the specific requirements of the card. As well, the Omen Of The Ten are also legendary cards made available once you purchase a pack

Buy This Pack If…

  • If you’re looking to create Sins of the Heartless, a popular prebuilt Portalcraft deck, you should look through Omen card packs first. Lishenna, Omen of Destruction, the staple destroyer of the deck, is one of the ten legendary cards. This makes her a pack exclusive, meaning if you want to find her, you have to look through Omen Of The Ten card packs
  • Omen Of The Ten was a card pack that catered towards Portalcraft and Shadowcraft with cards such as Lishenna, Omen of Destruction for Portalcraft, and Rulenye, Omen of Silence for Shadowcraft. Both cards stop enemies in their tracks even in today’s unlimited battles, and both are Omen Of The Ten exclusive legendaries
  • If you’re looking for Forestcraft leader Cassiopeia, or the Bloodcraft leader, Medusa, both are Omen exclusive cards so that once you get the card, you get the leader. If you're interested in finding either one, you’ll have to search through a pack of Omen Of The Ten cards. Don’t be afraid to look!
  • Omen Of The Ten also introduced the gilded Swordcraft decks, meaning that it introduced a new style of fighting with new cards. They may be Omen Of The Ten exclusive but are only bronze cards, making them easy to find and utilize as a deck-building strategy 

11. Altersphere

Altersphere is the eleventh card pack released by Cygames in December 2018 with 114 cards total. 97 arrived in December with 2 new leader cards, while the remaining 17 consisting of gold and legendary cards for each craft, were released in February. This pack’s cards primarily focus on warped time and altered dimensions, including the powers that come with it

Buy This Pack If…

  • Altersphere is very Runecraft and Portalcraft heavy in terms of enhancement, meaning that if you want to improve your Runecraft and Portalcraft decks, or even make new ones, Altersphere packs are the first place you should look to for answers
  • Maisha, Hero of Purgation is an extremely powerful Portalcraft card, doing damage to the leader equal to how many cards you destroyed that match. She works well with both puppet and artifact decks, but puppet is recommended. Regardless, she is an Altersphere exclusive, meaning you can draw her only from these packs should you choose to make a solid puppet deck
  • If you’re looking for the leaders Alexiel of Havencraft or Orchis of Portalcraft, both leader cards can be found only in Altersphere packs. This means that you should start your search here if you want to find them. You might even come across some gold or other legendary cards along the way
  • Altersphere is a pack made of cards that focus on heavy offense with a splash of small, but powerful, defense. Playing with decks like these can mean living on the edge to an extent, and if you have the desire to play it right, don’t be afraid to look for your first answers in an Altersphere pack. It has the best results

12. Steel Rebellion

Steel Rebellion is the twelfth card pack released by Cygames in March 2019 with the phrase “the steel heart of rebellion beats on.” It has 114 cards and was officially launched at the end of March 2019 with 97 initial cards paired with 2 new leader cards. The additional 17, gold and legendary cards for each class, were released in May 2019. Steel Rebellion has cards the delve deeper into the world of Aiolon, the oppressed, steel city from Shadowverse’s main storyline. The Machina card type was officially introduced and with it new special effects in battle

Buy This Pack If…

  • If you’ve been looking to make a powerful Machina deck or update the one you already have, what better way to do so than to open a pack from Steel Rebellion? Each craft can have certain types of Machina cards, so any class could be powerful enough for victory with these effects. Steel Rebellion was where they started, and it’s where you can start as well
  • If you’re looking for the Runecraft leader Wizardess of Oz or the Dragoncraft leader Filene, they are both available in Steel Rebellion packs only, as they are the exclusive cards of the set. Don’t be afraid to take a look!
  • If you want to make a rotation deck, you’re in luck. As of right now, Steel Rebellion is in the top five most recent Shadowverse decks, meaning that its cards can be used in online rotation battles. Now you can make powerful Machina decks you can use for an extreme win.
  • Looking for a better way to manage evolution points without wasting a follower? Well, the amulets allowing you to regain one evolution point on your seventh turn were released with Steel Rebellion as well, giving your deck the leg up you’ve been looking for.

13. Rebirth Of Glory

Rebirth Of Glory is the thirteenth card pack released by Cygames in June 2019 with the phrase “revel in the presence of glory.” This set of 114 cards was released at the end of June 2019 with 97 original cards and 2 new leader cards. The additional 17, gold and legendary cards for each craft, were released in August. In these packs, war has overtaken the world and is moving towards devouring the heavens. Fighting with familiar faces at your side, it is your choice as to whether or not you want to reach for the glory that awaits you.

  • Rebirth Of Glory is another pack set that can be used in online rotation battles, meaning that you have the ability to make extremely powerful decks out of this card pack alone and use them successfully. If you want to become a rotation battle champion, open up a Rebirth Of Glory pack today.
  • If you’re searching for the leader's Melissa of Swordcraft, or Aisha of Shadowcraft, they are the exclusive leader cards that come with Rebirth Of Glory. Open up any Rebirth Of Glory card pack if you want to find either of them. You might just get lucky!
  • Rebirth Of Glory introduced a new age to Swordcraft in that it made it sturdier and stabler beyond being a straight on the offensive craft. With the introduction of the Swordcraft Levin card trait, it leaves you more options to connect your Swordcraft followers and better your Swordcraft decks, especially with the legendary card Albert, Levin Champion at your side. If you’re looking to improve your Swordcraft, check it out.
  • If you’ve seen the Havencraft Elana deck out and about and want to try it for yourself, search through Rebirth Of Glory to find her. She is another legendary card exclusive waiting to be made into a highly defensive and successful Havencraft deck. Start looking through those packs today!

