If you are playing as a Monarch, a Knight or a Spy you’re going to have to wield a sword. The kind of sword you have makes a huge difference. Depending on skill, crafting swords can yield different qualities, for most of the swords as quality improves so do the stats.
The better the sword you have means higher attack power and the less it weighs makes defense much easier. Here I will break down the swords from weakest to strongest, their qualities, and why they are the Top 5 Best Swords in The Sims Medieval.
5. Lord Knights Bringer
Here our Hero is pairing the Lord Knights Bringer with Goblinsoul Armor.
Not only does this sword have a fantastic name, but you must complete a quest to win it. Notice how I said “win it," you can complete the quest and come out with no sword. The quest is the Gilded Guilds.
You have to do the "Fighter's Guild" approach. After refusing to join the guild and teaching a recruit “Furious Onslaught” only then can you challenge the Lord Knight to a duel to the death to win his sword. You must win, if you lose you complete the quest, but you do not get the sword.
Lord Knights Bringer Pros:
- Attack Power: 9, 10 once sharpened
- Weight:1
- Bragging rights because you won a duel to the death for this sword
How to Get the Lord Knights Bringer:
- This sword can only be won by completing the quest Gilded Guilds-Fighter’s Guilds approach
- The key is to refuse to join the guild and then teach a recruit “Furious Onslaught”
- Win a duel to the death against the Lord Knight
4. Balmung
Who wouldn't want this ominous looking sword?
The best thing about this sword is that when you complete the quest you permanently unlock another sword at the Forge. It also has a good balance of power to weight making it a highly capable sword. The Blacksmith can craft this sword as early as level one, but they must complete the quest Cutting Edge.
During this quest you must make certain choices to end the quest with Balmung. The key to crafting this sword is the ingredient “Superior Alloy” that can only be crafted during the quest so craft as much as possible. Because the swords are only available to craft after the quest is completed.
Balmung Pros:
- Attack Power: 7, 8 after being sharpened
- Weight: 3
- Legendary Quality
- Unlock a second sword at the Forge
How to get Balmung:
- Can be crafted by a blacksmith at level 1 after completing the quest Cutting Edge
- Choose Electrum as the catalyst and the dialogue “A wicked Blade”
- Craft a lot of Superior Alloy so you can craft the sword and more after the quest
- Ingredients: 1 Tremendous Catalyst, 1 Superior Alloy, 2 Mithral,1 Mana Stone and 3 Adamantle
3. Tooth of Jacob
Cut down your enemies with the strength of the Watcher.
This is one of the best swords because of its power to attack ratio. Once you increase the quality the weight becomes half of the overall power. Considered to be an upgrade to the watcher’s blade you must use a watcher’s blade in its creation.
This sword can be crafted by the blacksmith at level 6 which is early for such a great sword. You also earn the “Breath of Jacob” Buff anytime you use the sword. Overall easy to get and powerful to use.
Tooth of Jacob Pros:
- Attack: 7, 8 after it is sharpened
- Weight 5, once quality is improved weight decreases to 4
- “Breath of Jacob” Buff, +15 Focus

2. Angels Talon
Be the envy of all your friends when the Angel's Talon is equipped.
This legendary sword makes number two on this list because although it would seem like you would have to complete a grand quest to earn it, this sword can be crafted by the blacksmith at level 10.
Even though it is not the lightest sword on this list, it does almost max out in attack power at 9 once sharpened. The major perk of this sword is that whenever it is in hand you are granted a buff that boosts your focus by 50. Overall, a beautiful light weight sword that brings the power.
Angels Talon Pros:
- Attack Power: 8, 9 after being sharpened
- Weight: 3
- Buff when in use “Strength of Peter,” +50 Focus

A little curse is worth it when you look this menacing.
This is the best sword in the whole game. So, it is cursed BUT it is maxed out in attack power and weighs nothing. And you can craft this sword once your blacksmith is level 10.
Because its weight sits at zero it is the best sword to have if you are in the business of killing a lot of people in a short period of time. This sword gives you a huge advantage when sword fighting, and dueling. A great sword for the Monarch, Knight or Spy.