14. Verdant Conflict

Verdant Conflict is the fourteenth card pack released by Cygames in September 2019 with the phrase “the verdant soul of conflict springs forth.” It launched 114 cards in total with the original 97 cards, including the two leaders, at the end of September. The additional 17, gold and legendary cards for each craft, were released in November. A new effect Crystallize was introduced, meaning that you could play a card as an amulet for its crystallized cost if you didn’t have enough play points to play it as the original. This card pack focuses on the civil war and unrest revolving around the citizens of the fantasy world Naterra, a world from Shadowverse’s main storyline.

  • Verdant Conflict is another card pack that is still allowed to be used in terms of rotation matches, meaning that any powerful Naterran effects or cards gained from the packs can be used in an online battle. If you’re looking to become a Naterran champion on the rotation field, don’t be afraid to draw from a pack of Verdant Conflict cards.
  • If you’re searching for the Forestcraft leader Liza, or the Bloodcraft leader Mono, you’ll have to draw their leader cards from the Verdant Conflict card packs. They’re the leader exclusives of this set, and if you want to get them, just open up a few.
  • Verdant Conflict helped Forestcraft make a major comeback in terms of power with cards such as Blossom Spirit and Ladica, the Stoneclaw. Both cards rely on the effects of Great Naterran Trees, which there are plenty of, and are very powerful in terms of their general effect on the field. If you’re interested in becoming a new Forestcraft champion, open up a pack of Verdant Conflict cards today.
  • If you’re still following the Shadowverse storyline and enjoy a well-written tale, don’t forget to open up the main storyline. With this pack was released several new chapters, and, after creating your new Verdant Conflict deck, go check out the accompanying story and give it a read. You won’t be disappointed!

15. Ultimate Colosseum 

Ultimate Colosseum is the fifteenth card pack released by Cygames in December 2019 with the phrase “the battle of the century awaits.”The set launched with 114 cards at the end of December with it’s initial 97 and two leader cards, the additional 17 gold and legendary cards for each craft arriving in February of 2020. Some cards from Ultimate Colosseum feature characters from the developer's anime RPG Princess Connect! Re:Dive and others introduce the brand new effect Union Burst. Union Burst takes place when a card is played on your tenth turn or later, but can be brought down by one and activated a turn earlier depending on your card choice.

Buy This Pack If…

  • For all of the current and future rotation battle champions out there, Ultimate Colosseum is still on the market of availability use wise. If you have any powerful union burst, Natura, or Machina cards you’d like to use from these packs, they’re all available right here.
  • If you enjoyed Runecraft, then you’ll appreciate this. Runecraft made a tremendous comeback in Ultimate Colosseum due to its newly released legendary card Kuon, Founder of Onmyodo. This card relies on spellboosting for its full effect to take place but is a powerhouse nonetheless. It’s an Ultimate Colosseum exclusive, so look through those packs today!
  • If you’re looking for the Runecraft leader Kyoka or the Shadowcraft leader Miyako, take a draw from an Ultimate Colosseum pack. These are the official leader cards of the set, and can only be drawn from Ultimate Colosseum packs. Draw the card to get the leader!
  • And if you just want to support your favorite anime RPG Princess Connect, take a draw or two from the Ultimate Colosseum packs to see if you can find your favorite characters.

16. World Uprooted 

World Uprooted is the sixteenth card pack released by Cygames in March 2020 with the phrase “the seeds of destruction will uproot this world no more.” The original 97 cards were released in March and the additional 17 cards were released in May. A new effect Fusion was introduced, meaning that you can fuse two specific cards together in order to gain new and more powerful effects. Two more Bloodcraft features were introduced, Avarice and Wrath, focusing on how many cards you have in your hand at a time as well as how many times you’ve been damaged.

  • This is the most recent Shadowverse pack, meaning that it has the most bells and whistles, the most up to date cards, and the most powerful prebuilt decks. If you’re looking to keep up on top of powerful trends, try buying a World Uprooted pack. It will get you in the Shadowverse know very quickly.
  • Recently, new promo parts to the deck have been added due to the fourth birthday celebration polls. If you’re interested in getting any exclusive leader cards or legendaries, go purchase one now! Legendaries are guaranteed for a short time.
  • Looking for the Swordcraft leader Dionne, the Dragoncraft leader Galmieux, or the Shadowcraft leader Aenea? Look no further than the World Uprooted packs, for they are included exclusively inside and in no other packs in the game. Happy searching!
  • Are you looking to improve in Dragoncraft or Shadowcraft? Great! World Uprooted gave these two classes a huge leg up over the competition with their two new legendaries; He Who Once Rocked for Shadowcraft and Shipsbane Plesiosaurus for Dragoncraft.
